Happy Tuesday! It is starting to feel like spring here. Sending you all lots of our sunlight today. I was bummed last night. You guessed it, the M's class was cancel. So the manager gave me a special coupon for coming out. That was so kind of her. So I ended up just shopping and enjoying the store instead. They had some nice sales so I got more paper. This made me think about my fav lss that closed. I used to love shopping there and getting the nice high quality and name brand paper. It really is a shame so many of these stores have closed. So this week I hope to work on more cards and baking. I still gotta get my photos printed so I can do some scrappin. I was trying to print them on the Walmart site but for some reason it wasn't uploading some of my pictures. So I gotta try again or find another site. @lisdv- Your dog sounds like me when bad weather hits. LOL! I hope you and your dd get to take that jewelry class. That sounds like it would be fun for both of you. You asked what I will be baking this week. I saw a video of a lemon raspberry cake and I am going to try it. This is gonna be my first homemade cake in like forever. I hope it comes out good. Fingers crossed. Waving hi to you sweet peas and have a nice day!

Too bad about the class being cancelled, LisaDV. I hope you got some good stuff with your coupon! I get to go to a LSS tomorrow, so looking forward to that. I have used a lot of stuff this past couple of months, but you wouldn't know it by looking at the size of my stash. But I think some of the new product will be in by now, so I am sure I will be replenishing more than just glue and page protectors! LisaDV and maribeth and the others are running me ragged with Calvinball. Had the house to myself (dh had a meeting) so I finished 4 more pages today. One more double pager on the boys, and then I need to switch gears. I have some cooking/baking pages to do, and also quite a few skating lessons and hockey. Might have to take a day to clean my scraproom up a bit once the last little boy page is finished. Then I can pull out supplies with the different themes I need. Here are 2 of today's pages: daddy's boys by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Daddy's Boys2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr The first is for KikiPea's scraplift challenge. The second is a diagonal design I have seen a lot of on Pinterest lately and wanted to try.

kellyr21, sorry your class was canceled. Yummy to lemon raspberry cake. That sounds so good. Do you take photos of your baked creations? grammadee, I love the gears on Daddy's Boys. Cute pages. Today starts Girls Weekend. DD & I will be leaving in 15 minutes for her appointment and then a nice lunch out. I think we'll be watching a movie and having sushi for dinner, and then I'll read to her. We're reading "Little Women" right now. She's read the abridged version before but not the original. She keeps saying that wasn't in the version I read - I like this better. ha. Tomorrow we'll set up the tables and start gelli printing. Hurray! I'm at 37 pages for the month of March. Crazy, right?? Most were from my sick recovery day. I totally need another one of those. Tomorrow I'll see about creating another layout before dd wakes and putting in my totals. I also hope to take some photos of my traditional pages. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Just checking in to let you know I'm alive. I have had a couple of days of stomach flu, which slowed me W-A-Y down. Hoping to get back to school tomorrow. Keep all those layouts coming. kellyr21 , I'm sorry they cancelled your class. Let us know how your lemon raspberry cake turns out. My mouth is watering! LisaDV, congrats on being a Pearl Clutcher!

Hey ladies. I've been lurking this week. Monday I started to get symptoms of DH's cold. I wish he'd kept it to himself. So far it hasn't been too bad. I've been able to work and even go out for supper with grammadee yesterday. Right now my DayQuil is wearing off so I think I'm going to head home a tiny bit early. LisaDV have fun with your girls' weekend. Your Calvinball score is so impressive. nylene I hope you have recovered. kellyr21 your cake sounds yummy. Good luck with it. Since I'm half-heartedly trying to eat healthier, I haven't been baking and I miss it. Thank goodness the weekend is almost here.

Hi Peas! It sounds like the bugs ae going around! nylene nice to hear you are recovering and @ Justjac I hope you turn it around too. I was a little under the weather yesterday with some vertigo and then a migraine. Better today though. Then I ave been having trouble with the browser on my computer. I hate edge, Firefox had funky lines going here and there and was crashing, and Chrome came in with a virus that kept popping up and I was afraid I would accidentally click on it. Well it is late so I will be back tomorrow and chat a little more. Trying to stay caught up with Calvinball. The wind was so bad here yesterday it left thousands without power. Tonight we are supposed to get 3-4 inches of snow. The wind was so bad semi trucks were blowing over on the highway. One tree fell on a school yard and injured a little boy but he is doing good today.

Good Thursday evening, ladies. Hope you are feeling better, nylene and scrapincin, and that your cold doesn't get any worse, justjac. Hope your Girl Time goes well, LisaDV. And just thinking about that lemon raspberry cake makes me hungry, kellyr21. I had kind of a slow day. Not sick. Just feeling a little stodgy. And dh was home all day, and is doing research about some plumbing and painting work he wants done on the house, so I didn't get much time to scrap. I got a couple of pages started and another kind of planned. Hope to get going again tomorrow. Mostly I have been pinning tons of pages on Pinterest, waiting for the perfect one to grab my imagination. It is really cold here this week: -30C which is about -20F. Not a lot of snow falling, but winter definitely does not want to leave yet. But one of the pages I want to start tomorrow is a title page for my Spring album. My Winter one is overflowing, and I am thinking any photos from March can go into a spring album. Will be getting to experience spring--and hopefully get some spring-like photos--in BC later this month, as ds has asked me to come out to Abbotsford for a few days to spend with the girls. Anyway, I am off to bed soon. All this sitting around doing nothing plays a person out!

scrapincin , I'm sorry to hear that you have been sick. Your winds sound like the kind we often get in March. I'm sorry about the child hurt by the falling tree. That's really scary. justjac , I hope you are feeling much better. You can't be sick during Calvinball! grammadee , you are such a busy lady that you deserve to have a stodgy day! I pinned a bunch of your pins and followed one of your boards. Keep up the good work! LOL! Your cold weather makes me shudder. It was actually 61 degrees today for about an hour. We have rain coming in now and the temp has dropped. But it gives hope of spring. I have done a quick layout using Anj's Christmas card. Probably the fastest layout I have ever done. Very simple. Merry and Bright (edit) by Nylene Budge, on Flickr I will try to get back to chat later this weekend. Seems like I can't keep up with everything lately. Have a safe and happy weekend, Pokeys!

Hi all! Hope you are starting your weekend off right! I am feeling much better vertigo is gone and so is the migraine. Glad to see you are back on the healthy list Nylene! We got snow but only a little bit, not 3-4 inches. Kids got out ear;ly today so teachers could record grades before they left for home. I have not been able to get scrapping done but I did get Maggie to work on a project and I will post it for her. I bought it a long time ago for her and then never got it done! It is a little handbag photo album. I was glad to see her working on as she doesn't like scrapping much anymore. She is really into sketching. ok be back later!

Good Friday evening. Glad you ladies are feeling better. Love your page, nylene. I see maribeth has been busy in the Calvinball gallery with her courthouse pages and sets of cards. I know I can't keep up this pace for the rest of the month, but am happy with my 21 pages over there. I made homemade beef barley soup today in a crock pot to take to a neighbour who's son died in a vehicle accident this past week. He was under 40, and played hockey with one of our sons. The funeral is not until next weekend, and I think our ds will be coming home for that. That is a loss of two fairly young men from this tiny community in the past month. Dh & I are going over tomorrow to visit with the parents. (Today's drop off was a quick in and out, as they had a house full of people). We may end up housing some of their family next weekend. We plan to offer that tomorrow. If we are taken up on that offer, this next week will be a busy one trying to make this neglected house habitable again. Good thing I got a good head start in Calvinball! (Well a good head start on everyone except LisaDV and maribeth!)

I really am loving all the little details you are adding to your courthouse pages this year, maribeth. I need to go back over the CB gallery and look at the latest crop in detail. I was trying to find a little space on my scrap counter today and found some photos I had weeded out when scrapping Christmas and my birthday. Ended up doing a couple of quick pages with them rather than discarding them. You've seen this photo before on a different page, but I decided to scrap it again to put into my All About Me album. Haven't done a page for that book in years, but I thought a milestone bd should qualify. I had a pinned page I had wanted to lift, and I used the supplies in the March diy kit crystalb challenged us to make. I also had a couple of tags I had been playing with TH Oxide inks on, so I threw these on there as well. It was like when you make "Cleaning Out the Fridge" soup, and everything goes into the pot. Got a clear spot on my desk, some pages to add to the count, and some stash put to good use! i got my wish by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Hope you all had a restful Sunday. I was able to do some scrapping today, putting together some quick pages. I am having fun using up all the scanner strips from my very old pad of Sassafras Lass pp. It's funny that I purchased the pad because I loved those strips, and then I never used them--I guess waiting for a special occasion! Anyway, the colours are matching the papers I have been using (much of which I had set aside in my diy kit), and I am having fun fitting in these strips. Here are two of the pages I finished today. The other two were very photo heavy, and I uploaded to Calvinball only. home from school1 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Home from school by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

I got 7 pages done this weekend. I will try to get them uploaded tomorrow. I am up to 160 points for Calvinball. I am trailing in grammadee LisaDV and maribeth 's dust, but I'm still happy. I am now up to 12 pages which equals one per day on average. That was my goal.

Happy Monday! The boys made it home safely yesterday afternoon. They had a great time. I've spent the morning doing dishes and cleaning up the mess dd & I made over the weekend. We had 2 tables set up in the living room and lots of my craft items brought out. We had a very good time, although she was hurting yesterday and didn't get much accomplished. I, on the other hand, finished 8 pages on Saturday and 7 on Sunday. I have one page laid out now on my craft counter that uses one of my gelli plate prints from Friday too. Today has been a day off from school for them while dd is still not doing well and ds needed the extra rest and to put his things away. I would have hoped to get more things accomplished today, but this whole daylight savings puts me a dither every year. I say we do away with it. scrapincin & nylene, glad you are both feeling better. justjac, sorry you have to deal with that yucky cold. Good job on keeping up a layout a day, especially after just completing LOAD in February. scrapincin, We had that wind even up here last week on Tues. and Wed. My garbage can blew away. We searched and couldn't find it. Then the next morning while letting the dogs out, there it was. I guess the wind decided we needed it and brought it back. So I put it in the right spot and tried to block it in. The cold has been back since, and I'm not liking it at all. nylene, grammadee and maribeth, love the pages you've shared here. grammadee, sorry to hear about your neighbor boy. That's very sweet of you to offer to house their family. It's 5:22. I should be in the midst of dinner prep, but all I can think of is it's not for another hour. Did I already grumble about the time change?! But I guess I should try to see what else is up in other areas of the forum.

Happy Monday! We had a nice weekend. We went to visit my in-laws and had a good time. My fil is a photographer by hobby. He was so generous to give me one of his precious digi cameras. A very nice one! I was so touched and surprised. I got all the info about it so I can learn how to work it. I am excited to see how it helps me take better pictures and it does video too.
Well, my lemon cake with fresh raspberry filling was... terrible! LOL! It looked pretty when it was decorated but the cake part was almost as firm like short cake. I think it was the recipe and partly me still being new to the craft. I tried not to over mix the batter and maybe my baking powder was flat. Not sure because the layers were very flat. The two layers were to be tall enough to cut each in half to create a four layered cake.
On the positive, I love how my icing came out. It was sooo much better than my first one. So, I think I am going to play around with different cake recipes until I find one I like in taste and texture. Any suggestions?
I had to laugh when I told my dh the cake might disappear today (into the trash) and he was trying to be kind but was glad he doesn't need to eat any more of it!!! LOL! I am learning baking just takes practice like most things.

This week's projects include ordering some pics, more cards and trying another cake or cupcake recipe. Along with some other routine things this should be a good week.
So sorry to hear several of you were sick over the last week or two. I hope you are all feeling better. Sending hugs!
Oh boy look at all the scrapping going on here. That CB really got you girls moving. I hope you are reaching your goals.
Well, take care and have a good one!

Good Monday evening, Ladies. Ooooh, kellyr21 , that cake LOOKS scrumptious! What did you use for filling, besides the raspberries? Too bad the cake itself didn't work out. I find that white cakes tend to be either heavy or very crumbly for me: I prefer cakes with other ingredients, like bananas or zucchini or chocolate. Keep working at it though. You will find a recipe and a technique that works for you. Great pages, justjac . I left some love in the CB Gallery. I would really like to see more of LisaDV 's pages there as well. I completed two pages today that have taken me over a year to do! Last February I took the photos of my grandkids having a really intense invented game, and I thought the pic's would work really well for Calvinball--because the game was a lot LIKE Calvinball from the comics. Anyway, I didn't find a Calvin & Hobbes image that really worked before CB was done last year. Even looked again during the April crop, but never did scrap the photos. Anyway, Debbie Hodge from Get It Sctapped included an image I liked in her writeup about cB in the weekly newsletter this week. So I grabbed it and printed it and finally finished the LO. I've attached it below. So I have one more page to finish to complete my goal for the month, and I have it started this evening. I spent the rest of the day cleaning my scraproom. Couldn't find anything, and if I do get back to scrapping in the next few days it will be with a completely different set of photos and stories and papers. We may have overnight company this coming weekend, and this house needs a 911 type intervention before that happens. Started by putting all the sheets through the laundry today. I am thinking if I do a section of the house every day, ending with a major clean of the kitchen and a floor wash on Friday I should be ready. Attachments:

nylene - you Christmas Card layout is so very elegant. You call it simple, and it probably is, but your picked all the right elements to make this look like you spent hours on it, it looks just that perfect. grammadee , justjac , and LisaDV - I will be commenting on your pages over at Calvinball - hope to get a chance to catch up in the gallery over there today. Yesterday was a bear at work. I was the only one there (the other ladies had the day off), and the owner and I had a conference call with the CPA regarding depletion on our quarries, and this is only abbout the third time since he met with us in person that we have had to re-hash this issue. It is a very complicated formula/calculation and I appreciate he (the CPA) want to get it right but boy I am tired of talking about depletion. kellyr21 - What a beautiful cake. My mouth is watering. Waving hello to @scapincin I forgot to post these photos of card, I also did these on day two of Calvinball. I have been maximizing my time as much as possible, and can't believe I have been up until at least 10PM most night, which most of you know is a record for me as I an usually in bed very early. The cards came from a Creative Memories card kit, and I killed it (another point for me). Actually as of right now I have killed 3 card kits, 1 Ann Griffin scrapbook page kit, I completed all the post office photos I have on hand (printed), and last night I finished my Home Sweet Home project documenting all the places I lived. (Disclaimer, when I post those pages you may choose not to read the journalling as the stories are a bit on the disturbing side as my life back then wash pretty tumultuous).

Hey just a quick stop to let you know I am fine just busy! We are in the midst of a major snowstorm-like everyone else. I updated my photoshop from 11 to 15. I think I am going to love it. You can do corrections etc on a batch of photos all at one time. You can also fix squinted eyes or turn a frown upside down. I got about half of your ladies beautiful pages and will finish up later.
You all have been so busy! I can't keep up! LOL well I will stop back later today!

Like scrapincin , I have been busy. I got a call on Sat. that we would have Steve's sister and BIL arriving on Monday. I had done nothing in the guest room since the last Cousin Camp and even had some Christmas still stored in there until I could put it where it goes. I worked like crazy to get it ready and then had to do the rest of the house to a point that it was "clean enough". We had a wonderful visit with them yesterday and they left today. They will return next week on their way back home to Oregon. I finished all the boxes for school and need to get back to scrapping. I'm always less stressed when I am scrapping. I hurried and finished my cards for Card Club on Thursday. I also spent 3 hours on Sat. teaching my friend how to index WW2 draft registration cards. We pull up the card on the computer and type all the info so that it can be searched by name, year, state, etc. It's really fun to do and becomes another addiction. LOL! All I need is another addiction. I am loving your layouts, maribeth , justjac and grammadee . LisaDV , I hope yours are posted in the gallery. I haven't made it over that way yet. kellyr21 , I am so sorry about your cake. I know you will find one that works for you. Anytime I try a new recipe I feel that same way. That could be why I HATE to cook. I have faith in you! Keep trying. It looked delicious! I'd better run. Lots to do. I am looking forward to Spring Break in 2 weeks so we can go to Angie's. I plan to just relax and enjoy the kids. scrapincin, we have 70 degree, beautiful weather today. Can you believe that? I'm sorry all you in that area are getting storms. Ours will be coming again soon, but for now it feels great.

oh, that stinks about the cake, kellyr21, but it did look really pretty. Since dd is gluten, egg, dairy, etc. free, I have only made those cakes or when making for ds ones that he likes which is a chocolate cheese cake or chocolate sheet cake. DS likes a lot of variety there, haha. Practice is the best. justjac, love your pages, especially the baby love. Such a cutie. I do share my pages, I've just been too busy creating to share. grammadee, Love the CB layout. You must have put that rule in about using CB as a title or having the page be out the game. I don't have any company, but I could use a 911 in my house too. But. must. make. scrapbook. layouts.... maribeth, those cards are absolutely gorgeous! love them all. scrapincin, I have pse15 on my computer. I've not tried batch editing with it, good to know. Sorry you're getting snow. I'm glad we are not though! Stay warm and safe. nylene, I'm jealous of your warm weather. I bet the teachers were very appreciative of your boxes. I just bought a lightbox and lights which just came today, to hopefully take better photos of my traditional pages since our house is so dark. Winter brings constant gray skies in seems to Michigan, although today is actually sunny. I hope to get it up tomorrow and then I can upload to the gallery. Of course, it means I'll be spending the next several days trying to catch up at the CB gallery. I was trying to at least get through my vacation photos before I uploaded the digital pages. I'm currently working on page 60 for the month. Lots of stories told. hurray!

I forgot to tell you some good news. Our #1 granddaughter, Megan, got engaged on Sat. It was Randy's b-day on Sat and he told her his parents gave them a ride together in a helicopter. (something he has really wanted). They flew up the canyon, around past the Falls and circled the pasture behind his house, where his family and her family had spread out a huge MARRY ME sign. The helicopter landed and he got down on one knee. Of course she said, "Yes!" The helicopter pilot then took her siblings and his siblings for rides around the valley. Wedding is May 20 in Payson LDS Temple.

What a lovely romantic story, nylene ! So sweet that he did that for her! Good to know you are feeling better, scrapincin. You are unbelievable with a computer!!! I never did figure out how to use Photoshop after I upgraded the first version I had. Just found a page I printed a few years ago with b&w photos of our first 6 dgks' baby pictures, rounded and blurred around the edges. Was thinking I would like to do a page with the youngest 5 like that, but although I remember DOING that, I don't for the life of me remember how--even if the steps were the same as they used to be! Today I met my March goal here and my Calvinball goal of completing 31 pages this month. I tidied up my scraproom this afternoon. Got all my dies back into their packages and back into their containers. Tools are back in the drawer, as are the Winter and Little Boy papers & extras. At least when I start scrapping again I should be able to find what I need. Not much chance I will be scrapping the rest of the month, so leaving the CB points totals to LisaDV , maribeth , justjac and the rest of the Peas that are playing along over there. Tomorrow I need to make the 4 bedrooms upstairs in this house livable. Sheets and towels are freshly washed; now they need to find their way onto beds and into linen closets. Wouldn't it be wonderful if you could just dial 911, declare a housework emergency, and then just sit back and listen for the sirens?

Good morning Pokeys! Hope all is well with everyone! I need to do some household chaores today but also try to get into my scrap room. nylene Congrats to your grand daughter! How exciting to have a wedding coming up! I a sure good enough for you is perfect! Enjoy your guests I don't worry about the house-unless they are bringing their white glove! grammadee hope you enjoy your weekend and how nice of you to offer to house folks coming for the funeral. If you need help with Photoshop just ask I will be more then happy to help you with something. I digi scrapped mostly for a couple of years as I was taking online classes. Plus I go to a site called eHow and get a lot of answers to questions and problems that arise with computers. will be leaving you some love for your latest posting! maribeth I can not believe how many pages you have done! You will be wearing yuour self out with all that scrapping! LOL Beautiful layouts and I will leaving you some love in the gallery too. kellyr21 sorry you did not like your cake! It was beautiful but not if you don't like it. Was it to bitter or too lemony? LisaDV There are tutorials at Adobe to show you how to do things and you can use the guided section of the editor. Hard to step away from Calvinball. And they are adding PLAID today, I think You don't NEED me over there, maribeth! And I won't be gone; just not creating much the rest of the month. Now that I am over 550 points, I would really like to break the 600 barrier, but if I am getting points only for commenting @ 1 point per 10 comments, YOU need to post a LOT of LO's and cards to get me there! I plan to print the final list of CB rules and keep it with my "Ideas"--sketches, recent magazines, little notes of my own, printouts of some pages I have pinned--to take with me to the April crop.

Happy Wednesday! It was a good day and hope you all had a good one too. Thanks for all the baking encouragement. I know I will finally find some good recipes. My dh's bday is this weekend so I gotta make a card and maybe a few other things for him. Oh, last night we went to M's and while we there in the line we saw one of the gals at the register waving hello to us. She is one of the regulars and very friendly when we run into her. So when we went to the other lady to pay, we told us that we got 50% because the friendly cashier gave that to us. Wasn't that sooo sweet??? I just love that place. scrapincin- The taste of the frosting and cake was lemony enough. It was just the texture of the cake was toooo firm and didn't taste light and... "cakey." LOL! nylene- What a romantic proposal for your dgd!!!! I know you all must be so excited and looking forward to the wedding. Also, I know you are happy to get all those boxes done. LisaDV- Since your dd can't have gluten treats, have you played around with any alternatives she can have? I do vaguely remember you mentioned your ds made a gluten free cake, right? maribeth- Oh my, you have been scrapping away. I gotta get over there to your Flickr page and see all your creations up close. So girl!

maribeth I love how your courthouse pages are obviously part of a single project, but each page is pretty in it's own way. Beautiful job! nylene and grammadee good luck with your cleaning.I have been doing a little (very little) every day this week to try and make up for doing nothing last week. kellyr21 that is so nice about M's. scrapincin I have photoshop elements 12 and have started some digi scrapping, but I've never actually edited a photo with it. I will have to check out a class some time. I hope the storm doesn't hit you too hard. We're actually melting this week, but we won't truly have spring for at least a month or more. No one plants their gardens until near the end of May here. LisaDV I've been thinking about buying something to make talking pics of layout easier. Let me know how it goes for you. I made a digi page yesterday. It wasn't worth as many points as my paper ones, but it is one I have had planned for a while. I can't wait for the weekend. I am going to scrap up a storm again. DH and I are almost over our colds which is a big relief. Have a great end of your week! W.I.S.S. by Jacqueline Bruce, on Flickr
