mlana I understand your frustration with the doctor, but he is just doing his job. Prednisone can really cause your blood sugar to do some whacky stuff. He is just trying to protect you from a diabetic complication.

mlana I understand your frustration with the doctor, but he is just doing his job. Prednisone can really cause your blood sugar to do some whacky stuff. He is just trying to protect you from a diabetic complication. His job was to tell me that prednisone and diabetes are a bad mix. I get that. His job was not to tell me he was going to call the specialist I see and tell her that I should not be allowed to have a medication, not necessarily prednisone, on hand so that I could make the decision whether to take that med or go in to see a dr. He thinks every problem rates a dr visit; I disagree. My pu had been working with me for more than 3 years to get my asthma under control; she is quite capable of deciding whether I am capable of discerning if my problem is one I am familiar with or is something new. I had no problem with his explanation of the problem with taking Prednisone while taking diabetic meds. I have a huge problem with him basically forbidding me from following another dr's orders as to when to treat a condition with a pre prescribed medication. Funny thing is, he had no problem writing me scrips for Xanax, hydrocodone and muscle relaxers to keep on hand for when my anxiety kicks in or my back goes. I've had and have successfully dealt with the asthma for a lot longer than the other problems. I only use Prednisone once or twice a year, maybe 5 times in 3 years, and 2 of those times were directly after seeing my pu. Marcy

Irritated by the fact I have to waste a vacation week covering for yet another school break. Have an appt to talk to school district admin about less time off of school but I am sure the union will oppose it. Thankfully they reduced the 1/2 days from 7 to 4 for the next year. My kid does not have a single month where there are 4 full weeks of attendance from September to June. It's ridiculous and a hardship for working parents. I sympathize. There are two to three half-day Fridays every month at my son's school for administrative bs. I'm sure that's great for anyone who is easily free to pick their child up three hours after taking them to school, but for me it is an orchestrated event that costs me money and frustration.

I fell asleep last night on the couch without my medicine. I'm feeling like such crap today I left work early. My son is also apparently having a bipolar day. He texted me to come get him from school. We had an argument over the computer and he told me he wished I was dead. Now I know it's just the bipolar talking. But man does that hurt. And it's exacerbated by the fact that I did not get my meds last night and am having a bipolar day too. Both of us came home and retreated to our bedrooms. (((hugs)))
