When you leave home, do you carry some sort of ID?
Someone on the cashier thread said they do not.
I never leave home without my DL, credit card and cash in my pocket. Of course, I don't leave the house without driving, as we live in the country.
How will you be identified if you need emergency medical attention, get hurt in an accident or are the victim of a crime?
Or if you wanna buy an adult beverage? Once is a while a store asks for ID along w my Visa Cc...Old Navy did it last week, even though I don't think they are supposed to.

I do not. I keep it in the car. I only have it if I know I am buying alcohol or medication that requires it.
If I'm shopping I'll have something with my name on it with me, such as a store card or debit card, so in a medical emergency they'll have a name.

99.9% of the time. Every once in a while, I'll walk to the yoga/tai chi studio 3 blocks from my house without it, but I have my classes pre-paid there and rarely take anything but my house keys.

It's in my wallet. If I take my purse with me (which I usually do), I have it. If I'm walking around the neighborhood, I don't.

Yes, ALWAYS. I never leave my house without my driver's license.
(Except when just walking around the neighborhood.)

Yes, except to work which is 3 blocks up the street. It's a very small town and if an emergency happened going to and from work people who live between here and there would identify me or tell where I live.

Always always. What happens if you get pulled over by the cops? Walking? There's no legal requirement to carry ID here. If police stopped me and asked for ID, I would tell them I don't have any on me.
Driving? I don't drive without my license on me.

Most of the time, yes. Because most of the time I drive when I leave the house and I legally have to have my driver's license with me.
But if I were to take a stroll around the nieghborhood, probably not. However, I'm not one given to neighborhood strolls so.........

I normally do except when I am riding my bike. Since my husbands bike accident I have been riding alone so I have been thinking I probably need to put my DL in my pack. Just in case.

The only time I don't have my ID is when I am walking the dog. I might re-think that one. I usually carry my license, insurance card and debit card.

I actually have been (should I roll my eyes back at you?)
I think it's obvious to everyone that you should carry your ID when you're driving.

In case anyone didn't read, my friend was recently murdered on a walk. She did have her wallet and ID, no phone. The murderer was turned in by a family member because she found Lydia's wallet and ID in his possession after seeing her story on the news. So yeah, keep your ID with you. Even if it's taken by your murderer, maybe you will be lucky enough that the murderer's family has a conscience.
Yes, I realize that's a doom and gloom, far fetched thing that could happen, but as we know, it happens.
Besides, if you are driving, why would you not bring your license?

I do, mostly because I'm usually driving. At the very least, I'll put my DL, debit/credit card and maybe a little cash in my pocket. But I usually have to carry some kind of a bag, so it would have all that in there.
The only times that I don't have ID on me is when I'm out walking or cycling, and then I have my phone with me (for music when I'm walking and to track my rides when I'm riding), so the important info is in there.

My dd has been stopped by the police while out walking. The town had a curfew for minors and she looked very young so they stopped her. Fortunantly she did have id on her and could prove she was over 18. So it isn't terribly far fetched to be stopped while walking.
