I am not a drinker. Can't stand the taste of any alcohol. But I love beer bread. Because I don't drink beer, I'm clueless about different types, tastes, etc. So far whenever I've made beer bread I've just bought cheap beer. Do you use any special beer when making your beer bread? Do darker beers give the bread a heartier flavor? Have you used any of the seasonal beers like pumpkin ales? I don't even know the difference between a beer and an ale. Do you ever use anything other than beer, such as soda? I've been to a party where the hostess made it with Sprite and it was good, just had a sweet taste to it. Ever use any carbonated fruit juices? Give me your suggestions!

Usually I use Bud Light because that's what DH has in fridge. But I have used Samuel Adams Ocktober Fest (I'm not sure that's spelled right). It was good, honestly I couldn't tell a difference in taste.

Here's a topic I can sink my teeth into and give expert advise at the same time. I sell Tastefully Simple and our beer bread is the best around. Cheap or expensive beer all makes great bread with no major difference. I usually use Bud, Bud Light, or Samuel Adams. There is blueberry beer (the one with the dog wearing yellow rain gear) that makes great blueberry bread or muffins. It's pretty cool that you can make blueberry muffins without blueberries. All of the flavored beers are nice with it. Sodas are good too. If you look on the Tastefully Simple Website there are about 50 different recipes for beer bread. If anyone's interested in beer bread I'm happy to give you a pea discount if you contact me. I'm consultant 0061083.

I usually use Bud but I think any beer is good. I like to form rolls with the dough to roll them in cinnamon, brown sugar and white sugar. After they are baked I put a powder sugar and milk icing over them. It makes great cinnamon rolls or monkey bread.

I use whatever I have in fridge which Is rolling rock. I have tried a blueberry because my DD had one in the fridge which was really good, nice if you don't want to eat hundreds of calories of dip with it

I've used Angry Orchard beer to make beer bread before. It is the only beer I like because it tastes more like apples than like beer. It made a really yummy apple tasting beer bread. I've also used ginger ale before when making it and that turned out good too.

I like beer; specifically Miller Lite. But I do not like the taste of beer in my bread. When I make "Beer Bread" I use Sprite in place of beer.

Thanks everyone! I never thought about making cinnamon rolls with it. I see that in my future. I love the idea of blueberry beer or Angry Orchard to get a fruit flavor. I have several packs of Tastefully Simple beer bread mix on hand but I've also found a recipe to make it from scratch. I do think Tastefully Simple mixes are better.

I love to use pumpkin ales when they're available. I occasionally add a few handfuls of dark chocolate chips when I use the pumpkin beers. Yum!
