Removable tape was worse than washi for me. Don't get me wrong-I'll never buy another misti no matter what. But I will probably not buy the tonic if it's not magnetic. For me that's an essential feature. Or I could probably add a metal sheet to the base somehow. If I didn't have a misti I would probably get the stampoholic. I have a mostly animals stampograph that I tried converting to work like a misti but the lack of a magnetic base made me not really like it.

I couldn't take it any more, and just bought one from the UK on eBay. $58 including international shipping. Our international Peas do it all the time, so it's only right that we have to do it every now and then. I do not want one without the magnets. I hope eBay doesn't get a cease and desist order! Welcome to our world

If it's just the ruler, then my impulse purchase of tape measure masking tape was genius!

I bet they have to remove the magnetic part. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. My Greedy Petunia. The WRMK Precision Press doesn't have a magnetic part. Actually, it's very similar to Tonic's platform... I am hoping that Tonic only has to eliminate something trivial. I have no use for the measurements on any of the platforms. So that's what I'm hoping!

I thought I needed the magnetic platform but now am conflicted as to what changes would make it a deal breaker. Talk me away from the edge of eBay UK!!!

I love everything I've seen about the Tonic, including magnets. At this point, the UK price wasn't much more than the evil alternative. If they do eliminate the magnets on the Tonic, the demand for versions outside of the US will go up, as will prices. That's my reasoning, anyway. Did I talk you out of it yet?

Perfect time to take a trip Down Under to New Zealand and Australia and pick up one while you're here Now that's an expensive stamp positioner! DD will be studying in Dunedin next year, so I guess I could have waited and had her get me one. We hope to be able to visit while she's there.

Do hope you'll get the chance to see some of the country, especially the South Island, which is amazingly beautiful. SaveSave

I also grabbed when from the UK for my daughter and I...I love it Very well made and I see enough diffrences between the Misti and the stamping platform (also bought the protective sleeve). However, after mine arrived, friends went to look for one in the UK and now many retailers are not shipping these to the US.
I hope this all gets sorted out soon.

For legal reasons, vendors should refuse to ship it to the US as it would allow MSP to sue them over selling a product to a market where the patent's applicable. For anyone interested, Irit Landgraf uses the platform during the first half of her new process video.

For those of us in the U.S. who are totally envious that you have the Tonic stamp platform, I really hope that Tonic can get this worked out soon.
Does anyone have any news or hope for us? Any potential approximate date for release in the U.S.?

Where can someone go to get the platform in the U.K.? My sister lives in Birmingham and will be coming back to the States this summer to visit. I'm toying with the idea of getting her to pick one up. Is it online only?

Is it online only? It's on Amazon UK with free UK delivery It's available a few places for pre-order (often cheaper) but note the expected arrival times: Emerald Crafts (May delivery) Sir Stampalot (expected late May but could change) Craft Stash (not due til the end of July). Crafts u Love (July shipping) Ebay (May despatch - but could change). The listing is from a store in Wolverhampton (which is not far from Birmingham) and there's a phone number so your sister could perhaps ring and check what the status is! SaveSave

anniefb where in NZ would you recommend ordering the Tonic platform from? My family might be able to get me one for my birthday before this nonsense with MSP is resolved in the US.

It's currently available from Memory Crafts in Auckland, either on their website or on TradeMe. (I've ordered from them previously and had good service). A couple of places have pre-orders for July: Artfull Crafts in Timaru. Paper Teapot in Christchurch. Hope your family can get you one!

I haven't and it makes me nervous because ACOT has it for presale but doesn't disclose anywhere that there may be differences between the new one and the original, it just states that there is a shipment delay.

MSP may have done Tonic a huge favor in increasing the demand for the Stamp Platform by holding back the supply for a while.
I would love it if her greed karmically backfires and makes the Tonic tool even more desirable and sought after!
