Yes there is a difference between someone spouting off on a message board about being annoyed with any protestors impeding traffic and someone actually killing people because of their skin color. IMHO

IMHO I acknowledged that difference but do note she made the statement and then defended it. I bet at some point Fields "spouted off" about something maybe his mother didn't think he was capable of. Over 20 peas agreed with her sentiment. Stop making excuses and then acting all shocked when horrible things like yesterday's riot (not rally) happens. |

The fact is we have to drive defensively. You can ignore the people on the overpass. You can ignore the person walking up and down the sidewalk wearing a pizza costume advertising their business. You can ignore all the huge flashing billboards along the highways and interstates advertising a multitude of things. Why are protestors (who are NOT blocking traffic) any different?

How is this thread not a relevant bump for TODAY? I don't need to qualify why I do anyrhing on a public messageboard but It's incredibly insensitive to think my sole purpose here is to say I told you so. These types of behaviors people want to brush under a rug is exactly why three people are dead. What would my life be like if I was wrong papercrafteradvocate ? Are there no racist peas on this board? I know we've been denying it exists in society until now but do realize I can't make words other people type on a screen any more racist than what they actually are. You can excuse it or argue with the only black pea on this messageboard but trust me behaviors speak for themselves. |

Are you sure you didn't mean to say " I'd want to hit 'em."? Because going to jail is not worth it.  We have candidates & supporters waving signs from overpasses as much as we have any protest group. I've never heard of any issues with them causing accidents. I don't read specific signs, but usually can see/read enough to know why they are there. these were yard sign sized signs and very hard to read at that angle going 75mph (Ds in the passenger seat read them for me). I know my eyes left the road for a moment or two and it wasn't safe. But surely the onus is on you to keep our eyes on the road and drive with due care and attention. No one is forcing you to read the signs above you, that is your choice and not a very safe one at that. ETA: Oops old thread should have checked the date! |
