That man deserves a Pulitzer.
ETA I'm referring to Paul Waldman, author of the WaPo piece a couple of posts above.

From CBS News... “Donald Trump...ran a smarter campaign and that is why he won. Suggesting otherwise ridicules those who voted for him,” Kushner says" I'm not if the campaign was smarter but every word of what trump was going to do for those who voted for him was a lie. In other words he conned his voters. The only people who can't seem to let go of the election are Trump and Co. Democrats are challenging his poor leadership and strange priorities, not the fact that he won the election.

I like Paul Waldman and this is one of the reasons why...

This trump tweet...
"Drain the Swamp should be changed to Drain the Sewer - it's actually much worse than anyone ever thought, and it begins with the Fake News!"
Prompted this response from Paul Waldman...
"You thought "the swamp" meant corruption and self-dealing, turns out it meant "People not praising me and letting me do whatever I want."

trump talked about the swamp really being a sewer. I wonder if he was thinking about this when he tweeted it?
(Reuters) - The head of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Scott Pruitt, was in his home state of Oklahoma on at least 43 of the 92 days of March, April and May, according to copies of his travel records obtained by the Environmental Integrity Project watchdog group and reviewed by Reuters.
Pruitt’s frequent visits to Oklahoma have raised concerns among critics that he is cultivating political relationships in the state at taxpayer expense, instead of focusing on his job as head of the environmental regulator. EPA officials contend that Pruitt works hard and pays for his trips home to Tulsa to see his wife and children.
"Administrator Pruitt works long hours and is available around the clock," said EPA spokeswoman Liz Bowman. "He is extremely focused and disciplined, which is evident by the fact that he spearheaded over two dozen significant regulatory actions since being sworn in."
Pruitt has riled environmentalists by routinely raising doubts about the realities of climate change and by vowing to sweep away scores of Obama-era regulations rules to help business. Before becoming head of the EPA under Republican President Donald Trump, he was Oklahoma’s attorney general and repeatedly sued the agency he now runs to block federal environmental rules.
The travel records show Pruitt's schedule this spring often took him to cities in the U.S. heartland where he held meetings – often with oil and gas industry representatives - made speeches and attended events, before flying to Tulsa for extended weekends.
The records showed Pruitt paid for some legs of the trips directly related to his visits home, although it was not clear he paid for all such legs.
The airfare for Pruitt’s travel to and from Oklahoma totaled more than $12,000, the Environmental Integrity Project said. That did not include travel and lodging expenses for his staff or his security detail, the records for which were not immediately available.
The practice of spending long weekends away from Washington was seen as unusual by former officials.
"The American people aren't paying taxes for part-time Cabinet officials," said Liz Purchia Gannon, who was spokeswoman for former EPA head Gina McCarthy, who served under former Democratic President Barack Obama during his second term.
McCarthy’s family lived in Boston while she was head of the EPA, and she “fit travel home into her personal time,” Purchia Gannon said.
A source who worked for former EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson, McCarthy’s predecessor, said Jackson’s family moved to Washington during her tenure, so she did not have to travel to see them. Jackson was not available for comment.

I hope the courts disagree with this. First amendment rights not withstanding, words have consequences.
From Politico
"President Donald Trump is asking a federal appeals court to shut down a lawsuit filed by protesters who claim they were assaulted at Trump’s instigation during a 2016 campaign rally in Kentucky.
Trump’s lawyers have asked the Cincinnati-based 6th Circuit Court of Appeals to head off an act of “political sabotage” by ordering a federal judge to throw out the lawsuit filed last year by three demonstrators. They alleged that when Trump declared, “Get ’em out of here,” he incited some in the crowd to beat up the protesters. (He later added: “Don’t hurt ’em.”)
A petition Trump’s legal team filed Thursday with the 6th Circuit stops just short of arguing that the president is immune from litigation over events that preceded his swearing-in, but contends that allowing this sort of suit to proceed while Trump is in office will be too disruptive.
“Allowing Plaintiffs’ vexatious claims to proceed would threaten the constitutional separation of powers by imposing an undue burden on the President and the Executive Branch,” Trump lawyer Michael Carvin wrote.
The Trump filing seeks an unusual form of relief known as mandamus, which allows a higher court to step into a pending case even when it is at a stage where a typical appeal is not available.
Carvin also argues that U.S. District Court Judge David Hale erred when he rejected Trump’s motion to throw out the case. Trump’s lawyers say the judge misinterpreted First Amendment precedents by suggesting that Trump could be liable for damages in the case even if he did not intend for anyone to get hurt or do anything illegal.
“Even if Mr. Trump were a private citizen, mandamus would be warranted solely for the purpose of avoiding irreparable harm to his First Amendment rights,” Carvin wrote."

Ok, I'm watching TV and there is coverage of Trump's speech at the Boy Scout Jamboree. He swore. Who cusses in a speech to the boy scout's? Then all about the swamp, or cess pool or now as he calls it, the sewer. Ugh. I loathe him.

So I just saw a short YouTube video of the Boy Scouts yelling "we love trump" and then booed President Obama when trump asked if President Obama ever spoke at a Jamboree.
In their little tan outfits it sort of reminded me of Hitler speaking to the youth of Germany.
I mean really yelling "we love trump" and the smirk on trump's face was disgusting.

I heard talk on radio about his Boy Scout speech. He has no sense of appropriateness. I didn't hear the clip, but it was said that 45 thanked the (underage) Boy Scouts for voting for him. (I guess there is voter fraud?!)

And not in the biblical sense. I just think that to church groups and kid's groups, there shouldn't be any curse words. ETA Thankfully, I don't give speeches to church or kid's groups, I'd be a hypocrite, for sure.

So is tiny hands threatening Amazon?
"Is Fake News Washington Post being used as a lobbyist weapon against Congress to keep Politicians from looking into Amazon no-tax monopoly?"
The tweet prompted this tweet by Bradd Jaffy...
—"Amazon pays taxes/collects state sales tax —The president is threatening a company because its owner also owns a newspaper he doesn't like"

From Richard Painter.....
"The Boy Scouts must distance themselves from that offensive attempt to politicize scouting and turn them into a Trump youth organization."
It seems I wasn't the only one who thought trump's Boy Scout's speech and the reaction was shades of Hitler

From CNN....
"Sen. Mitch McConnell: Many of us have made commitments "to provide relief from this failed, left-wing experiment"
"We can do better than Obamacare," McConnell says ahead of today's vote to begin debate on GOP health care bill."
The entire time prior to the election all you heard was about all the lies Hillary told and how she couldn't be trusted. I spent sooo much time tracking down all of Hillary's lies and most were a figment of the repeater's imagination. Never could figure out why Hillary couldn't be trusted but whatever. So she didn't win the election.
Now we have an administration that tells lie after lie. Lies that can be proven that they are lies. And today the biggest most damaging lies, lies that will hurt millions of Americans are being told in the Senate. And because of the idiot in the White House a health care bill could become law that most definitely does not "do better than Obamacare".
But hey, so what if millions of Americans get hurt, it's not Hillary. My observation is how dumb is that? How absolutely stupid is that?
