Good Thursday Morning to everyone! justjac , sending more hugs, prayers and positive thoughts to you and your family. I'm glad you have this week off of school. grammadee , glad you're back. That card is so wonderful - love the inside too. I'll leave love in the gallery after this. scrapincin , I'm intrigued with your new techniques you're trying out and can't wait to see them. Allergies are definitely going up now. It's so hard for me to tell if it's allergies or my loves are getting colds. nylene , I'm sorry that you're still under the weather. Andd then to have to deal with all of those pesky problems to boot, I feel for you. Glad they're being dealt with and hopefully you can rest. msliz , if I remember right, you were like me, with little scrap time once April hit with other projects going on. What will be your next project, or is it just a busy time with the kids? kellyr21 , and whatever else brings me joy LOVE this! Such a great mindset. We ended up with 14 chickens. They are so cute. We bought dual breed (good for meat or egg laying) girls with the exception of one which was a mixed run. We're hoping that it is a he and will be our rooster. We've named him Ed (ible) but realize we might need to change it to Edna. DD has named quite a few but not all. She and I are going to do an 6x8 album for them. We're going to do mug shot styled photos with their names & breed. Some are easy to tell as they have a distinguishing mark. Others I haven't quite figured out how to tell which is which and have to ask her. These are our first farm animals. We want other animals but are taking things slow. We found the first morel of the season yesterday! I just wanted to do a quick search under a few trees we're known to get them while walking the dogs yesterday evening, needless to say we were very excited. I finally called about my silhouette not connecting properly. They offered a repair, but since it's several years old, I would pay for it with what could be up to $100 plus shipping. The new one was on amazon for $200 yesterday. Although I hated to spend the money, I really use my cameo so much, especially for welded cursive title work. It's like a staple product like glue, cardstock and scissors to me. So I will be watching my pennies for a while. I'm hoping to go through seeds with Don before Saturday as he leaves for a conference on Saturday. Then the kids and I can start them over this weekend. Although I use the grow lamps for lighting my craft area. Guess I'll craft in the dark over the next month. Whew, I had a lot to say. I guess I should try to get on here more often so I'm not so blab-by. I'll try to do better. New Baby Chicks by Lisa Davolt, on Flickr These are our chicks. Sorry it was late yesterday so not very good lighting. We just moved them to this larger tub.

nylene and scrapincin, I hope both of you ladies are feeling better soon. The flu is nothing to fool around with! Like LisaDV, I am looking forward to peeking at the results of your "playing around" in your craftroom, scrapincin. I love your quest to find your joy, kellyr21. That is a wonderful way to ground yourself as the world around keeps spinning crazily. Would love to see some of your Mothers' Day cards. I will need to create some of those soon. What are your Passover traditions, msliz? I roomed with a Jewish family one summer, so have a very passing familiarity with some customs. And the media gives us a little more information about Chanukah. I know what Passover is celebrating, but I was wondering how you mark the holiday. I haven't been scrapping this month at all, but intend to change that this weekend. Have packed up my scrappy stuff for the crop this weekend with justjac. I am taking a LOT less than I usually do. Kitted photos with papers and other supplies with several pages to come out of each kit. Leaving [most] of my artsy supplies behind: I can play with wet media any time, and then leave it to dry for days if need be. Also left out my heat embossing stuff and most of my dies and embossing folders. Will see how this works out for me. I am not going completely cold turkey into this kitting thing: I happen to know justjac has a huge stash with which she is very generous, and there will be a store on site. My goal in packing was to come home with 30 completed pages... I will be happy if I actually finish 20. Welcome to farming, LisaDV . Love how your dd is so involved and how you are planning a book for your fowls. You better get those cute photos quickly before those little guys start looking more sketchy and like they really should be in a mug shot. You have a week or so, but then the feathers start to come in, and... No gardening here for a few weeks. The snow from last week is still melting. (We had just been able to see the whole garden before this last dump) and more snow is predicted for this upcoming weekend. My seeds have been ordered and have arrived. They are waiting in the basement. Dh will work up the garden when it is dry enough (around the first week in May) Potatoes & onions will be put into the ground shortly after that. Then most of the seeds will go in by the 3rd week in May. We don't start anything ourselves. I usually pick up bedding plants around Mothers' Day, and they go into the ground the first week in June.

Good evening Pokeys! Won't go n too long as I am really tired. I am feeling better-it definitely is my allergies and I just added a few things and at least I am coughing less and sleeping. I. I went into my scrap room this evening and made up a practice card which I will post tomorrow.it to It may take some time to that as it has Perfect Pearls used and it may be hard to get look right. I only added a greeting so it did not look really dingy. I saw Jennifer McGuire do this in one of her videos and will link it so if you want to try it you can Believe me hers are a lot better then mine but I keep practicing. Her cards are just beautiful. grammadee I think you and JustJac will have a good time this weekend . I hope she is able to enjoy her time. I am getting off for tonight but will be back in the morning and post my sample card!

Just popping on to say hello to everyone. I have not been able to read all your posts but I want to extended my condolences to justjac. Wishing @mylene and scrapincin speedy recovery hoping you both are feeling better very soon. Hello to a busy LisaDV, grammadee and kellyr21. I have been busy making some 3-D project on a Facebook Group I have found. Giving away free stuff on the Free Stuff thread here at 2Peas. Busy at work. 2 camping weekends. Back to my routine of walking after work leaves me less time to hang around the boards. Hope to spend Sunday scrapping. Busy Sunday with breakfast/lunch with hubbys cousin and her daughter, then grand daughter's soccer game, then dinner with hubby's sister in law. Have a wonderful day ladies.

Good morning Pokeys. As promised I made a mock-up card to show you what I have been working on. I am still trying to layer more then one flower but I still need more practice with that. I will link the video on how to do this. It is done with Versamark and Perfect Pearls and I have even done it with chalks. here's the link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=DU8yb_X31UU&t=96sIMG_mock-up card by Cindy Blair, on Flickr Flower close-up by Cindy Blair, on Flickr Have grocery shopping to do so need to get moving. Thanks for the link, scrapincin ! I left some love for your "mock up" in the Gallery. I am a big fan of Perfect Pearls, but haven't used them in awhile. Might have to dig out those little pots of prettiness and play around with them after I get home from the crop. ETA: Now I watched the video and REALLY WANT a set of those clear layered stamps!!! (First I need to go through the gazillion stamps I DO have to make sure I don't have any already. I know I have a layered pinecone set from TE, but those are not clear. Will have to check out my CTMH stamps. Good to hear from you maribeth . Sounds like you are busy as ever. No one is going for evening walks around here: still snow and lots of mud!

... What are your Passover traditions, msliz ? I roomed with a Jewish family one summer, so have a very passing familiarity with some customs. And the media gives us a little more information about Chanukah. I know what Passover is celebrating, but I was wondering how you mark the holiday. ... You're sweet to ask, but we really don't do anything especially notable. We have a seder on the first night, which is a dinner with symbolic foods, and we retell the story of the exodus from Egypt and give thanks for the freedom we enjoy today. And after 4 cups of wine, there's singing! After that, it's just a matter of feeding my family for a week without bread, pasta, cake, and cookies. We can have matzah, and baked goods made from matzah as the flour, but they leave something to be desired. It's easier and tastier to just go without IMO. One of my DDs eats gluten free anyway, so she makes my life easier, and DH is pretty self sufficient. But DD13 just got braces a couple weeks ago, and she was already a picky eater, so she made me just a little nuts. She ended up eating a lot of mashed potatoes, and she was happy enough with that

scrapincin, That's such a pretty card. I watched that video last week while I was folding laundry. I was thinking it would be a cool background for a scrapbook page. We don't start anything ourselves. I usually pick up bedding plants This is our first foray into a large garden plot. Every other garden in other houses have been quite small and we just picked up the plants or direct sowed those that went that way. Our garden now is so much larger. Although I can see us going back to picking up plants in the future, we have to try the seed starting adventure at least once. Also, please keep that snow over/up there. I really don't want anymore here. We're starting to get buds and things are greening up. Much earlier than normal, but I'll take it. I just packed away the gloves and scarves and today feels like 33. My fault for packing away the winter gear. grammadee and justjac, I hope you both have a wonderful time at your crop and get lots of pages complete. We'll enjoy it through your efforts. msliz, my dh was raised catholic. His great grandfather came to this country in the 1940's with his children, changing their last name when he did. We just found out he was Jewish. My mil (his granddaughter) had no idea, until we put it together upon finding out the original spelling. We gave her a DNA test for Christmas and it came back with Jewish heritage. We think this is really cool! I did buy a Jewish cookbook, thinking I would eventually add in some of those recipes during Easter week or Christmas week, but until dd is a bit healthier I haven't attempted it yet. maribeth, glad to know what you're up to. I figured you'd be busy between work, walking, and camping. I'm hoping to get some scrap time this weekend as well. DH leaves tomorrow morning (yes, on a Saturday) for 5 days for work. So he told me to go relax while he makes lunch. I love that man! I finally finished one of the layouts that's been on my desk for the last week this morning before running my errands. I still have one laying there which I hope to finish this weekend. Maybe I'll get the last few layouts photographed this weekend too. Waving hello to everyone! Have a great weekend.

How fascinating about your dh's heritage. This is a great story for especially your kids to know about. scrapincin- What a beautiful card! I gotta get to the gallery for a better look. maribeth- Thanks for telling us about the "free stuff" thread. I gotta go through my stash and see if I have anything. Good seeing ya back with us too. msliz- Nice seeing you around with us. Your family traditions sounds nice. All the cooking and reflection must really bring the family together. grammadee- I know you will be happy to get your garden going. I am sending some sun rays your way to warm up the grounds. Good Monday morning, Ladies! Good to hear about your traditions, msliz. tfs. How are you doing midpoint in your dh free time, LisaDV? I know you are busy with the kids, but did you get any scrapping done? I hope scrapincin and nylene are recovering and getting their energy back. I am home from the crop, although my stuff is still in the vehicle. Had a wonderful time, and got a lot of scrapping done. It's great to spend a block of time with people who "get" the need to create pages! justjac and I still had Calvinball on the brain and were talking about how many points we could have racked up over the weekend. This morning I started pulling pages about my oldest dgs from their page protectors so I can take them to the printer to copy for his graduation album. I am up to age 9, and have those pages in a labeled iris container. Having fun flipping through my earlier albums, reliving memories and seeing what I did on pages "way back when"... Have a great week, Pokeys!

grammadee, I literally lol'd about the CB points for this past weekend. I created 2 pages within the last 1.5 weeks. On both I was totally in the back of my head going "and a point for that..." I hope it wears off soon. I'm so glad you had a nice time. Although you strike me as the type that would have fun no matter where, no matter what. I bet your dgs is going to love his graduation album. kellyr21, did you get a lot of cards completed or did you just enjoy the nice weather? I've started rearranging a bit in my craft room yesterday. Hope to do a bit more today or tomorrow.

Hi my Pokey friends! This month has pretty much just passed me by. I have done nothing but sleep for the last 2 weeks. My doctor is encouraged today that things are starting to be better. I still have a lot of chest congestion, but it's SOOOO much better than it was. I'm still using the inhalers and steroids, but this is the first day that I have felt like I'm making progress. I am still just taking it easy and I find if I lie down for a few minutes I fall right to sleep. Guess my body knows what it needs.
I am encouraged that I will be able to catch up with all your chatting and great projects this week. Thanks for your well wishes. I will check in again later or tomorrow.

nylene, I hope your feeling a bit better yesterday is a harbinger for a continuing return to health! Be good to yourself. Sleep as much as you need. I am about halfway through getting my stuff put away after the crop. Took photos of a few of my crop projects this morning. It is pretty gloomy outside, so the photos did not turn out very well, but I decided to use them, as I want to put all my new pages into page protectors in albums. Here is a 2-pager I did about my dgd's baking style. I didn't take wet media to the crop, but had prepared the bg cs ahead of time to support my theme. The photos are of the results of her baking, but I had teased her about how messy she makes the kitchen and she dared me to make a page about it, so... Messy Kitchen by Gramma Dee, on Flickr And here is a page that [almost] made the cut for my April family calendar. I would have used it if I weren't planning to use a photo of this little guy and his mom for a Mothers' Day page for May. April Showers by Gramma Dee, on Flickr I also uploaded some other pages to the Gallery this morning and linked them to various other threads where they apply, but thought I would share these here.

Good Thursday morning. I hope those who were ill are feeling better, and those who are busy have a few minutes to play--or at least check in here. Saw and commented on your lovely pages in the Gallery, LisaDV. Thanks for yours and scrapincin's comments on mine. The last couple of days I have been working on setting up a couple of projects. For the retirement party for my former coordinator, I am setting up a scrapbook to act as a guest book. My plan is to do a few 12x12 pages to set it up, and we will use one of them as a sign in sheet for the event. So far, I have a couple of quick pages done for that. The bulk of the book will be made up of PL style pages, and I am filling in the slots in the divided protectors with PL cards and cut pp. At the event, we will be taking photos of attendees, and each attendee can then fill in a journaling card to go by their photo. But I don't want to have blank spaces in the album, so am working to fill all those little sleeves ahead of time. If a sleeve gets too "fat" when we slide in a photo, we can remove the card then. I am kind of PL challenged, but have managed to make the cards work, I think. Have half the pages with portrait and half with landscape orientated slots. Since I will be taking and printing the photos, I can try to make sure I alternate between the orientations. I started by filling in all the spaces with generic cards, and am now exchanging some of them for cards or pp more in tune with who she is and who we are. Meanwhile, I am pulling pages from all of my albums to copy for my dgs's grad book. I am about halfway through that. So what with albums all over the floor with stickies to indicate where the pages will be returned, and PL cards and supplies and related stamps and embellies pulled out for the retirement album, I am up to my armpits in (slightly) organized confusion! This evening dh & I will be going to his Seniors' club for their monthly pancake supper and card playing. I will have to find my way out of this room before then...

Mother's Day Cards 2017 by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr
Happy Thursday! Hope you all are having a nice day. I have been busy making card that my dh and I will be selling for Mother's Day. I had some Kaiser Craft pp left from last Mother's Day that I used to do these cards. I wanted to order more of the pp today and I was so surprise to see that Scrapbookdotcom was sold out and A Cherry On Top on had one left. Geez! So at least I was able to order that.
A customer requested me to make a card kit for her. Any ideas of what I should put in there?
LisaDV- Yes, I have making a bunch of cards but I also have enjoyed the weather too. Haven't been out as much as I thought but still feels nice. How are the chickens?
grammadee- So happy you were able to spend some time with justjac. I hope she is doing ok. That is a tough loss.
scrapincin- Good to see ya and glad you are doing better. The NFL draft is tonight. Doesn't seem like any big names going this year but I will probably watch some of it.
nylene- Sending you a hug and hope you are getting better. Hang in there!

Hello ladies kellyr21 - beautiful cards again as usual. You have such a flair with the feminine and the blooms. They are great grammadee - Loving the pages you have posted. scrapincin - glad you are feeling better and love the card your are working on nylene - hoping your health is still improving LisaDV - waving hello justjac - waving hello I have been hanging out on a Facebook page lately Scrapbookers of County Craft Creations. They do a lot of mini albums, folios and 3-D projects. I like doing some of the 3-D projects. Here is the first one I completed. The base of it was a kit, and then you used your own papers. Most of the ladies are putting a folio inside but I will use mine for some kind of storage in my craft room. They are putting on a retreat in February of 2018 in Las Vegas, and I never get the opportunity to go to a retreat so I am hoping I get to attend this one.
I am hoping to play a bit this weekend on grammadee 's iNSD challenge thread.

Hello, my Pokey Friends. I thought I would get back here sooner, but I find that I am spending a lot of time just doing the necessary things and then I fall asleep. Steve tried to wake me this afternoon to go shopping with him and I didn't respond. He decided I needed the rest. I am feeling a little better each day, but by evening when I usually get on the computer I find myself falling asleep. I have finished all the meds, but still have a heaviness in my chest. I think I'll make an appt. next week just to make sure it is totally cleared. scrapincin, I am sorry you are still coughing. I have cough syrup for times I really get coughing, but that doesn't happen often anymore. Hang in there, sweet friend. I hope Miss Maggie is not getting this awful stuff. My neighbor just showed me the cards she made from J.McGuire's Perfect Pearls video. I really want to try that, and several other things she has shown. LisaDV, I loved seeing and hearing about your chickens. You have such a clever son to name them all. LOL Good luck to you as you begin rearing a new family! kellyr21, your cards are just gorgeous! I will leave you some love in the gallery. I have never bought a card kit so don't have any suggestions for what to include. maribeth did a lot of cards for CB last month, so maybe she will have some ideas. grammadee, your schedule makes me even more tired than I already am! What a wonderful thing to do for the retirement. You are so thoughtful. I will catch up with your beautiful projects in the gallery. carolynhasacat, thank you for the well wishes. I think I am really on the mend now. I just need to be careful not to overdo. justjac, thinking about you and hoping that things are going well for you and your family. msliz, thank you for the information about Passover. I have read some about the traditions but have never tasted the traditional dishes. I enjoyed the description of what you do. Thanks for sharing. maribeth, your 3D project is amazing. You do such great 3D things. I hope you can go to the conference in Las Vegas. That would be a lot of fun to meet new people and learn new techniques. My layout is still sitting on my desk from over a month ago. I am missing scrapping but just don't seem to have the motivation in the evenings when I usually scrap. Maybe tomorrow I can glue things down and complete 1 layout for this month. LOL Have a great weekend, everyone. Waving hi to all our occasionally dropping in Pokeys. We are always glad to see you.

So glad you are feeling well enough to visit with us, nylene. Thanks so much for all the love in the Gallery. I hope you are really and truly on the mend now. And I hope your cough gives you some relief soon, scrapincin. Please take care of yourselves! Loving the cards, kellyr21 and the project, maribeth! Good to see what you have been up to. Hope to see what comes out of the iNSD challenges this week and next. I am having fun thinking of challenges and collecting them from others. So far we have almost 20 of them in two days! Onward and upward, I say! Loved your pages in the Gallery, LisaDV. How are those chicks coming along? No scrapping for me this weekend. Dd is working on her Masters' project, so dgs and his daddy will be here at the farm for the weekend. I warned them to pack lots of old clothes and boots and splash pants: the yard is a mud bowl right now. And I am busy putting away stuff I had just parked in his play area in the basement.

Hello everyone! grammadee , your presents will be well appreciated. scrapincin , glad your feeling a bit better and hope Maggie gets over it quickly. Enjoy your evening out with the girls. kellyr21 , beautiful cards. Left love on them already. How many cards are supposed to be in the kit? I would consider: thank you, get well, sympathy, Birthday- feminine, masculine, & generic. maribeth , left love on your 3-D camera already. Very nice. Have fun playing this weekend. nylene , I'm so glad you were well enough to check in. Please don't rush yourself getting better and try to take it easy. Also stay warm and dry. justjac , I've been enjoying your instagram layouts. Hope you are well. msliz , waving hello. Don & I have a "date" tomorrow. It was suppose to be a paint and sip at a local winery but the sold out of the time slot I wanted. So, we're going to a couple of nurseries for a few trees (cherry and a nut of some sort, for sure), to lunch, and to finish the grocery shopping which we didn't get to yesterday with DD's dr. appt. My kids are like, "um, lovely date, Mom" in their snarkiest voices. And just like crazy, they have snark feeding in from both sides of their genetic gene pool, so that's saying something. The chickens are growing quickly. We hope to get the door to the pen built on Sunday afternoon. We still have the coop to build, hopefully before the end of May, but May is SO, SO busy. Don has the plans from online. We're enlarging it a bit. He's already ordered the nesting boxes. I want him to build a plywood box for the front porch for them. Keeping them inside is triggering Don's and dd's allergies. Have a wonderful weekend.

maribeth, cute layout. Love that the fun pieces came from a pea ( chendra). scrapincin, how are you feeling? Is Maggie ok? LisaDV, your "date" sounds like most of ours...a trip to Walmart, etc. LOL Silly kids that don't understand that being together without kids is a good date. I spoke too soon about being better. The kidney infection returned. I probably needed a few more days of antibiotic. Spend all yesterday afternoon in the Dr. office. I am starting to feel better today. I think I must need more sleep! LOL Have a great weekend everyone. I still haven't touched my scrap things, but will soon!
