The CRV vs Escape thread made me wonder about what we all drive. I know my poll is a bit vague....I'm PUI so you'll have to bear with me on it. I've never really cared much about what I drive, ok, I did in my late teens and early twenties, but haven't since then. I don't need the latest and greatest, but when I do update my car, usually after 7 -12 years, I'll admit that it is nice to have new bells and whistles (Bluetooth anyone?) I'm solidly past mid life....unless I live to be amazingly old, and was thinking that if I ever want to do a fancy car, my next one had better be it! So, what do you drive?

I drive a 2009 Toyota Camry sedan that I bought when it was 2 years old. It definitely falls into the "middle of the road not too fancy" category.
My car before that was a 1995 Camry station wagon that I also bought when it was 2 years old and kept for 14 years.
I can't imagine ever buying a brand new car, unless I win the lottery.

Subaru Baja with nearly 200k on it. I am more attached to that thing than any vehicle ever. I keep going back in forth between driving it into the ground and getting a new vehicle. I believe I'm around your age, too and have been thinking along the same lines- that IF I pull the trigger it will be my more-bells-and-whistles-than-I-normally-care-about vehicle.
My mechanic(s) keeps "confusing" me by telling me I should be able to get another 100K out of it. Damn them. Or good! ( I can't decide)
ETA even if I go all bells and whistles, I think I'd go with barely used. New car prices are stupid
my baja is an 03 that I bought with 3K on it. Used car/new car

In between. 2004 Honda Pilot high end trim level but not the very highest at the time. It have over 180k miles and going strong.
I'm looking to up grade to a 2014 Odyssey. I love my Pilot but the mini van seat configuration is just better for my fam (kids still in boosters/car seats). We didnt love the new Pilot, which we would need to get the highest trim level to get the bucket seats.

I cannot buy new. I did once. Every other car I've had has been lightly (some more lightly than others) used.

I don't know fancy car labels, but I'd call a BMW a fancy car. Along with Mercedes, Audi, Lexus, etc. The ultra fancy would be like a Tesla, Bentley, Rolls.

Subaru Forester with about 75,000 miles on it. It's 11 years old and I would call it a Momobile.

I drive a 2012 Dodge Grand caravan minivan. With five kids we needed something big. And quite frankly the van was way more roomy than anything else we drove. I still have plenty of trunk space. I can put the seats down easily and use it to haul stuff. And the best part is that it has a DVD player in it which makes road trips so much nicer. It is seriously the nicest thing I have ever driven and I will drive it until it dies.

Mine's a bright red 2007 Pontiac Solstice, a little 2 seater convertible. I love that car, bought it new and I'm going to keep it until it falls apart.

I drive too far on a daily basis to trust having a clunker. My biggest fear is to break down on a So. Cal. freeway during rush hour. My previous car was 11 years old with almost 150K miles on it. It wasn't giving me any problems, but I felt it was only a matter of time. My current car is a middle of the road two year old. It has all the bells and whistles that is pretty standard now (bluetooth, navigation). The only high end thing that I really would like is seat memory! As a short person, I hate when people (car wash attendants, service guys) move my seat all the way back and then I have to find that just right spot again.

Last week I saw a BMW i8, which is about $150K! It was so pretty! Once in awhile I'll see a Lamborghini or a Ferrari. And there is someone at my workplace that drives a Nissan GT-R ($110K). Apparently we pay some people at my work way too much money.

We have a fancy 2004 Chevy Venture.
My DH hates it but we only put about 5000 km on it a year and it just isn't enough to justify the cost of a new car. It is very reliable and has just over 100k on it, but if we are going on a rare longer trip, we usually rent an SUV.

I drive a 2008 Mazda cx9. It's not fancy, but it still runs and looks great. Dh drives a 2014 (?) Nissan juke. It's his zippy commuter car. And we have a 20 year old subaru Forrester for the kids to learn to drive in. It still runs great too, but the body has seen better days.
I'll be getting a new car in the next couple of years. It's finally time to downgrade the size.

Mine was nice and loaded when I bought it 10 years ago. It's a 2005 Chevy Tahoe Z71. It's all black with blacked out tint and awesome Toyo tires. I love that about it. But now it's on the verge of clunker status. Needs about $1500 in repairs. I want to buy something new this fall, but also really don't want a car payment again.

Formerly fancy-ish? 2007 Lexus 400h (hybrid). I like a nice car but it doesn't have to be the latest or greatest. Since it only has 60,000 miles I could drive it for a good long while, but I hate the color! So petty, but it's silver and so is every other SUV in So. Cal. Impossible to find in a parking lot. Dh drives a Tesla.

2004 Toyota van and DH drives a 2003 Ford. Knock on wood because they have both reliable, and are paid for.

I've owned one new car in my life and drove it for 12 years before circumstances forced me into a van. Since then we buy a couple of years old, low mileage and fully loaded. My current car is a Camry.
I do sort of regret not getting a Mazda Miata when they first came out but I was raised in a family that held onto cars forever. One of my nieces still drives my dad's 85 Honda.

I told DH he wasn't allowed to drive it! The gas cap is like $700 to replace. Crazy.

2017 Escape with Titanium package. I wouldn't call it 'fancy schmancy' but it is pretty darn nice. DH drives a 2004 diesel pickup that is showing its age, and we're seriously choking on the cost of even a decent used one. We recently looked at a two year old Denali that cost more than our first house!

When I got my car, it was brand new and super fancy, haha. I was 15 when I got my 2003 Mini Cooper. I still have it and drive it! So now it's super old, but still looking pretty good.
