Yes, my daytime running lights are always on and switch over automatically as conditions warrant. I have an older car but have the daytime lights that remain lit while I drive. I turn on my headlights, though, if it's raining.

Mine are set on Automatic, so they go on whenever the sensor says they should. Was it an overcast day? Also, some cars are now equipped with daytime running lights, so they are on during the day. What most people don't realize is that headlights are mor for people to see you than they are for you to see. If your car has the auto setting, set it there and forget about it.

I have a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer and it has daytime running lights, and headlights come on automatically. I don't understand why all manufacturers don't have that.

Ours has daytime running lights on all the time, and the headlights are set to come on automatically.

Mine are also set to auto so not only do I not have to turn them on, I don't have to turn them off. I used to be really bad about turning them on in say, a parking garage, and then forgetting to turn them off and my battery being run down when I went back out.
Thankfully my car plays the prettiest little chiming noise if I leave my lights on. As soon as I take the keys from the ignition it chimes.

Mine are automatic so either the running lights or the headlights are always on. It really should be a standard things on all cars. Forget all the people who don't turn on their lights when it's foggy or raining, I regularly see people who don't even turn them on when it's fully dark!

Mine are automatic and I didn't like it at first, but now I think it would be weird to have a vehicle without them.

I have automatic daytime running lights. Therefore my lights are on all the time (low lights) and they automatically come on full power when it is dark or raining.
Don't most cars do this?

Nope they don't. It isn't the law in the US. I know it is in Canada though. I have a 2013 Mazda and it doesn't have running lights.

ALWAYS. It's a totally ingrained habit. This became an automatic feature on all new cars in Canada a long time ago and I became aware of the safety reasons for turning them on, even though our older car did not have this feature. I've been living the the U.S. for over a quarter century and my 12 yo car does not have the auto lights.. but I don't need them. Again, totally ingrained habit.

Our headlights are always on. They turn themselves off automatically after I shut off the car.
eta: our car is a 2013 but the headlights are not automatic. We have on, off, parking, or daytime running lights. We always just keep them on.

I do. I'm not sure when or why I developed a habit of it, but I turn my lights on every time I drive without fail. Exactly this. I have no idea when I started to do this, but it's a habit now.

nope, I don't turn them on, but my car has automatic-on running lights. My BF's car has an 'auto' setting, but for some reason, he likes to turn the actual lights on himself during the day...?? It kind of irritates me, to be honest, because sometimes he'll forget to turn them off, and I don't think his car beeps to tell him.
eta: I will turn them on if conditions warrant it (windshield wipers, rain, fog, dusk, etc), but I really don't think they need to be on all the time, as long as the person is a conscientious driver.

Yes, it's mandated in Canada that all new cars since Dec 1989 have automatic daytime running lights. It's much easier to see cars coming from the opposite direction.
We were surprised while driving in New England during a rainstorm a couple of weeks ago, that 95% of the people on the interstate had no lights on whatsoever. It was very hard to see them in the pouring rain.

Mine are automatic. They're not the full-on headlights that come on at night, but during the day I doubt you'd know the difference.

Mine are automatic. They sense the amount of light and turn themselves on or off. My last vehicle had running lights that stayed on all of the time.
