I posted a similar thread on SplitCoastStampers about a week or so ago, but it has since been deleted. I guess those guys don't like the truth, do they? It's much easier to live in blissful denial than it is to admit that Bitter Petunia isn't a true Christian and that she--gasp--infringed upon the patents for other people's inventions. Hopefully I am in better company here at 2Peas when I say that I have mixed feelings about Bitter Petunia and her claim to have invented the MISTI. Long story short, the MISTI isn't original. It is basically J.B. Liberman's portable printing press flipped over. www.google.com/patents/US3062136?dq=portable+printing+pressIf you follow that link to J.B.'s patent and examine the diagrams carefully, you will see that his portable press has a hinged lid that closes down to print an image, the same way a MISTI has a hinged lid that closes down to print an image. The only difference is that in Lieberman's press, the "stamp" (in his case, the press plate or template) rested on the bottom, and you would close the lid, with paper attached, down onto the template to be 'pressed' or printed onto the paper. The MISTI is basically that very same thing, only flipped over (so that the stamp is on the lid instead of the base). The only thing Iliana has done is convert Lieberman's portable printing press to plastic/acrylic, add rulers to the edges, and flip it over--she didn't actually invent anything new. Even if Iliana is unaware of the existence of the *portable* printing press, if she were a TRUE Christian, then she would have been forthcoming to the patent office and admitted that she got her idea from a regular letterpress, instead of insisting that she invented something new--because WE ALL KNOW she got her idea from the letterpress. What we didn't know is that she outright stole someone else's invention and claimed it as her own. I have submitted another post about the MISTI patent infringement to SCS and it is now "pending approval," probably because my last post had people up in arms since SCS is a very MSP-loyal group of sheep. I know my new post will probably not pass approval because it tells the truth, and God forbid any bit of truth be spoken on SCS because those hateful people will have their precious bubbles burst, and we can't have that! If you want more information on J.B. Lieberman, you can visit this page. If you have any information on J.B. Lieberman's family or next-of-kin and how I can contact them to let them know of Bitter Petunia's patent infringement upon his invention, please let me know. Iliana's acquisition of a patent for a stolen invention is a greater injustice than the crafting community even realizes right now, and getting her patent omitted and made defunct will bring a great deal of justice to the crafting community.

Welcome to the board!
This is a topic that has already been discussed here a lot. Most of us agree with you at least to some extent. I certainly feel that she should not have received the patent. In the patent application, she did list the WRMK letterpress as being a similar invention. I think another was listed, too, but I'm too lazy to read through all that paperwork and legal jargon again.
At this point, MSP is not getting much in the way of business from the gals here. Most of us are far more interested in the Tim Holtz/Tonic stamp press. Some already have one in hand because they ordered the original from England. There are others of us who have pre-ordered it from a U.S. supplier and are anxiously awaiting ours while drooling over the pictures of those who are already enjoying it. I finally pre-ordered mine last night and can't wait!
The Tonic stamp press is going forward. MSP will get her day in court if she hasn't already, but I suspect it will backfire on her. She could get her patent revoked. There will be few if any tears for her at this board. She got rather unpleasant with some of the members here who had made their own. Don's looked awesome. MSP demanded he remove pictures of his homemade stamp press. He stood up to her. It definitely did not win her any fans here.
However, I think most of us have gotten to the point that our focus is now more about getting our hands on the Tonic stamp press a.s.a.p. It looks amazing!
Again, welcome to the board!

Too bad for Sour Petunia, that Tim Holtz is well-known, more talented, and a whole lot more like-able! He did not get to be a big name for nothing.

Welcome aboard! SCS is totally loyal to MSP, especially the person running it...she is on MSP's design team. I hope TH wins the lawsuit because his product is different from hers and more well-made than hers. I am one of the few Canadians that got their hands on the TH platform from the UK. Yeah!

It's no surprise that SCS shut you down, since MSP is one of their big sponsors. A lot of stampers were turned off by her nastiness, long before the TH/Tonic platform lawsuit. It created a real rift on that board, members were banned, and lots of others left. It's not the homogeneous group that it used to be, now that they have to bow down to the wishes of a sponsor that is allowed to control the content. Like scrapnnana said, we're moving on. I got my TH/Tonic platform, and it is awesome! I added this thread for reference to the GS board's Consolidating Stamp Positioner Threads.

altenewLOVER4ever You are definitely in better hands here at 2peas than SCS. Threads don't get shut down, deleted or need approval by admin. And people are allowed to speak their opinion freely. It's refreshing and liberating. Welcome!

I'm one of those who ordered from the UK because I couldn't stand waiting until July for the TH Positioner. I absolutely love it and it was worth the additional shipping costs! I never had the desire for a Misti but based on what I've heard about her bully tactics, I wouldn't support her.

MSP has had a big hold on SCS since even before she had her own forum there. I dared to speak out about my cracked misti and suddenly I couldn't post at SCS anymore. No one who works there could figure out why but I think I know. Pissed me off because I'm a stampin up demo and used the demo forums a lot. I was also a member of their subscription at one point but no more.

Welcome to the board. This isn't linked to a store and there are no sponsors making rules so relax and enjoy. You can also check out the scrapbooking forum. We have some stamping talk there too, BTW after all those not so sweet posts from MSP I would never by a MISTI. I'm another one looking forward to the Tim Holutz platform.

craftymama, I just moved over here a few weeks ago and am getting adjusted. I don's spend a lot of time on the boards but I really like it here much better! As for your posts at SCS...just so you know, it's one person in particular that is doing all the deleting, Lydia (AKA Understand Blue).
gale w, I wondered where you disappeared to!

Which sucks because I did like them, until they became so over the top moderated and rah rah MSP!

I just can't post. Well I can, but no one can see my posts. So what's the point. I had almost 10K posts there from around 2004 so I was really ticked. Still am, a little.

I remember your back and forth with them so didn't even waste my time!! I do have a google email I think, but haven't used it enough to remember it. Figures they'd know you under your new log in

I've been blocked twice for two weeks each time. I think a post I made in the last few days was deleted... I can't find it. It was about feeling bad about throwing away stamps that went through a fire 9 years ago that are starting to disintegrate. You know, there's no rhyme or reason to them following their own rules.

Welcome, Splitcoaststampers! We have this nice little stamping forum made just for you. If you feel adventurous, check out the General Scrapping board, as well as the NSBR. There's always lots of information and opinions to be found. It's never boring, anyway!

Lydia is an ass kissing twat that has single handedly ruined SCS. She banned me for posting a link to an SU mini before it was published.
Thankfully with Pinterest and google I no longer need SCS for their gallery.

Lots of people have commented on the MISTI issue and not all have been nice so it's curious that some people had their threads deleted. For the record, not everyone on that board is a MISTI fan, there are a great many there that prefer the other products coming out. Same as on this board.

I like my misti. I bought mine well before all this hoopla started. I'll use it until it dies. I'll decide then which model fits my needs the best. I don't have any ill intent towards her at all. Geez this topic has been discussed to death. I say chips fall where they may.
