Did they want Pence out of the loop to protect him? This story just gets stranger and stranger. Maybe pence has a different set of ethics than the rest of them?

This is jaw-dropping-from Vox:
But Republican House Intelligence Committee Chair David Nunes said Tuesday that his committee won’t look into conversations between Trump and Flynn, according to CNN’s Manu Raju. Nunes cited executive privilege — a privilege typically claimed by the president for withholding information in the public interest.
Instead, Nunes said he is most concerned that the FBI was recording Flynn’s call with the Russian envoy — which was then leaked to press.
"I expect for the FBI to tell me what is going on, and they better have a good answer," Nunes told the Washington Post, in line with Trump’s response to Flynn’s resignation. "The big problem I see here is that you have an American citizen who had his phone calls recorded."
You couldn't make this stuff up. Can you imagine if Obama or Clinton were President?

The fact that David Nunes was on trump's transition team may have something to do with his lack of enthusiasm in holding hearings/ investigage trump/Flynn/Russian connection.

And here's Rand Paul on the topic: Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said Tuesday that he didn't think it would be "useful" to investigate conversations between former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and a Russian ambassador that led to Flynn's resignation. "I think that might be excessive," Paul said in an interview with "Kilmeade and Friends" first surfaced by CNN's KFILE. Paul said that Republicans will "never even get started" with major policy changes like repealing Obamacare if they are focused on investigating their colleagues. "I just don't think it's useful to be doing investigation after investigation, particularly of your own party. We'll never even get started with doing the things we need to do, like repealing Obamacare, if we're spending our whole time having Republicans investigate Republicans. I think it makes no sense," Paul said. He said that President Donald Trump has apparently "handled the situation," unless there is further evidence of wrongdoing on Flynn's part. "Unless there's some kind of other evidence of malfeasance, this sounds like something that was internal White House politics," Paul said. Flynn resigned from his post late Monday, days after reports revealed that he spoke about sanctions with Sergey Kislyak, Russia's ambassador to the United States, on a call before Trump took office. This contradicted members of Trump's administration, including Vice President Mike Pence, who previously denied that Flynn and Kislyak discussed sanctions. Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO) told KTRS radio on Tuesday that the Senate Intelligence Committee should ask Flynn about his conversations with Kislyak. "I think everybody needs that investigation to happen," he said. "I think that we should look into it exhaustively." Speaking to reporters later Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said it is "highly likely" that the Senate Intelligence Committee will investigate Flynn. "The Intelligence Committee is already looking at Russian involvement in our election," he said. "They have broad jurisdiction over the intel community writ large." Yeah, it just isn't useful to investigate your own party. Establishment GOP is going to hold their noses until they get their wettest dreams of cutting Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and cutting rich people's taxes A LOT and middle-income taxes enough for cover. After that, they'll pull the rip cord on the trap door under Trump and feed him to the impeachment hounds. Undoubtedly, at this point. And as someone else noted, keep Pence clean, because he's the next President.

It’s been said that Chaffetz investigated practically every Obama issue except the White House dinner menu. However, when prompted by the ethics office to investigate Trump’s conflicts of interest his response was to instead investigate the ethics office. Remember when he said he wouldn’t endorse Trump after seeing the Access Hollywood tape? Said he couldn’t look his teen daughter in the eyes if he did that? And then voted for Trump. He’s just another Trump lapdog. Isn't this the guy from that big town hall meeting where he got raked over the coals by his constituents?

Flood his office w/calls. 202-224-3121 or 202-225-2523. Demand an investigation. And remind him FISA makes surveillance legal even on US citizens.

Well, he believes they were mostly just paid protesters. I read the best quote in this bio of MLK Jr last week. The white mayors, governors, judges, and congressmen in the 1950s were dismissing the black people marching for civil rights as "outside agitators," implying that they were paid off, or infiltrated by Communists or whatever. (Yes, the tactics remain the same 60 years later.) And one of the civil rights leaders said, "Well, the agitator is the part of the washing machine that gets the dirt out."

two things... 1) I thought Republicans HATED when President Obama toured around, because they said he should 'stop campaigning and get working, already' and 2) Maybe Sid the Science Kid has been talking to Boris and Natasha, the cartoon spies?? Perhaps they have info about Flynn's communications with Russia?? (I saw that on the article comments, I must confess... lol!) okay, a third thing: the website link for getting tickets is his CAMPAIGN website- so he truly IS campaigning, not governing!

I love the paid protester line. If Republicans were smarter, they would be holding town halls daily to bankrupt the shadowy sources funding these protesters. My friend's response was "George Soros will just have to go back to the secret cabal of Jewish bankers hidden in a volcano to ask for more funding". lol.

(If I'm right, I think you are referring to Devin Nunes.) LOL. He was the one who opposed the FBI getting a warrant when recording international communications with Americans. As far as he was concerned, when an issue involves counterterrorism or counterintelligence, a warrant is not needed and the American being surveilled is a non-issue. He even sent a letter to the intelligence committee clearly articulating his support of surveillance of Americans having communications with foreign targets. What’s his problem now? Because it’s Flynn? Again…LOL. There are too many of these jokesters running amok, I swear.
