I just ordered this Maple Butter from Amazon and I'm pretty sure it's not even a good kind, but it is incredible. Delicious. Perfection! What else have I been missing?

Every May our high school marching band travels to Victoria to march in the (I think it's called...) Canada Day parade. I don't know if its an urban legend passed down through band members but they INSIST that Canada has better Oreos than the States. In the 3-4 days that we are there, the Oreo aisles get cleaned out so I'm sure it's not just our high school kids who think this. Last year we had a side-by-side taste test and most of the chaperones couldn't taste the different but the kids ALL agreed that Canadian ones were better. 'Gotta love band kids!

Coffee Crisp chocolate bars. The. Best.
You can buy them on Amazon. Occasionally you can find them here in the US, but they are easy to find in Canada.

The long weekend in May is the Victoria Day Holiday. Canada Day is July 1st. Oreos are made by Christie in Canada. The ingredients are a bit different than the USA recipe. Canadian Hershey chocolate bars taste GREAT because there is less wax and more cocoa butter than in the USA recipe. Plus we have Nestle and Cadbury chocolate - Areo, Coffee Crisp, Wunderbar, Dairy chocolate and many more.

I don't miss a lot of the hustle/bustle of having kids in high school but I do miss watching them march and play on the steps of the Parliment building. Beautiful! Okay, so the Oreos ARE different, huh? Good to know!

Our plastic money smells like maple syrup! Though the Bank of Canada denies a scent we all can smell it. Interestingly Canadian.

Well if you never made Nanaimo bars your missing out I'm Canadian but just cannot get into the Nanaimo bar love. Never liked them, even though they are served at every gathering you go to whether wedding, funeral, Easter, potluck, what have you. Yuck, not for me, too sweet, or something. Lol.

We found maple cotton candy on a road trip in Canada this summer (at a sugar shack in the middle of nowhere with no people to be found, just a sign on the door that said take what you want and leave the money in the jar--how Canadian!) It was the most delicious thing ever, and now I crave it.
I haven't had Canadian maple butter, but I make my own when ever I make a turkey to based the turkey in. It's delicious!

Tell me more about this. Is it like maybe a jelly or apple butter? I assume it's for toast?
I think I need maple cotton candy in my life.

It's delicious. I tried it at a biscuit restaraunt (yes we have those for no good reason). The biscuits were awful but I wanted to take the butter home in my napkin.

I,think I may be declared a bad Canadian, because I will never understand the appeal of Smarties. M&M's are so much better.

I've never heard of Maple Butter. I guess they hide it from northern Canadians?? Oh well, I have Smarties, ketchup chips and Nanamio bars to keep me happy, those are my favourite Canadian food things.

Tell me more about this. Is it like maybe a jelly or apple butter? I assume it's for toast? I think I need maple cotton candy in my life. I think a real Canadian needs to explain it. It's like creamy melted maple fudge. I put it on cinnamon toast and I about fainted with joy. I like maple syrup, but I don't otherwise love maple things. It's because I never had maple butter, I imagine. Oh wait. Maple bacon. I do love maple bacon. Maybe I just need to start slathering maple on things!
