This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . There are no prizes for this challenge, just a chance to enjoy the works of other Pokey Peas Refugees. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

So sad it is the end of Calvinball - I finished 3rd. Congrats to LisaDV at 2nd grammadee at 5th msliz at 12th and justjac at 17th. It was really a fun event. And I really, really want something similar in July or August when I can devote all my nights and weekends to the creation of pages. .....on another note Mr. John E Decon Courthouses.co and Mr. Jimmy Emerson Jimmy Emerson have both given me permission to use their extensive catalog of County Courthouse photos for my scrapbooking project. I am so excited that now I have the opportunity to actually get close to completing the goal of having 3,144+ (historic and current) scrapbook pages. Had a wonderful facial today. then highlights for my hair, and then I had to drive home in a snowstorm (not something I usually do). Camping starts next weekend.....Yay! Love you guys Maribeth

Happy weekend all! It has been beautiful out here and I hope to got out more tomorrow to enjoy. I am in Spring cleaning mode and have lots to do around here. After binge watching "Flip or Flop" home show I decided to get our home cleaned up and hopefully I can get more decorating done a little at a time. So I did jump into it yesterday and today I was pooped out. LOL!
Here is my art from the church paint party. It was so fun painting with all these ladies. Mine turned out ok. Not great but not bad compared to the teachers sample.
Flowers in Mason Jars by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr
maribeth- Congrats to you and the other Peas that did great in the Calvin Ball. After all that work having a facial and hair day sounds like a perfect treat.
nylene- Thanks for the new thread! Hope your weather has warmed up.
LisaDV- I hope to do some more baking or I should say experimenting this week. LOL! Sounds like your ds is a future chemist or chef. So cool he is brave to try things in the kitchen. Bravo!
Waving hello to you all and have a nice weekend!

Thanks for the thread nylene . Have a wonderful trip. maribeth , camping starts next weekend but you had a snow storm today??? I'd be worried about mother natures cooperation this year. I hope she behaves herself and you get lovely weather! So sad it is the end of Calvinball - I finished 3rd. Congrats to lisadv at 2nd grammadee at 5th msliz at 12th and justjac at 17th. It was really a fun event. Yes, Congrats to all our peas who participated!! It was a great production month for myself, but left me little time for anything else, and after so many layouts, I'm kind of done, finished, kaputt. Definitely ready for it to be over. kellyr21, Lovely painting! I will leave love in the gallery after posting here. Kelly's painting reminds me, I saw that a winery is doing a wine and paint later in April (29th). DH & I were going to sign up and have a "date". Yesterday, I ran an errand in town and before I was home felt like I had a fever. Spent the rest of the afternoon/evening in the comfy chair under several blankets, while the kids were outside first without and then with jackets since it was at least 50 and beautifully sunny. That just makes it worse when your sick - to have nice weather! ugh! Of course, I had a whole cleaning plan for yesterday that didn't happen. Today is my turn for church with ds so I'll be out most of the day. Since I can tell I still don't feel well I don't know what the day holds in store and have to play by ear. (Yes, Don offered to go in my place, but he's FINALLY working on his business account for the tax guy. I can't let him out of that. It's been stressing me out for the last month and half that it's not done yet. Seriously, my shoulders have been in complete knots. Plus even though he really hasn't worked on it, he's taken up the kitchen table with it for the last 3 weeks, which means we have to eat everywhere else.) I hope everyone else is healthy and enjoying nice weather! Happy April!

Good morning Pokeys! Well I have been working with tech support both at HP and Microsoft and hopefully I will stop getting the blue screen of death and my computer will stop crashing. And Nylene yesterday I would have loved to have your DSIL as all of the tech support charge you these days. I wish I had bought the same computer I just had because I had few problems with it. This one has been crashing ever since I got it 4 months ago. Sounds like all of you girls did great with Calvinball. Wow you all did a lot of creating! maribeth I can't believe how many courthouse pages you have done. Congrats to grammadee , LisaDV, msliz and and justjac ! You all deserve a lot of praise! kellyr21 I love your art piece! You did a wonderful job with it and I hope you hang it where everyone can enjoy it when they visit your home. I hope to maybe get some scraping done today and do not get another tech support headache! Be back later Oh and nylene thanks so much for the new thread and have fun on your little getaway! I am sure Sammie is keeping you busy!

Just checking in before crawling into bed. Just this one more sleep before heading home. Dh & I watched 5 games of curling on the weekend. Didn't get back here until 11:00pm Sunday evening. This morning he had to be at the cardiologist's office by 7:00am, so we were on the road by 6:00. He had a couple of tests today, and then a couple more tomorrow. Don't need to be out of here until 7:00 tomorrow. After his appointments, we plan to stop at Costco, then swing by dd's house before the drive home. It's sad to say farewell to calvinball, maribeth, but like all good things, we wouldn't appreciate it nearly as much if it happened every day all year. I think I will print off the "rules" list, and use it--along with the 2peas and maybe some ACOT challenges--as inspiration for our April crop. I hope you are having a wonderful time with family, nylene . Love your wood grain and mason jars, kellyr21 . hope you get your computer figured out, scrapincin. It is SOOO frustrating when they don't work!

Happy Tuesday! It is lovely here today. Thanks for all the praise on my mason jar painting. It was fun and hope to do another party like this again. I am still doing some Spring cleaning and things are looking better. I have an old computer and tv I need to get rid of. I wanted my dh to see if there is any old info on the hard drive I want to delete. Not sure how to delete everything but maybe Ron will know. Plan on doing some cards and maybe a little scrapping. I finally ordered my pictures and ready to scrap! Also, I want to try a new basic cake recipe this week. I saw there is a baking class at one of our local adult schools next month. I sure hope I can take it. LisaDV- Hope you are feeling better and glad to see the temps are warming up there. grammadee- Hang in there! Hope your dh is ok. scrapincin- I don't like computer trouble either. Is your better now? Waving hi to all you sweet peas and have a nice evening!

Nice to hear from you, kellyr21! Good luck with your cake! Dh is ok. He wasn't recovering from the flu as quickly as he had hoped, and one of the things he was having trouble with was shortness of breath, so his doctor referred him to a specialist. He hadn't seen a cardiologist for quite awhile, so this one wanted to do a bunch of tests. They are trying to find a balance of various meds that treat type 2 diabetes and arrhythmia and a few other conditions. As scrapincin knows, sometimes a med you take for one condition can cause problems with another one. Results won't be back for a few days. LisaDV, I hope you are feeling better. I was really shivery this morning, but decided to blame it on two really early mornings and the stress of driving a very nervous passenger around a city. I put my heated seat on in the vehicle and had it on for the whole way home. I have no time to be sick. Have 3 days to get my tax info all into an envelope for dh to take to the accountant, and then I am off to Ontario for a week with dd & her family to help with child care while they are house hunting and checking into supports for the little man down there. I am really happy to be home this evening and am looking forward to a long sleep in my own bed.

Thought I would show you a couple of pages. The first was my last hurrah for Calvinball, and was completed and photographed last week. I posted it then in the Calvinball gallery, but not over here. Eleven by Gramma Dee, on Flickr The second I had started, but couldn't get my printer to cooperate. But over the weekend, I printed a WM collage of the 3 photos I wanted to use. So this morning, I tucked that into the little pocket on the page and added the little captions. eleven 2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Thought I would post both pages in the 2Peas gallery. Need to switch gears now from right to left brain. Need to get into the corner cupboard that holds all my receipts and account statements for 2016. If you don't hear from me in awhile I will be lost in numbers and columns and all things I ignore for 51 weeks a year... Look for me under the piles of paper... I am going in!

Hi ladies! Hope you had a good day. Mine was productive and even have some time to scrap. I hurt my left wrist a couple of days ago while practicing my guitar. So I am typing one handed. LOL! Hopefully after a few more days of rest it will be better. grammadee- Glad to hear your dh is ok and I hope continues to feel better. scrapincin- Thanks! I love trying different things as you know. Maybe I will become like Martha Stewart.

Happy Friday, Ladies!
I am doing laundry and getting organized to pack for another one week adventure. Dd & family are taking me with them to Ontario on a house hunting trip. They need me to ride herd on the little man while they are meeting with realtors and school people. I am driving to Edmonton tonight, then flying out in the morning. Returning next Friday. Dh is picking up their dog today, as she will be staying at the farm while her family is traveling.
Not a lot of creativity around here this week, other than a quick card I made to tuck into the RAK I put into the mail yesterday. It was so quick, I didn't even get a photo! My tax info is organized, and I am just waiting for one piece of information from dh to complete my summary form for the accountant.
Hoping everyone has a fantastic Friday!

I hope you had a good weekend, Pokeys. I did not get anything Creative done, but I did start decluttering my house. I'm reading The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up and I started going through my clothes. I'm not quite done and I already have 5 1/2 garbage bags to donate. I have way too many clothes. I hope to finish that after work today. Then start books tomorrow.

Happy Monday, Pokey's. Thanks for the well wishes. I am better. I worked last Monday in short bursts to prep for leaving on Wednesday. Last Tuesday, dd & I went to see Beauty and the Beast before her dr. appt. I left last Wednesday. It was such a wonderful trip. I feel like a human again (ha, just like the "to be human again" song in Beauty & the Beast). I spent one day just enjoying being with my sister, and one day with my BFF. The last day we went to see my nephew's apartment and walked the riverfront where he lives. I came home yesterday. Wonderful to be home. Today I'm trying to do some clean up. justjac, I have boxes upstairs for going through closets and getting rid of ill-fitting things or things the kids have outgrown. Good luck with your decluttering. grammadee, great pages. I left love last week before leaving, but wanted to tell you here too. I'm especially crazy about the "however you count it" page. Hope the drs. can help your dh. kellyr21, ouch. Who knew playing guitar could be so dangerous?! I hope you are all healed up. It is a pain when we do normal activity and get strains, sprains, and such. Glad you had some time to scrapbook. scrapincin, hope you have your computer all fixed up now. Waving hi to maribeth, nylene (hope you're having a great time), and msliz.

Happy Tuesday! Hope you all are doing well today. So glad my wrist is feeing better. Now I can get back to my Spring cleaning and my crafts. Sounds like justjac is in the cleaning mood too. How is it going? I still got my kitchen and bedroom to do but one step at a time. LisaDV- You did have a nice trip. grammadee- Has Spring showed up yet? Are you planning in gardening soon? Waving hi to all you gals and have a nice evening.

kellyr21, I'm glad your wrist is better. justjac, & kellyr21, I'm working on cleaning as well. I finally boxed up some of my dd's outgrown clothes today for good will. I still have ds and mine. Luckily, DH takes care of his own. I was folding clothes and it seemed a natural progression. For cleaning I started in the living room. I'm hoping to get through the dining area tomorrow. After the end of CalvinBall, I put away a few small things, but not all. Actually, my desk is still covered. After the last 13 days off, I'm starting to get a bit twitchy. So this morning I did spend a few minutes on organizing. Hopefully I'll get off here and get a few more minutes to do the same. Maybe by next week, I'll have enough cleaned up to start a new page. Oh, and this Friday, Don's going to pick up our chickens, hopefully. DD's making a list of names for them: Barbie Q, Chris P, Dee Licious, Orga (anics), and the rooster, Ed Ible. I'm loving the names. Happy Wednesday evening to all.

So I have sad news. My dad passed away on Tuesday morning. My brother, sister, and I all made it home that day to be with Mom. All the arrangements have been made. The funeral will be Saturday.
He passed away at home, which is really what he wanted. He hated the idea of going back into the hospital and losing the ability to care for himself.

Oh Justjac I am so sorry for your loss of your dad. Sending hugs and prayers for you and your family. I know he will be missed. nylene I wondered why we had not heard from you. So sorry to hear you came back sick. It sounds like you have had the real influenza. I sure hope you start feeling like your old self soon. Did you see the doctor? It is early so I will be back later to chat but when I saw Justjac's post and Nylene's I had to post. BTW where are you grammadee ? We have not heard from you in a while either

So sad about your Dad, justjac. I am sure your mom is really thankful to have you all there. You are such a close family. Will be thinking of you all on Saturday. I am almost home, scrapincin. Thanks for asking. Was away with dd & family while they were house hunting. Her hubby is in the military and will be transferred to Ontario in July. My task was to help with child care while they met with realtors and schools and... The week went well they found a home to purchase. They stayed to spend Easter with dd's mil, and I flew back to alberta Friday afternoon and had planned to be home by supper time, but a huge snowstorm decided to join us for easter, so I am in a hotel near the airport in Edmonton. Hope to drive home Saturday. Hey, LisaDV, I waved as our plane flew over Minnesota. Did you see me? I LOVE your dd's dark humour. Those chicken names are really cool. My nephew might appreciate some of those for his calves. kellyr21, our gardening season is short up here. Starts early May, and is done by about mid September. I always look forward to it in spring, then hate it by the time we are digging potatoes in the fall. The snow had just melted off the garden last week. Yesterday 7 inches of it covered everything again. As I said, not until May... nylene, I hope you feel better soon. I love my dgk's, but I swear they can be toxic!

Oh, I'm so very sorry for your loss, justjac . Hugs and prayers for your family! nylene , I hope you are feeling better now. grammadee , glad you're back, hope you made it all the way home today. Your children are so lucky they have you. I'm sure they appreciate all you do for/with them. The last 2 days have been in the warm 70's. We're hoping to start our seeds next week. Our area usually cannot put out gardens until May 30th. I think we could probably get by with a bit sooner this year. But the weather has been crazy this year. Oh, I did get my desk cleaned off the other night. I then pulled out a page kit and it had 2 stories inside, so both pages are started on my desk. I just have spare minutes here and there, so they haven't gotten very far. Also, Don brought home the chicks. And today has been cleaning mode. Personally I'm done and it's only 3:40. I guess I'd best get back to it. Hugs, again justjac .

Drove home yesterday through yet more snow, but was home in time for a short nap, supper, vegging out on TV shows I had PVR'd and a good long sleep in my own bed. I hope all of you are having an Easter Sunday you enjoy. Thinking of you and your family again, justjac. No family home this weekend. Today we are going to dh's sister's for Easter supper. I am to bring ham and dessert. Yesterday I baked a basic white cake. My tired brain left it in the oven a little too long, but I already poured Jello over each half, and once I have added all the cream cheese/lemon pie filling, and slathered it with Cool Whip, it should be fine. Maybe the crunchy bits will provide a little counterpoint to all that creamy goodness! Will also be adding mini eggs inside and to the top, so what's not to like? Wish I had you here, kellyr21, to decorate it for me, but my family is used to my "slather on the topping" technique! Picked up a pre-cooked, spiral cut, honey glazed ham yesterday in the city. Made me think of that "Christmas with the Kranks" movie. I just need to heat it through. drizzle it with glaze, then brown a little bit. Hoping the specific instructions are inside, but our dil cooked one at Christmas and it was delicious. Must be hopping on now!

Happy Easter Monday. Hope everyone is doing well. Put all my tax stuff away to make room on my scrap counter, and so far, I have finished one of the two bd cards I need to have ready to mail tomorrow. After a couple of weeks without creating, I felt a little sluggish, but I am happy with this one (Outside and Inside seen here): happy 14 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Happy 14 inside by Gramma Dee, on Flickr For years, this dgs has happily been bat boy for his older brother's bb team, but this year he tried out and was accepted to the rep team himself.

Good morning Pokey's! Hope all is well this morning with everyone. Well as well as it can be. I know justjac is getting thru the loss of her dad as well as she can. Thank goodness that family seems to support one another. nylene- hope you are feeling better and get back here soon! We miss you but more then that I hate that you are sick this long. grammadee- Your cards are lovely and I will leave you some love in the gallery. Glad to see your trip went well and that your DD found a new home to move into. LisaDV- You and your family seem to keep so busy! Always something going on with projects, or travel. I am going to try to get into my scrap room today. I coughed my head off all day yesterday and all night the night before. Allergies I guess as my nose is running constantly. Finally got it settled down last evening and slept well last night. It seems I have not scrapped in a month of Sundays! I have been trying out a few new techniques that may show up on a card or layout! Well Waving to everyone and hope to return later Hope everyone has a great day.

Hi my Pokey friends. I am sorry to still be absent, but I am really under the weather. I was given breathing treatments over the weekend and then ended up in the ER early Easter morning. Apparently the meds were messing with my kidneys so I feel pretty lousy. I think it is straightened out now, so hope to be on the mend. justjac, my heart has cried for your loss. I am so grateful that you were able to spend some good time with your dad in his last few weeks. I am glad you took photos and scrapped them. I am sending hugs and prayers for you and your family. Steve had a mower at work catch fire and explode. The driver hopped off in time but it burned clear to the ground, tires and all. Steve helped with the clean up and then came home. He walked into every room In the house looking for me and then noticed that the soot and oil had collected in the waffle-patterns of his soles and marked the carpets in each room. So we have quite a mess being cleaned by carpet cleaners today. Added to that, my check engine light came on just as we arrived in CA and stayed on for the rest of the trip. It has done that before and was just a glitch, but looks like there is a cylinder problem this time. So that is in the shop today too. Between ER visits, car repair and carpet cleaning, it has been an expensive week! I'm just glad we can get things fixed! I am being a neglectful hostess this month but I am glad you are all carrying on without me. I should be able to be on a bit more soon. I have been sleeping constantly. I an anxious to get back to my therapy...scrapping.

Thanks for all the kind words, Pokeys. I am home. The funeral was Saturday and it was lovely. Because Dad had been fighting cancer for so long , he had some time to plan. He wrote his own obituary and eulogy. I have this week off school, so I'm going to continue with the de-cluttering and try to get ready to host grammadee and my friend Kristi for the LSS retreat. nylene and scrapincin I hope you feel better. Happy Tuesday! It is a quiet day so far. I started working on some Mother's Day cards. So that will be my main craft for the next few weeks. I got an order to fill plus some others for my dh's job. Plus, I hope to circle back to baking and whatever else brings me joy. I wanted to scrap too so maybe I'll get to that too. justjac- Sooooooo sorry to hear about your dad! Sending you hugs and sunshine. I hope your week off will be filled with lots of rest, peace and fun. Scrapping with friends sounds like the perfect medicine! LisaDV- Oh chickens??? How many did you get and did your dd name them all yet? How cute! Do you have other farm animals too? nylene- I guess when it rains it pours! Oh boy, I hope you feel better soon and very happy to hear no one got hurt in that work accident. (well besides the carpet! lol) Hang in there! scrapincin- Hope you feel better too. grammadee- I wish I could of made cakes with you too. That would of been fun. There is a cake baking class coming up here and I would love to take it. Not sure if I will be able to but it would be nice to learn how to make a light and fluffy cake. So far mine haven't been very good. msliz maribeth @jana- Waving hello to you as well.

Waving hello back at all of you! I haven't been as busy or as troubled as so many of you, but I haven't been scrapping either. We had Passover last week, so I spent a bit of time in my kitchen, ignoring the rest of my house. I'm still trying to get caught up (posting from the dentist office while DD is in the chair.) Hang in there ladies!
