***UPDATE** Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for me today. Please excuse any typos as they dilated my eyes and I am still having issues reading small type. So I may say something crazy like I did when I texted my DH while my eyes were being dilated. I was trying to tell him they my eyes were dilating and instead, my typo was auto corrected to say they were roasting! LOL ANYWAY, they ran a thousand tests as well as an ultrasound. Everything is good. The zigzags are ocular migraines. I do need to get readers, but they have to be made because each eye is different, so I can't just go grab a pair off the rack. I will do that once I can see clearly again. I don't want to pick out something super ugly. LOL He did say he wanted me to try the readers at night while driving as well as in the movie theater just to see if I might be able to see clearer. I didn't think I had an issue in dark situations , but I will test them out and see what happens. So, all in all, everything is good, other than my "White coat blood pressure" reading while I was there. 165/88! Crazy! I will take it again after I rest up and hope that's all it was. Thank you all again. I really appreciate it! *END UPDATE* I have an eye Dr. appointment tomorrow. I have had 4 instances of seeing rainbow zigzags in what seems to be in my left eye, but can be seen when I cover each eye separately as well. I have been told that it could be an ocular migraine (No pain associated with it when it happens), but my GP said she is a little concerned that it could be that my retina is separating and may need to be tacked back down. So, my results COULD be the tacking down, possible glasses when on the computer, or something completely different. I have NO idea what to expect, so please say a little prayer for peace for me as well as a good, easily fixable diagnosis. Thanks!

My DH had OM's due to working on computers all day and has to wear glasses at work when his eyes get tired, and he didn't have either of those symptoms either. He saw a white tunnel light, though, and not the rainbow zigzag. The zigzag comes in a half circle shape on the left side. It does make it a little hard to see while it is going on. It almost looks like it does when you have been out in the sun looking up into the sunny sky.

Thanks everyone. I have never had any issues with my eyes, so I am nervous about it. My parents and most of the older people in my family have glasses, with the exception of me and my brother. Most of them ended up with them between their 30's and 40's, so it is probable that I will end up with them sooner or later.

You are smart to get checked out by a doctor.
But wanted to say that my ocular migraines typically present as a small "blind" spot in my peripheral vision followed by an expanding, shimmering, zigzag pattern. (ETA: and it is sort of a half circle shape.) I think this is pretty common.
So try not to worry until you know more!

I get a sparkely silver zig-zag semi-circle that starts like a dot and then gets big and disappears over about 1/2 hour. After the light display finishes, my headache hits and I'm down for the count. My dh only gets the ocular part and not the headache. That's what yours sounds like to me.

Thinking of you. I've had scary eye issues, so I kind of know what you're going through. Glad you're going to the eye doc.
