I don't see much of interest, but this is a great thread.
I mostly see rocks, trees, and the Wild Moron in his natural habitat performing some of his most sacred rituals, which include exotic brake slamming and bumper riding.

Depending on which way I go I sometimes see these Whale Tails. And they had them covered in Christmas lights during the holidays...even more cool! ![Whales Tails](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/5/54/Reverence_1.jpg/220px-Reverence_1.jpg)

I commute 7 miles. There's a Walmart and a few gas stations. There's a mall that is now closed and falling apart. That's about it for excitement. I do like seeing my office building in the distance. It's the tallest building in the city (not KC, a suburb). Don't be too impressed, it's still only 8 stories. Is that Metro North by any chance.. KC is my old stomping grounds back when... Nah, I'm south of KC. It might be more exciting on the north side!

I just moved from Phoenix to Inland Empire. My former commute was more frequently to the airport about 20 min away than to the office. I got to drive by the IKEA and "A" mountain for that. Now I have a 2-mile commute and I just pass a few industrial buildings and medical complexes once I get out of my adorable little neighborhood.

I am fortunate enough to live on the same block as my work. My commute is a 3 minute walk. But sometimes, I have to get through a gang that hangs out in my front yard. This photo was taken from my doorway. The little buggers wouldn't even move until I hollered at them! Untitled by scrapbookdiva, on Flickr That really cool

Before I retired I had an 8 minute commute - though nothing but country roads. So I had to watch out for stray goats, random deer jumping out of nowhere, loose cows, once a pony that wanted to race my car, but mostly those damn turkeys. I have a very low to the ground car (Pontiac Solstice), so I'm eye to eye with them - and they do no want to get out of the road. Damn things don't care that I'm late and need to be at school. Pretty sure I'm OK tho - the principal is usually right behind me, LOL.
Now we've moved and I'm not working, but our new hometown drives are nice, there are over 400 miles of canals in this town, so we see lots of water and some amazing boats. White ibis wander around and eat bugs out of our yards (I love them as much as I hated the turkeys), and having flowers and green all year long makes me smile.

Don't work out of the home so no commute, but a few weeks ago, just before Christmas , I was driving down the street not far from my home and came across a young man walking down the snow covered sidewalk stark necked. Don't know how long he had been out there but I hope the police picked him up before he turned into an ice cube.

Not my current job but my previous one. I'd pass lots of Mennonite children walking to their one room school house. They wear neon yellow reflective vests so drivers will see them and most carry their lunch in Igloo Playmate coolers. I drove past 2 or 3 of the schools but no matter which school they were walking to they had an Igloo Playmate cooler.
And there is a farm that has 2 camels. Sometimes I would drive on that road and see the camels hanging out in the field near the road.

WHOA! A CAMEL? This thread is SO interesting!yes - apparently the family that lives there brings the camel to faires for camel rides? [and no - they don't live on a farm...it's a rural road and the houses are all on acreage but probably only 1-4 acres lots in that area as the houses are fairly close together]

I work at multiple locations. Home visits I go through downtown Columbus past the river. It's. It very scenic in January. If it's the school I pass one of Eric Clapton's houses. Very pretty and it's on the same street as a llama farm that raises a couple pigs too. There's also an apple orchard that all the barns are gray & white. I try to get it on my 1 sec everyday but inevitably whenever I think of it there's always another car right behind me. Normally it's a very secluded street.

10 minutes takes me past two beautiful lakes and one large pasture where several hawks hunt. I see them most days.

He has been around for a long time and you alway see people pulled over to the side of Route 7 taking pictures of him... because Vermont isn't really know for their large Camel population. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) It is not not on my way to work but is on the my way to my parents' house. Ollie is pretty famous around here. I was looking for a picture that I could post of him and I think I found that he has a Facebook page. I don't even have a Facebook page. So people would stop and take pictures of the camel and the round barn. Sadly the barn has since fallen down, which is a shame because there were only a couple of them left in the state.

Thank you for sharing your commute to work with me. I enjoyed reading all of your responses. I am retired and when I worked it was a short 15 minute drive to work. I didn't see much of anything.

I drive through the old Love Canal site every day. I see lots of biohazard signs. My job is across the street from a huge dump, that sometimes bursts into flame spontaneously.

Spontaneous flames at a dump... probably not something you WANT to see happen very often!! Does the fire department have to come to put them out, or do they just let them burn?

Yeah NO kidding to the spontaneous fire!!! YIKES
My husband just started his new career as a truck driver... Second time out (still in training) he had some college girl flash her boobs at him. I think he is going to enjoy this job!! LOL.. (Apparently the trainer said on the road they were on which was in North Carolina I think, is a very popular highway to beaches and some college towns... he said it happens a lot on that stretch of highway) Fortunately, that won't be DH route...LOL... he might be driving a lot to California.. so I am SURE there won't be any flashers in that direction.. bwahaahaa

I haven't been to KC in a few years.. I am hoping to get out there this summer. I lived off of 95th and almost State Line. (We had a house there that was sorta famous in the early 90s since it sat right on the corner of 95th, it caught on fire and made the papers.. so for awhile everyone knew where I lived.. lol)

I don't work but I go to the dog park every day ![](http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r481/2peasrefugees/Smilies/grin.jpg.gif) and one day I had to slam on the brakes to let a beaver pass and let me tell you does thing are big ![](http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r481/2peasrefugees/Smilies/shocked.jpg.gif) I saw my first wild beaver last winter. They are solid little critters! Glad you managed to avoid hitting it. Not only for the beaver, but I bet it would do a number on your car! We have a camp on a pond that has a beaver(s) (one affectionally known as Justin Beaver by my niece and nephew). Makes me jump every time they slap their tails on the water... they have some power. The beaver is a little work horse, I am amazed by them and love seeing them and watching them. Everyone does not feel that way hoverever.

I drive 1/2 hour to the train station and then take the metro rail to downtown, which is another 1/2 hour.
Driving to and from work is fascinating. I get to the station at 6:30 am. There's an apartment building next to the train station. I've seen the same guy with the same dog for several months. A homeless person has camped out at the station for several months now. I see the same people parking there and walking to the hospital, which is a block from the station. For about a 6month period, I saw a lady walking on the sidewalk. She intrigued me because it was obvious she'd had a stroke. (I saw her on my way home from work) so the station is on 62Nd avenue and the first time I saw her I was on 97th avenue. I was like , "I wonder where she comes from and how far she's walked and WHY she's walking by herself? The following week I had an MD appointment and going back home and I saw her. It was like mid-morning and around this time she was on 117th avenue. I haven't seen her again and I often wonder how she's doing. I also saw a guy on a motorized wheelchair on a main road. Everyone was freaking out because he obviously should not have been doing that.
On the train it's a whole universe. I've done the same commute for almost 14 years. There's this lady from India. When I first saw her, she had a baby girl. Her mother was with her and obviously helped take care of her. Then she had a little boy. Then the girl started school and now she's only got the boy (on the train). I asked where her mother was and she told me she picks her girl up from school. Funny thing is, we've never exchanged names.
Then there's who I call Mr. Banana. He eats 3 bananas during a 20 minute ride. Or, he just shoves Cuban crackers in his mouth. THen there's the angry lady. She's Chinese and I've never seen anyone look so angry. Plus, she STOMPS. There's also the triplets but we don't know what happened to number three because there's only two now, but no one wants to ask. For a while we got the really bad homeless violin player- he is so bad that people pay him not to play. We get the tourists (baked to a crisp) and the kids who come for ULTA. Everyone's fascinated with the Nicaraguan lady (I can tell where she's from because of her Spanish accent) who wears traditional Indian clothing. OH. And the girl who's in art school who walks around barefoot and does not shave. No one is pleased about her hygienic habits. And the girl who draws cartoons!!!
