I'm just curious about how many people use Macs vs Microsoft computers, no other reason.

DH was in graphics for 25 years. I had no choice!! I really didn't care much one way or the other. then I went back to work and back to a PC and started saying things like this.and realized I had officially been converted.

We use PCs at home because dh likes to build the machines himself.
DS is a CompSci major. In high school, he (and his ap class) "fixed" the apple computers to run microsoft. On his computer, he runs Linux.

All Mac at home since the early 2000s. Unfortunately so far it's always been PCs at work.

I've used Apples since the early 80’s when I was a little kid.
My work computer is a Mac mini, I use my personal iPad at school, i have an android tablet at school, my students and I all I se chromebooks at school.
My home computer is a MacBook Pro and I use my iPad at home. My DD has my old iPad.
DH's home computers are Dell desktop and Toshiba laptop. He detests macs.
The funny thing with all this technology is that I still have a FLIP PHONE! Lol

Apple. I have to use Windows at work and it is painful. So funny, I'm the exact opposite! About 5 years ago I decided I *had* to have a Mac at home, I'm not sure why. It is a nice computer, but there are enough things that irritate me that I won't buy another. In fact, I often bring my laptop home from work so I can use it instead of my home computer.

We converted to Apple at home about 10 years ago, buying an iMac and adding 3 Macbooks over the years. DH has a work laptop at home and uses PC at work. They use iPads on work sites though, so he is sort of hybrid.

Mac at home, PC at work. iOS for both.
Switching my husband to a Mac a couple years ago was the best decision I ever made. I'm the family tech support and the work I have to do on his computer dropped from multiple times a week to maybe every couple months.

I've been using Apple at home since the late 80's. My SO likes PC because he likes to tinker with the machines.
At work, I use a PC. I am a heavy Excel user at work and I do find that I prefer using Excel on a PC because I am use to the keystrokes and shortcuts on a PC. When I try to use Excel on my Mac I get frustrated because I am so used to the PC.

I have a MacBook Pro from 2011 still going strong and no viruses. Who can say that about their windows laptop that goes in the internet regularly.

i've been a PC user since 1994. I switched to a Mac 3 months ago. I was a pretty early adopter to the ipod (2003) and eventually moved to an iphone with the iphone 4. I use a PC at work.

PC at home, Mac at work. I will say that the Mac is from 2009, and the only complaint I have is that the battery doesn't last as long as it used to.
I used to prefer Microsoft Word on the PC, but the changes in the last iteration have slowed me down quite a bit, which is a PITA. I'm guessing that I'd get up to speed faster if I weren't also using the Mac.

When I try to use Excel on my Mac I get frustrated because I am so used to the PC. And many macros don't work on the Mac version of Excel (or they didn't 5ish years ago). My old company tried to move to Macs 7-8 years ago. It was a small company and our IT company had a hard time managing viruses on the PCs. They proposed moving to Macs - total disaster. It wasn't just Excel - there were several other programs which didn't run or didn't run well on Macs. We ended up having to run Windows through BootCamp. it just sucked. Which system you prefer really has as much to do with what programs you use regularly than anything else - or it does when you regularly use a program that doesn't run well on the other system.

My favorite and most used is my mac. But we have an HP pc touchscreen in the kitchen - I use it for occasional facebook/email checking, recipes, and to watch Netflix on. I have a PC in the office, but i can't tell you the last time i turned that on.
I am currently on my brand new Mac book pro. It is bittersweet, my beloved 17 inch Mac Book pro died 2 weeks ago and we finally broke down and ordered me a new one. I really wanted to salvage the old one, since they no longer make the 17 inch. But it was going to cost +$300 to replace the video card and apple said they would be considering it obsolete in less than a year and they were very surprised nothing else had failed yet. It is 5+ years old, so I feel like I got my money out of it.
I have always been an apple girl. That is what we always had at home growing up. I love them so much! And i am so sad that apple is no longer making stand alone monitors. They are selling LG 4K ones instead, just not the same!

My first Mac back in the '80's was a Mac SE with a 20k hard drive. 20K! Hard to believe that now. I'm currently using an 27" iMac. My husband uses a Windows laptop and I've had to learn a bit about that system since he is nearly 100% computer illiterate. I'm his tech support and what I don't know I'm pretty good at finding out.
