Just an FYI: They counseled and screened all families before sending them home with their forever families.

It was awesome!! I posted on my FB page about it as well as in my neighborhoods FB group in case any neighbors were considering adding to their families. I don't know yet if anyone I know adopted or not. I have one friend that sent my link to his wife and asked [HASH] 3?" and I know they were seriously considering it. What an awesome day for all the pups and kitties that found families. I hope that with this event, this opens up space for those that didn't get adopted to buy them more time to find their families.

We are considering adopting another, but it's through a rescue and they were not participating. We do have an email into to them for more info. We will see soon if it is meant to be!

That is awesome. I worked our groups adoption event all weekend. We brought home another foster tonight. She is in the backyard playing with my son right now. I love seeing the rescues go home with their hopefully forever family.

I was so excited that this was such a successful event for our local shelters. I hope they do it again, perhaps on a once a year basis.
I was trying to convince my husband that we should go and adopt a new kitty but he wasn't buying it.

That is great. I love that all those animals will have a home.
I know that the Humane Societies can be expensive, but since the cost of a spay/neuter and first shots are included, I think the ones around here are a bargain. Lower cost can be a tipping point for people, I know we adopted one of our cats when they had a $10 adult cat special.

I wish they would do a nationwide free spay/neuter day!

I wish they would do a nationwide free spay/neuter day! A couple of times a year would be nice. Our local one has a low cost clinic once a month and it is always full.

That came up on my newsfeed today on FB!!! I follow so many shelters and was so so happy to see this earlier. Just adopting my Jaxson and wondering how I lived without him makes me so happy to know so many strays are home tonight in warm cozy safe homes.

That's an incredible number of adoptions-wonderful news! I wish DH would allow me to adopt another pet-we have 3 cats and he's said no more.
