They let the fires burn out.
The dump is a huge hill. Rumor has it a 6 story crane used in the Love Canal cleanup is completely buried there, along with lots of the toxic waste. It's lovely.

I was on the south side as WELL!!! Which mall? I haven't been to KC in a few years.. I am hoping to get out there this summer. I lived off of 95th and almost State Line. (We had a house there that was sorta famous in the early 90s since it sat right on the corner of 95th, it caught on fire and made the papers.. so for awhile everyone knew where I lived.. lol) That's not a good reason to be infamous! The Great Mall on 151st is no more. Poor thing. Let me know when you're in town, we can do lunch. I have never met a pea. Good grief.. that mall wasn't even there before I moved from KC.. LOL.. I had to look it up.. It was built in 1997... I left in 1988 but have been back there a million times but heard of this mall. I'll have to ask my BFF if she ever went there. She lives by Zona Rosa... before it was a thing.. lol

I forgot to say one thing I saw (ONCE) and that was enough.... Be strong PEAS cause this is gross..and if you are an animal lover don't read.... Driving home one evening and I am sitting at an intersection (this town in Colorado is basically the armpit of Colorado, the town literally stinks (it's mostly industrial) anyways, I have to drive through this town to get to my town... I came up to an intersection and just sitting there minding my own business and I look over to see an old truck with wooden sides that go up pretty high. I got to looking at it and now I see pig's ears and feet and parts sticking out the sides... it was a truck full of pig parts.. most disgusting thing I have ever seen in my life!! Ahh the gut wagon.

It made me LOL that people pay him NOT to play , but then I thought "aww...poor guy!" shelby .....wow---I wonder if he survived !?! M~ ...such an interesting cast of characters! OMG. That's just the surface!! For a glorious 3-month period we had "the water and sewer guy." He looked like he was a dancer on Magic Mike. HOT. People think my sister and I are twins. We do the same commute. When she doesn't go to work or vice versa total strangers ask me (or her) where the other one is or if the missing "twin" is ok. Then there was the one-eyed guy. I thought I was doing him a favor by telling him he was getting too close to the edge of the platform. He then proceeded to follow me for like a couple of months. It got so bad that I had to change my train schedule to avoid him. Whenever I see him I turn and walk the other way. Then there's the rude lady with the burgundy hair. She elbows everyone. And, the very nice hospital worker who saved me from falling. I was about to sit down and the train started moving. I totally lost my balance and I felt myself being swung the other way. She grabbed the back of my jacket and saved me from really getting hurt. I ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Her.

My Commute is different every day. I'm 'everywhere' so I see different things every day.
Some days it's the great falls national landmark Other days it's the golden dome of the state capitol. And other days it's the Ballantine mansion ( anyone remember Ballantine beer? ) Sometimes the Delaware river or port of Elizabeth Some times a bear. There's an awesome green stone church I pass once a month. The stone is so beautiful. I've even passed the 'gates of hell' ( in Clifton ) and driven down shades of death road. I passed the house Elizabeth Schuyler stayed in while Hamilton courted her. I pass like 4 of Washington 'headquarters' for different times during the revolution and even the exact spot where he crossed the delaware

This post made me laugh--my boss teases me about my "adventures" of what I see on my drive to work or while out of the office for work.
I came in telling him that Jesus was on the corner dancing (a guy who was dressed in a white robe, and looked like the mainstream pictures of Jesus. I had to go meet a client about an hour later, came back and told him Jesus was still on the corner grooving out with a sign (don't remember what it said). Then on my way back from lunch I call my boss-I'm stopped in traffic near the corner where Jesus was dancing to tell him that Jesus is getting handcuffed and put into a police car!!!
We still look for dancing Jesus in the spring!! Lol

I don't drive far, but there is a relatively new memorial to our local fallen military men and women. It is beautiful and I hope it's a comforting place (especially for their family members) to visit.
