I love them but at almost 60 I worry that I am "too old" for that dress style.
I have long legs and they're slender so that's not an issue but I hate when older people try to look like they're still 18.

I think you can wear leggings until you are 100 yrs old. It just all depends on what you pair it with. Now if you are wearing it with a skin tight tshirt, yea, NO. but if you are pairing it with those cute tunics, and longer tshirt dresses. go for it!!

I think as long as you wear them as they are intended, you can wear them, no matter what your age.

Never too old. I see women who wear them in their 80s and look great. In my opinion the same things that would look tacky on women of a certain age look just as bad on teens. From the pictures you have shared, I think you dress tastefully and have nothing to worry about.

I have a wildly printed pair tommy almost 80 year old mom with her Christmas presents. I doubt they ever leave the house but thought she'd enjoy something different. If she shows up at my door wearing them with a Vineyard Vines tshirt we will have to talk.

Interesting timing for your question - on my Facebook feed yesterday was a post from a friend who had gone shopping for clothes for her 88-year-old grandmother. Her grandmother had requested that she get some leggings and tunics for her. While the granddaughter wasn't sure that her grandmother would really like them, or wear them, she complied. She then posted a couple pictures of her grandmother trying on the new clothes. The clothes looked appropriate and the grandmother actually looked cute in them. I will say that she didn't look 88, and the granddaughter chose well in selecting the clothing, but if I saw her grandmother out in those outfits I would think she looked stylish and comfortable.

I have no desire to look like my teen and I do think there are ages when certain things just aren't appropriate any more. But leggings are not one of those things I feel like that about. Today I am wearing a pair of flowered leggings with a long pink sweater. And I would find nothing inappropriate about my outfit right now at 41 nor would I think it weird on my 63 year old mother.

I'm almost your age Lauren, and I wear leggings a lot. And since I've been wearing the Lularoe leggings - I pick more subdued patterns - I have women stop me at the grocery store, etc., to ask where I got them.

I want to wear leggings but I am just not a leggings person. Even after i bought some cute fish themed lularoe leggings.
But please, no nude colored leggings.

Leggings are really just thick tights. I am roughly your age and if my butt and thighs are covered I feel appropriately dressed for a casual day as I would if I were wearing tights with a sweater dress or skirt. They are more comfortable than jeans and more put together looking than sweats. I hope they stay in style for a long time.

I don't think there is necessarily an age on stuff like this - I think that wearing them with an appropriate top (tunic or shorter dress NOT a crop top) and appropriately sized (not stretched past their limit] is the key to them looking classy

I'm always a little bit stuck on "dress your age." Why? What does my age have to do with what makes me feel good? I dress just like I did when I was 20. Jeans and a t-shirt, dress with leggings and boots, skinny pants/leggings and a tunic with boots. So maybe I never grew up or maybe I'm stuck in a rut but my formula works for me and I can update it with the fashion trends.

My mother is 76 and has 5 pair of LuLaRoe leggings that she rocks. She has to ( I think we ALL should) have her butt covered, and only wears them "casual".....meaning to the grocery store, not to lunch with her girlfriends If you have slender legs..... rock those leggings.. I wear them and "slender" and "legs" are not in my body description!!!

I buy Irma and Perfect T tunics from Lularoe, but those are patterned and I won't mix patterns, no matter how in fashion that is. I buy a lot of tunics on Amazon in solid colors that have scoop necks (I don't like v-necks) and either rounded or hankerchief hems - like this.

I wear leggings with dresses or long tunics. I work at a preschool so the kids enjoy the patterns.
If you want to wear leggings, wear leggings!

Never! We were at Marshall's yesterday and a woman probably in her 70s was in line ahead of us. She had leggings on and her legs looked amazing! I only wish my legs would look that good at her age. I'm not a fan of the young girls wearing shorts so short their rear almost hangs out or young boys with their pants almost falling off. But they don't care what I think, so adults past our 20s shouldn't care what others think about how we dress!

I think leggings look great on older women when they are worn tastefully. I say the same about younger women and teens too. Wear a long tunic style shirt and make sure they are not see through and you're good to go.

Never. There are so many ways to accessorize so you don't even notice the lady is wearing leggings.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I make sure I'm properly covered but I'm almost 40 and they are seriously comfortable and they make me happy so I wear them.

I don't care what other women wear. I personally, do not feel comfortable wearing them because I am fat. If they are under a dress, skirt, or long tunic, that's the only way they would work. I prefer my skin sucked in more by skinny jeans or jeggings and having my butt fully covered.

My teen daughters tease me because I shop in the old ladies section at kohls. I used to love Lauren conrads styles but I'm finally feeling like I'm trying too hard to look young when I wear her stuff. So I've moved down the store a bit to the stretchy clothes. But my oldest also tells me I'm pretty and have a husband who loves me so she's not in trouble

I've seen this question before and I never understand why it's asked. It seems to me as if one is asking when is it too old to wear slippers or a raincoat. What does age have to do with leggings?

I'm almost 42 and love my leggins. I'm not a size 2. I'm bigger. I've been complimented on my lularoe leggings more times than I can remember when I'm in public. I say go for it. If you're comfortable and like them then who cares what others think.

Never too old as long as your top is long enough to cover your rear, IMO. Mother is in her 80's and wears skinny pants with her longer tops. I bought my first J. Jill leggings this year and they are my favorites.

I read a few months ago that jeans are no longer acceptable wear for women over 53. (Ha, they are my favorite.) What are people supposed to wear when they get older if leggings and jeans are out? I say try stuff on and look in the mirror. If you like what you see, wear it.

I will never be too old for leggings.
I try to dress for my body type and for comfort. I am an inverted triangle. Leggings and skinny jeans are the go-to bottoms for my body type. And yes, my tops do cover my bottom.

I'm a size 4, but my problem is that I'm short (5'2") and I NEVER buy any long tops-so we will see...
