I think it looks great! Morgan will love the bright colors and all the stars.
I've never worked with fondant but it seems difficult.

I love it! You did a great job on it. Your son is going to love it! I have never done fondant; so can you tell me why it was hard?

I don't think it looks bad. Your kid will love it no matter what. For future reference, you could look into a Wilton product called Sugar Sheets. It's thin flexible edible stuff that comes in a bunch of colors and even some printed patterns that can be cut with a scissors, punches, etc. You can get it at places like Michael's. I made stars similar to that for one of DD's birthday cakes a couple years ago. I would have iced the Pokémon cake with white and red buttercream and put the details on with Sugar Sheets. ETA: I showed the pics to my 7yo DD and she said, "I think it looks GREAT because it's Pokémon!" So there you have it. Not ugly at all!

Any cake that's homemade with love is a good cake. And bonus points if you do that for your child's birthday. He'll love it!

I think it looks great! Morgan will love it that is what is important! Fondant is a pain at first, but you should give it another go. Next time make your own using marshmallows, I find it easier to work with and it tastes so much better!

I think you've done a great job and M will love it.
But, as someone with a lot of experience with fondant, it does look a bit shiny and wet. Fondant should be matt and dry looking. Dusting your hands with a small amount of crisco and powdered sugar while you're working is helpful. Also only use a tiny amount of sugar glue to stick pieces down. Liberally dust your work surface with powdered sugar or cocoa powder for dark colors. This is not meant to be a criticism because I think you did a great job - just some pointers if you decide to work with fondant again:)

If Morgan is happy with her Wonder Woman cake, that's all that matters.

I've came across worse ones but people who claim to be "professionals". This isn't bad at all for your first time using fondant and it looks better than anything I could ever do lol

There is no doubt in my mind that Morgan will be over the top in love with it. And that is the only person that matters in this case.
If it were my birthday and you made it for me, I would also be over the top in love.

Hey! For your second time working with it, not bad at all!!
And your DH is right - the more you work with it the better you get at it!
A few tips for you:
Cold cake is the key to starting great fondant. Fill your cake & crumb coat it (icing around the outside) and then chill it overnight. Do another coat of icing, and try to get it as smooth as you can. Back in the fridge.
Knead your fondant well - it should be stretchy when you pull it apart, it shouldn't just break & crumble. Fondant out of the bucket needs to be kneaded before using to make it pliable.
Use icing sugar to keep it from sticking - roll it out, and then get your cake out of the fridge and do your fondant.
Seriously - nice job for a second try!!!

I've made worse and my kids were thrilled. You are being way too hard on yourself. But, if you didn't enjoy the process, just buy one next year!

I think it looks fine! Fondant is tricky, and that's way better than I could do. Take a breather, if you need it. Morgan will love that cake.
