From CNN....
"WaPo & NYT: Trump’s legal team is trying to undercut Mueller cnn.it/2ufKAN2"
If tiny hands and his family have nothing to hide why does his "legal team" feel the need to do this? They are going after Mueller and those he hired.
I don't get it.

trump jobs should be offered to American workers first.
From CBS News...
"The Trump family's Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Florida, has submitted requests with the Department of Labor to hire 70 foreign workers.
The club recently asked for permission to hire 15 housekeepers, 20 cooks and 35 waiters on H-2B visas, according to DOL filings made public Thursday during the White House's "Made in America"-themed week. The visas are granted when there are supposedly not enough American workers willing to do the jobs. The foreign employees would work October through May, during the club's regular season. Earlier this week, President Trump expanded the national cap on H-2B visas by 15,000 people."

there might be a thread about this somewhere else, but I don't want to forget... yesterday afternoon (on MSNBC?) they were ticking off his 'accomplishments' since he's been in office (since yesterday was his 6 month anniversary in office). He has been golfing FORTY DAYS out of his first 6 months in office. I can hear the justifications for that already, though... being President is tough; he deserves to take some time off... etc. etc.

What ticks me off is that he (and a crap ton of his R buddies) spent so much time bitching about Obama playing golf, and said he would park his ass in the WH and work, work, work. Such a lying, cheating hypocrite. Actually, the more time he spends golfing, the better, as far as I'm concerned. That much less time he has for making trouble for the rest of us. Do you happen to remember which show this was on? I have some of them recorded but usually don't get around to watching.

^^^ yeah, it's totally the hypocrisy of it that gets me, too... I'd rather he didn't do any work at all, but the BLATANT hypocrisy of it is galling. I'll check and see if I can figure out which show... I know it was when I was in the car listening to Sirius MSNBC on my commute home after work. I couldn't find it... but I did find this CNN story that gives his first 6 months 'by the numbers' compared to Obama and Bush. here's the golf # that I heard: "By our count, he has spent 21 of his first 26 weekends in office at properties bearing his name. And he has spent 40 days at Trump brand golf properties." Here's the link to the entire story on CNN.com: President Trump's first 6 months, by the numbers.

From MSNBC... "Sen. Bill Cassidy: Not important for Trump to understand health care bill on.msnbc.com/2tLCtpf" I just can't believe how they dumb down for trump. President Obama was out selling the ACA and he knew what was in it. Amd for a president not to understand a bill he will sign is stupid. The scary thing is that Trump *thinks* he understands it and that he knows a lot about healthcare! He even gave a speech in WI a few months back with 2 families whose premiums had gone up and were anti-ACA. Now he apparently thinks we pay $12/year or whatever to get a great plan by age 70. I wish I could say "unbelievable!" but sadly this is a regular occurrence. Save

don't know which thread to put this one on, but this article from the Huffington Post is kind of depressing: The Law Won't Stop TrumpIt's basically discussing all the various protections that are in place for him by virtue of his holding the office of President. ETA: I totally agree with the sentiments expressed in the comment below: "In a country that prides itself of the rule of law, this is what it has come to?
How in the world does the US now have the audacity to tell the rest of the world that they should follow the law - international or otherwise- when they have elected and continue to defend or be indifferent to the actions of a madman? Had a movie/novel been written detailing all that this man has wrought on this nation and the world, no one would have found it remotely plausible. How does a minority of diehard fanatics hold the rest of the country hostage with this man as leader?
How did institutions, politicians and the American public become so impotent?"

So, DH and I were chatting with a guy at the hotel last night and he says he believes Trump is doing all this to ruin the GOP for good. I asked him why he thought that and he said "because he was a lifelong democrat and it's the only thing that makes any sense to me right now."
Thinking on it...hmmm but I doubt Trump is that smart.

Trump is not a lifelong Democrat. While he has been a democrat. The most accumulative time, he has he's been a republican. He hasn't switched parties often, he has been in both parties and registered twice as an independent. He has no life long loyalty to anyone besides himself. And I also don't believe he is that calculating any longer. m.washingtontimes.com

Last night on Rachel Maddow she talked about a comment made by trump lawyer John Dowd that appeared in a Bloomberg Politics article. Rachel and her producers thought it was interesting enough to call Dowd to ask him about it. His response was that trump wan't under investigation and he would never talk to the producer again.
The comment that prompted the call...
"Those transactions are in my view well beyond the mandate of the Special counsel; are unrelated to the election of 2016 or any alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia and most importantly, are well beyond any Statute of Limitation imposed by the United States Code,” he wrote in an email. "
Why would the lawyer bring up statute of limitations?

In The NY Times interview trump rambled on about health care and how a young person pays x $ and when he gets old he will have a nice tidy sum. At first, as usual, some couldn't figure out what he was talking about. Then it was decided he may have been confusing health care insurance with life insurance.
I believe this tweet may have confirmed that...
Why does Trump think health insurance costs $12/year? Because Gerber advertises life insurance for babies on Fox News for about that price."

This is a new low but to be expected in this administration. ....
From the Daily Beast....
"A trio of Democratic Senators has written the Department of Health and Human Services demanding more information on the money it has spent on a public relations campaign to effectively undermine Obamacare.
In their letter, Sens. Brian Schatz (D-HI), Cory Booker (D-N.J.), and Chris Murphy (D-CT) request specific expenditures the department has made on a series of anti-Obamacare testimonial videos posted to HHS’ website. They also suggest that the department's Secretary, Tom Price, may have violated the Anti-Lobbying Act in encouraging repeal-and-replace efforts.
“We are concerned that the use of appropriated funds to promote legislation pending before Congress violate both HHS’s constitutional responsibility to implement existing law, and legal prohibitions against using taxpayer dollars to lobby in favor of pending legislation,” the senators write. “The ACA is the law of the land, and HHS officials have an obligation to uphold and implement it.”
The letter comes on the heels of an investigation by The Daily Beast revealing that HHS produced anti-Obama videos with funds from a budget meant to help promote the Affordable Care Act. Representatives for the department refused to comment for that piece and continue to not answer questions about the origin of the video funding. But in an email on Friday afternoon, HHS' national spokesperson, Alleigh Marré, said that the videos fell within the department's mission "to enhance and protect the health and well-being of all Americans." "As evidenced by these important and educational testimonials, the status quo has made that impossible for millions of Americans," Marré emailed. "The Administration is committed to reforming the current healthcare system to bring down the cost of coverage, expand healthcare choices, and strengthen the safety net for generations to come.”
Those videos were just one component of an anti-Obamacare PR effort undertaken by a department that is ostensibly tasked with implementing the law. In addition, HHS has scrubbed mentions of the Affordable Care Act off of its website and erased sections that were used to help consumers understand and buy insurance.
But it was Price's tweets that Senators suggested may have violated law prohibiting the department from engaging in forms of covert propaganda. "The Anti-Lobbying Act precludes federal employees from participating in 'substantial grass roots' lobbying campaigns designed to encourage the public to contact members of Congress and pressure them on legislative matters," they write in their letter.
An HHS official disputed the notion that either Price's tweets or the videos overstepped legal bounds under the department's appropriations statute. Both, said an aide, were efforts at "informing the public about the need to improve the status quo" which was "well within [HHS'] authority to educate and inform."

"A new INTELLIGENCE LEAK from the Amazon Washington Post, this time against A.G. Jeff Sessions. These illegal leaks, like Comey's, must stop!"
prompted this response by Jake Tapper..
"Wherein the president confirms that this is an intelligence leak. whoops?"
Which means it's true. Personally I think trump leaked it by using one of his made up sources so Sessions has to quit. But I don't think Sessions will quit and they will have to drag him out of his office and toss him on the street right under the bus.
