Ok. Help me out with this timeline. Flynn has convo with Russia resulting in "dirt". Shortly after convo, Trump tweets: Great move on delay (by V. Putin) - I always knew he was very smart!
Trump/Pence warned by DOJ about said "dirt". Flynn "denies" Inauguration Flynn confirmed Trump says he's unaware of reports Flynn discussed sanctions with Russian ambassador
Flynn busted Now, if it can be proven that T/P knew about "dirt/convo" prior to confirmation, could that be grounds for suspicion of conspiracy to commit fraud?

At what point was it that Pence went on TV and insisted Flynn did not talk to the Russians about the sanctions? The past few months are getting mighty blurry!

Scapegoat ! No way I believe that VP didn't know what he was talking about with Russia. Pence and Trump knew. This is not the first nor the last person he will be throwing under the bus to try to keep his hands clean.

Petraeus (?) is supposedly is supposedly on the short list. Which is...I don't even know the best adjective. While Petraeus may be slimey, he probably is not a giant threat to national security in bed with a foreign government or a far right nut job like Flynn. And how sad is it that "slimey" looks good to us. ![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/pd7N3dneptLj3pbgz5Gd.jpg) Compared to worse things like "threat to national security".

I wouldn`t love it, but I could put up with Patraeus. The challenge would be pushing someone through who actually did share national secrets with his mistress after the shitstorm generated over Clinton's email server and the possibility that it could have been hacked.

Now it will be interesting to see what happens.
They have dirt on Flynn. Flynn knows who is involved. Several things could happen that I can think of off the top of my head:
1. Nothing. Flynn goes back to private life, everyone forgets him. 2. Flynn is approached by one of the alphabet soup agencies (likely FBI). They have info on him and enough to connect him to several others (including Trump?). In exchange for spilling the beans, they won't charge him with anything. He talks to save himself. 3. Flynn is approached, but is counting on getting a pardon from Trump anyway. The IC has enough to remove Trump (or whomever they care to remove)and doesn't really need Flynn to talk, but Flynn ends up getting flattened like a pancake for refusing to talk. 4. Our Russian friends are disappointed that Flynn is no longer in a position to help them. In fact, he could now harm them. In a sudden fit of remorse, Flynn commits suicide by shooting himself twice in the back of the head while wearing handcuffs. 5. Flynn is offered $$$ to spill the beans by TMZ or someone else who just wants the story. He talks because $$$. 6. Flynn spills the beans because he is suddenly realizing that he is a real true American patriot, and letting Russia control our government isn't nice. 7. Flynn is granted asylum in Russia, where he can't be touched by the DOJ but will be at the mercy of Putin and his whims. He will be a liability and won't last long.
I think 1-4 are the most likely. It will be interesting to see which one ends up being closest to the truth. Seriously, though...do we really think that Flynn was going rogue in talking to the Russians? He may not be a bright guy, but most halfway intelligent people could see that making promises to a dictator that you may not be able to keep is not a path to success.
Oh, and as far as Petraeus goes? If they appoint him, and there is not a peep from the Republicans in congress, it will be very bad for the party of 'Murica. First they got a guy whom Obama FIRED for sharing classified info, then a guy who was convicted of giving classified info to his girlfriend? Seriously? Oh yeah, but her emails!!! They wanted us to believe they were the party of God and country, yet they elected a guy who has the morals of a horny duck and someone who has literally been fired/convicted for sharing classified intel? Seriously?

Sen. John Thune from S.D. just said, when asked if the WH should call it good & move on or deeply investigate who authorized/knew about Flynn's conversations, said it was a personnel matter & these things happen in a new administration. Then he back pedaled a bit & said that of course there needs to be an investigation, but that the security of the nation takes priority (meaning finding a replacement). *
Isn't the national security the whole reason for the need for an immediate investigation?
*Not a direct quote, I was watching it live on CNN.

Ever (bolded) You would think, wouldn't you. But who knows with this other reality admin. @zingermack that video...O.M.G. You choke hearing him 2 seconds in and continues throughout.

Scapegoat ! No way I believe that VP didn't know what he was talking about with Russia. Pence and Trump knew. I think it will be Petraeus. I don’t buy it either. I read that even before the inauguration Sally Yates had already been aware of the Flynn situation and so did James Clapper, Jr and John Brennan. They already spoke with Trump and warned him of the repercussions. It’s inconceivable to me that Pence would not have known.

I have a feeling that when this all plays out, it's going to make Watergate almost seem like small potatoes. There's no way the taint of this doesn't go all the way to the top.

Throughout my over thirty three years of honorable military service, and my tenure as the National Security Advisor, I have always performed my duties with the utmost of integrity and honesty to those I have served, to include the President of the United States. ^^^ if he was following orders, then this statement is technically true. I totally believe he did what he was told to do, and is only resigning because they got sloppy and got found out. eta: ...move along... nothin' to see here... don't look behind that curtain... I agree with the people who are posting that the GOP wants to get their agenda thru as quick as possible-- then they can worry about petty things like national security.

Well, the administration's official position appears to be, the problem isn't ties with Russia, the problem is the leaks about ties with Russia.
Digest that for a moment. The problem isn't the threat to American security, independence, and democracy. The threat is that anyone will expose the threat to American security, independence, and democracy.
