I am not a fan of MSP; I have just about every Tonic tool ever released under TH's name (when it comes to the scissors, I have a pair in most rooms in the house and multiples at the office). However. It is incorrect for Tonic to say that they have not distributed the product.
They should have said they have not distributed them in the USA. Let's keep it clean, people; for me, the truth still counts for something.

It is incorrect for Tonic to say that they have not distributed the product. They should have said they have not distributed them in the USA. Let's keep it clean, people; for me, the truth still counts for something. They state that they are trying to supply them in the USA. It is common knowledge among most people following this fiasco online that this product is available in other countries. The logical sequitur = because they are still trying to distribute them in the USA, they have not yet distributed them in the USA. I think that's addressed in their statement and not untruthful in any way? Tonic would like to give you an update on the situation regarding the new Model 1707e Tim Holtz Stamping Platform. Since the last announcement, we the team at Tonic have been working very hard to minimize the delay and impact this has had on the supply of the product whilst ensuring we can release a product that we can continue to supply in the USA. This is very complicated. I am keeping it simple: Tonic's own words in their facebook statement are potentially misleading. They have distributed the product. I have such a high respect for them and I would have preferred that they were just 100% straight. ETA: I have bolded the part I take issue with in my post below as my tech skills are poor.

I just saw this on Tonic's FB page: Stamp Platform Update: June 7, 2017 Tonic would like to give you an update on the situation regarding the new Model 1707e Tim Holtz Stamping Platform. Since the last announcement, we the team at Tonic have been working very hard to minimize the delay and impact this has had on the supply of the product whilst ensuring we can release a product that we can continue to supply in the USA. We would like to take this opportunity to apologize again for the delay and ask for your continued support and patience while we try to get the products into stock and shipped out to you all. We have been working to modify the product for the release to ensure we do not infringe any existing patents. We hope you will agree when you see the revised Model 1707e that the changes we have made to the design do not detract from the look or function of the product and most people will not notice any difference from the original. Even though we maintain our previous product (which we did not distribute) did not infringe the granted patent of My Sweet Petunia (MSP), these differences have been made to provide further clarity in the situation so we can provide our retail partners clear guidance on the sale of the product. As we move to catch up with the demand for the product we will be releasing the incoming shipments on a first come first served basis based with our retail partners on when we received the orders. We will be confirming the expected delivery date to each of our retailers within the next 7 days. The first shipments we expect to be dispatched on the week of 09 July with the second delivery to be on the week of 16 July. We are working to improve this wherever possible; however, we want to provide a clear and realistic route to completion. We also want to be realistic that the product will be entering the country during the holiday period which may involve additional small delays. These dates are when we will receive product into our warehouse in California so there may be a few more days to get the product to the partners and then onto the consumers. We would like to thank all our retailers and their consumers for their ongoing support for Tonic Studios USA Inc. and the support from the team at Tim Holtz LLC. We will make a further announcement if the situation changes; however at this time we will be dealing directly with the retailers so they can pass on the relevant delivery information to their consumers. If you are an end consumer and have specific questions on delivery, please contact your retailer while we send out updates. Please allow a few days before doing so while we filter the information to them. If you have any questions for Tonic Studios directly please contact directly on customerservice@tonic-studios.comI

ScrapsontheRocks I think that since the patent does not apply internationally they are only referring to the US. That being the case, it is true that they have not distributed any platforms in the US. Yes their international branch, Tonic Studios UK has distributed them, but it is perfectly legal since the patent does not affect other countries.

Okay, I broke down and bought one from the UK, and it arrived today. I am *so* glad to have it, and it was worth the extra shipping, every penny. Wonderfully substantial/sturdy, as previous posters have attested, phenomenal design/engineering, and every feature I wanted and needed. I had high hopes, as every Tonic product I have --guillotine trimmers, Tim red scissors, and a few other smaller tools-- has proven to be expertly made with no quality issues (stark difference when compared to my cracking tool-that-shall-not-be-named), and the platform is freakin' awesome. For those waiting, it is 100% worth it, and for anyone tempted to give in and get one early, ditto. I'm in stamping love.

So two days ago I was going to bite the bullet on eBay except my card did not go through. The notification said: your bank may have a hold or somthing like that.
Sure enough, the same day 3 fraudulent charges were pending and my card was on hold. I think it was a sign from the stamping gods.
"Be patient. The end of the wait is near!!!"

I shall refrain from asking questions that belong on Political threads, for example, about whether there are walls between Tonic USA and Tonic studios. Not gonna call for their tax returns I must say I didn't enjoy the eyeroll I got when I was commenting using info which you have now corrected. I didn't enjoy (or I believe, deserve) the suggestion I didn't really know what was going on, had missed a logical sequitur and so on but hey this is pealand, right!

FurryP I am sorry about your card. I hope you were able to get it fixed and they caught the jerks that did that to you. I am close to ordering it from the UK too. I will hope for a July release for us in the States. If not then UK you are getting my money. Reading and commenting on all the threads of scrap stars and companies behaving badly I want to give my money to a great company. Tonic & Tim are beloved to me. They are getting my money! My DH had to fix a nick in a wood project tonight. I let him use my Distress Inks. He was like Tim is the Master! I hope you got that Tim. It is beginning to feel like all the bad scrap companies are taking down our industry. We need to support the good ones and thank them for being the bestest. I am covering E3 for the next few days. I had to do pre-coverage. Listening to all the gaming drama and reading scrapbooking drama I think I am drama burned out, lol.

I didn't enjoy (or I believe, deserve) the suggestion I didn't really know what was going on, had missed a logical sequitur and so on but hey this is pealand, right! There have been several MISTI apologists coming into these TH Stamp Platform threads and just trying to find something to justify MSP's actions, nitpicking left and right. It's possible you were mistaken for one of those. Nothing to worry about. It's true that a little extra clarification would've been necessary had it been a Tonic Studios general/international page post but it was indeed their USA account. Anyhoo, I came in here to say that my platform is on its way to me! I just got a shipment notification. Can I get a woop woop?

For all who commented....yes the charges were cleared immediately and the card was reissued.
When I logged on to my account it would not let me get to acct page until I confirmed the fraudulent vs valid charges(1) and indicated I had my card with me. When I clicked the final response I got notifucation that a new card would be on it's way. Easy peasy!

Since that last part was clearly a dig at me, I'm going to go ahead and say yes, you missed a few logical sequitur's. The first paragraph talks about distribution in the USA. The last paragraph mentions the warehouses they are shipping to are in California. And somewhere in the middle it thanks their followers for their support of "Tonic Studios USA INC". So, while I did leave out the "USA" part in my initial post, I really don't think it was that far of a leap to know they were talking about the USA release. Also, I pulled that from their Facebook page. They have posted a few updates on there as the delays have happened keeping their followers informed. I'm sure they were thinking their followers had seen all of the updates and they didn't need to post every detail in every update, as those that had been following know the product is only having issues in the USA and has been distributed elsewhere. Next time I'll just post a link.

I apologize if I took it incorrectly. Thank you for letting me know, because it sure felt like one! 😊 Peace, fellow scrapper. The old chestnut "this is pealand" which I used to make the point that stuff happens, perhaps caused stuff to happen. We don't know each other and words on screen do not always convey tone. Add to that the fact that feelings are apparently running high between two camps on this topic and posts are going to be misinterpreted, right? A very smart pea (she knows who she is ) let me know that even though my interest in this matter is intellectual (it seldom happens when my hobby and my old profession come together) and my stance is pretty neutral, I should beware of the fangirls. I am not saying you are one of them, BTW, but according to my correspondent they are not in debate mode. I enjoy a good debate but resented being eyerolled for not reading (?) when the words were right there and apparently not read by that person. Scrap on!
