Is anyone else signing up for the AE stamp club? I was never a subber to the AE stamp before, but for some reason now I'm tempted by her new stamp sub. The site says that it will be geared towards memory keepers (ie, not card makers?) which appeals to me, and I do love a lot of her hand writing and circles and the like. I hardly own any of her stamps now. However, I wonder if I'm not just being suckered in by the "limited number" line too I REALLY dislike the cancellation policy. That screams SC. I also wonder if I should hold out for the full kit; the kit might include the monthly stamp too? What to do. First world problems!

$24.99 is way too much for a 4x6 stamp set. Even factoring in the PDF that will be available. And committing to 12 months to get the $19.99 price isn't something I'm willing to do.

The cost is very close to what her Technique Tuesday stamps sold for. They were around $20 a piece. I did glance around the web and it looks like most 4x6 stamp sets go for around $15 a piece without shipping. And shipping from stores like scrapbook.com, stampin up, close to my heart, technique Tuesday are around $5 off average you are getting it for about the same price since the AE stamp includes shipping.
If it really comes with a mini class type thing with it, in my opinion it would be worth it. But I also find that out of all the stamps I own, I use the AE stamps the most and would rather pay more for something I can use over and over than pay less and only use it once.
Sorry didn't mean for this post to be so long but my 1st thought was cost the high, but After researched it and found that it was not so bad. I thought others might be interested in that.

I'm trying it. It fits my budget, I love her stamps and use them all the time. I figure with the extras its worth it to me.

I am very, very tempted. Initially, I was all in. Then I read the price and cancellation policy and was totally out. Seemed very expensive and I was very turned off by the cancellation policy. But I love Ali and she inspires me probably more than any other scrapper out there, so I am back to leaning towards giving it a try. I always loved her stamps but I just bought the digital version because of price. I'm cheap like that. I would love to own some of her stamps and the mini workshop thing makes it extremely tempting. I hate making a commitment without knowing a lot of info, but I think I might take a leap of faith on this. The SC connection makes me nervous. I've never had any personal experience with them, but I've read enough here to know that it could be trouble. I hope not.

$19.99 for a 4x6 stamp set + cancellation policy + SC = Good Luck Ali, but I'm spending my money elsewhere.

This is exactly what I thought....Love AE and her stamps and I only do scrapbooking so this really got me excited....except that I like to pick and choose which stamps I get and I've never been pleased with these types of clubs.... ...THEN I saw the cancellation policy and was NOT impressed.

Tempted? Yep, I signed up. I need the journaling help. I spend more than that a month on impulse purchases that I could do without. Looking forward to getting them - and I'm not a stamp person.

I am tempted because of the class/PDF. I have many AE stamps and I do use them. The thing is I never had a subscription to TT and was always able to pick and choose the ones I wanted. I am also someone who has had a less than positive customer experience with SC. I so wish she had not teamed up with them. Still I am tempted.

Wow, that cancellation policy is insane! Has SC not learned it's lesson yet?! They have such a bad reputation for the stuff they pull when you try to cancel. And now they are going to charge you HALF of the kit price PLUS a fee?!! It's almost like a bullying tactic if you ask me.
If you have confidence in your products and your ability to handle customer service issues is top notch, then there should not be such a harsh cancellation fee.
It's such a shame because I really love Ali and her designs.

I'm on the fence too. I sure do love her products and her classes and the whole nine. But that is a big commitment, and it really sucks the fun out of buying when there's a commitment involved. What irks me about SC is the exclusivity - if we don't commit to the kit then how likely will we be able to buy the stamps later on? Not very. So it's all or nothing. That is what irks me. I will probably wait and see what the other kit is like, even though I would love to just be able to buy her product outright.

I do wish there was more information on the kit. Will it include a stamp? Will it be the same stamp? Is it a scrappy kit?
I really liked the TT Studio AE sub, but it got a bit tiring, and I really didn't like the last 8-9 months of stamp sets.
Hmmmm...

Most stores big box and small businesses has some sort of return policy. It show that they stand behind their product and are willing to help out customers who have an issue. No returns and harsh cancelation policies mean the opposite to me. I completely agree!

I like a lot of Ali's stamps. There are some, however, that look like chicken scratch to me. I just DON'T UNDERSTAND why details and images aren't released a head of time. Let the consumer decide what they want instead of trying to lure them in (with no information and the most abstract descriptions) then trap them if they don't like the product. I think that people would commit to that absurd cancellation policy if they knew what they were getting.
I don't understand the business model.

Also, the people who do want it cannot get it because it's sold out, creating the re-selling issue. It frustrates everyone. Imagine if those who wanted the product could it in a timely fashion and use it, post their creations, have folks look at the creation and say, "wow, I want that, too." That's how you create the demand and keep people feeling positive about your product, imo.

I am sure they have to have policies like this especially when they start out with a new product. They will be basing their numbers on interest at first so I'm sure they will want to cover their costs if you cancel. It's all out in the open- if you don't like the policy, don't subscribe. Or just preorder the one-month option.
I think it's a bit steep for a 4x6 stamp set and message boards. I'm sure some people will enjoy it but I am going to wait and see.

I suppose Ali went to SC because they are pretty successful with selling kits. But I am so over that whole "let's cause some hysteria to make money" business model. I refuse to get sucked into the "Oh I better impulsively order before it's sold out!". It's the main reason I will never sub with SC. I really, really hope Ali doesn't go down that road. Then I will lose a little respect for her.

I hope I don't regret it, but I did sign up. I have been a very loyal follower of hers for many years. I buy most of her digital products from Designer Digitals. I have taken all of her classes. If this bombs and I'm caught in the middle of it, she will lose me forever. I'm a big girl. I understand the commitment I am making. Not happy about the cancellation policy and wish I had a better preview of what exactly I'm buying, but I made the commitment. Just hope it's worth the price.

I like a lot of her stamps but am not sure I want to have a whole year's worth. One or two sets that I can see ahead of time and choose - maybe. I'm sitting this one out, at least until I see the kind of stamps that are in the sub.

I could not find images of what the stamps would be.
There's no way I would sink that kind of money (and yes, to me it is THAT KIND of money) into a purchase without having a good idea of what I was getting.
Would you buy a book with only the dimensions of the book and a vague idea that the book's setting was during summertime? Heck no. You want to at least read the back cover blurb. You want to see the front cover's artwork.
Why is it okay to demand that stampers & scrappers buy sight unseen?

The cancellation policy seriously scared me off. And the fact that Studio Calico is handling the customer service and fulfillment. I love Ali and have bought many of her products and classes so I'm kind of bummed. But I'm sure my wallet will be much happier!
