I just bought my son 2 baby turkeys! I paid more for them than the frozen birds, so these are going to be pets.
But, they are needy! They don't want to be left alone and they let you know it! He is going to be run ragged by them.

Turkeys are my faves after chickens. The live in the wooded hill behind our house; they hang around our bird feeders in the winter and the toms do their mating dance in the backyard.

Turkeys are wild here. SERIOUSLY! We have TONS of them! The other day, DH went out to find one "fighting" with himself in the chrome bumper of his truck. It went on for over an hour! LOL
Baby turkeys are SUPER cute tho! We get them thru our yard all the time. I had a few get stuck in our yard and had to help them get out. Mom just watched me and was ready to attack if I got too close or looked like I was going to harm them.

The duck is locked up today. I am outside picking up garbage and he is trying to kill me.

We have loads of wild ones here too. A couple springs back, I took a pic of a flock of them at the back of our yard to send to DH. Even after a bunch of the little ones ran under the low brush when I took the pic, I still counted about 28 of them!

We have wild turkeys around here which are pretty mean, but dgs's other grandparents raised turkeys for food and it was fun to drive up, get out of my car and they would all run from one end of the pen to greet me, and oh boy the noise!
