Which big box craft store do you tend to go to more, or like better?
For me, it is Michaels. I like their selection better, especially their art supplies. The store setup just appeals to me more. We have a Hobby Lobby, but I never find anything much there. We also have a Joann's but I rarely go there.

Michael's, but not because I like it the most. It's really because it's the most convenient. There is one only a few blocks from where I work, and there's one that's only a 10-minute drive from my home. I used to really like JoAnn's, but lately their shelves are always empty. I have a Super Store about 25 minutes away, but I'm always disappointed when I drive over.

AC Moore used to be my favorite.
Now I have a Michaels near my office so that's the one I go to for basic things now.

I go to M's and A C Moore.
I like M's because:
They have a whole aisle of clearance that I often can find really good embellishments in.
They will use their coupons to take a percentage off, even if I don't have a physical coupon with me. (I don't own a smartphone, so I can't do it that way)
They have the $1 & $1.50 bins that I find fun stamps in.
My M's is right next to my closest Walmart, so it is super easy to pop in when I'm going there.
I like ACM because:
The survey company I take surveys for offers ACM gift cards (no othe craft place g/c's), so a few times a month I have a free $25 g/s for ACM that is fun to spend.
My ACM often has bins outside of discount stamps & stickers. It's fun to root through them.
My ACM is near a Dollar Tree I go to, so I stop in when I hit the $ tree.
I don't have a Hobby Lobby anywhere close, so I don't go there.
There is a J's within driving distance, but it's almost 40 minutes one way, and that's too far when it's not a sure thing.

we have a Michaels and a brand-new Hobby Lobby here. I'll stop in one or the other fairly often.
ACMoore is about 90 min from here - I enjoy stopping in when I'm near one simply because it's different and has a different selection
JoAnns is about 45 min one way or 90 min the other direction - I haven't been in for a while - I tend to think of Joanns for sewing more than scrapping.

Hobby lobby, then Michaels. I live about 30 from Joanns, and only go there if I hear they have something I've been looking for.

I like my big 3 for different reasons.
M's - they have less on sale, so when good coupons come out (especially now that they do the 60% off ones on occasion, too) I can actually get good things with them. J's - they have a very generous coupon policy. they used to also have a lot of good things online, but not so much the past year which makes me sad. HL - they seem to get the most current product and rotate through things more frequently than the other 2 do and they actually get REAL 12x12 collection packs instead of the thin rebranded single sheets that you find at M's or J's that is utter crap. The price point is usually less than you'd find the kit for when it was new ($14.99 kits from EP are $9.99 and go on sale for half of frequently, for example). I've been waiting for new collection packs for a while...it seems like the paper aisle is the only one that hasn't gone an overhaul in the past couple of months.

Hobby Lobby has the best selection. Michaels has the easier checkout process. Pick your poison.

I boycott Hobby Lobby based on the extremist religious platform of their owners.

All three are within 5-20 minutes (as well as Tuesday Morning). I just go with the sales/coupon that week.

It depends on what I'm looking for. HL has a better selection of paper and ink. Michael's has more variety in misc. embellishments. Since there are 2 Michael's near me I'll usually go there for adhesive and blades for my paper cutter.

JoAnn, Michaels, and Hobby Lobby are all in the same area. I like Hobby Lobby and Michaels. Our JoAnns is dirty, the scrap sections has twindled significantly, and the checkers are soooooo s l o w.
I mostly get Thickers, washi tape, white bazzill card stock, stickers, and hermafix refills.
Everything else is bought on line.

I dislike them all, for various reasons.
Even if I didn't disagree with the Hobby Lobby owner's politics, the only day that's any good for me to get over to mine is Sundays, so...
Joann's people are clueless. I wanted a stamp set from them. It showed five in stock and available to order online/pick up in store. So I went up there. Shelf is empty. I bought something else. Cashier asked if I found everything I was looking for. I said "not really." And explained what I had been looking for and wondering if there was backstock (because I checked all the boxes on top of the shelves). She shrugged and said the computer's not always accurate. I said I realized that but what would happen if I placed the ONLINE ORDER FOR STORE PICKUP. Because I was assuming that order will come up with a location number (just like if you, oh, scanned the shelf tag-- I've done inventory for retail stores). She just at me, shrugged, and said she DIDN'T KNOW HOW THAT WORKED.
And Michael's. Not only will they not stop reorganizing their stores, but they keep putting more junk in the aisles and they only ever have like one cashier, who doesn't know what she's doing half the time. (Although to be fair, the last time, I had a cashier who was totally on top of things, right down to having an extra coupon he could scan for me.)

I mostly go to Michaels. It's the closest and I can generally find what I need there.
I'll go to Joann's if I need fabric for something.
We don't have a hobby lobby and the closest AC Moore is basically a clearance store so they don't have what I need on a regular basis and I just don't think, about going there.

Michaels is closer to home and Hobby Lobby is closer to work. Joanns is out of the way, so I rarely go there.

We have all three in town within a couple of miles of each other - so it depends on what I'm wanting. Most of the time I go to Jo's just because their selection of cardstock and adhesives seems to be better. If I'm looking for stickers - Hobby Lobby seems to have the biggest selection. I haven't been going to Micheal's much since they have gone mostly to their own brand - don't care for the Recollections brand at all.
We also have a LSS and a fabric store that has a large supply of ribbons and other trims, buttons, and zippers.

I went to all 3 last Saturday and was shocked at the quantity of scrappy stuff at hobby lobby (tons of stuff). In the city of Lakewood,California, all three stores are within a block of each other. I just have to remember to trek out there on a Saturday, not Sunday. It sounds like the selection varies at each location.

I boycott Hobby Lobby based on the extremist religious platform of their owners. I do as well. And the latest scandal of smuggling religious artifacts just cements my disgust with the company. How very Christian. The Ten Commandments must be like the Pirate Code, more what you'd call guidelines than actual rules. I prefer Michaels over JoAnns for sales and variety. We have a chain called Beverly's which would be my second choice. (It would be my first choice because they stock great scrapbook and mixed media supplies, but there are fewer locations.) JoAnns is only for when I need fabric or sewing notions.

The two closest to my house (Tuesday Morning and Craft Warehouse, a local craft chain) are my most shopped at stores.
Joann's is pretty close but the scrappy section is tiny. Over half of the store is fabric, with maybe two aisles of scrap stuff, also the location is weird next to a pawn shop and across from a really really gross motel. There is a bigger store on the other side of town.
Michael's is farthest away (with a big chance of being stuck in stop and go traffic) so it's my 4th choice
The closest Hobby Lobby is 2 hours away (if traffic is good) so I haven't shopped there.
