I was just shocked when I saw this on FB. I am too old to really be a fan but my oldest DS loved them in HS. So, of course, I listened. AND still listen to them. Just so sad.
I read that he and Chris Cornell were really good friends. Today would have been Chris' 53rd bday.

I've been a fan since I was 14. This is the first celebrity suicide (or death from any cause, really) that has really hit home for me. His music with Linkin Park and Dead By Sunrise have both gotten me through so much. I just can't believe it.

So incredibly sad! My DH was a big fan. I read he had 2 wives. Was this common knowledge that I missed?

I know it might sound silly, but I have some of their songs queued up for when I'm doing long distance training. Growing up, my parents would poke fun, calling me slow & lazy, so their music really helps me push through some hard, tough mileage when I start to think I can't do it.

I know that he suffered abuse as a child. That breaks my heart. It's nearly impossible to get past that. RIP Chester

I know that he suffered abuse as a child. That breaks my heart. It's nearly impossible to get past that. RIP Chester It's been said that he had depersonalization. I'm in a group about it and having been there myself, I completely understand how hard it can be to function in that state. One of the symptoms in a major case with this is feeling like you're not alive.

This post was how I heard. I broke down sobbing and hoped it wasn't true. DD and I saw Linkin Park together a couple years ago. I went to text her but found she'd already let me know. I am crushed and a bit surprised I'm taking it this hard. It's so very sad when the pain of living leaves one without the light to escape.

Devastated. Saw Linkin Park in concert in 2014 and 2015. Chester's music spoke to me many many times over the years. Depression does not discriminate against anyone.

This guy had the most incredible voice. Just amazing. I guess I am of the older rock generation, but I really admired him. So sad.

I couldn't believe this when I heard. Linkin Park is one of DH and I favorite bands. We saw them a couple of years ago at the Hollywood Bowl. They were amazing. His voice is so powerful and has so much feeling.

May his children and wife find a way to come to peace with his act and find comfort in the years and decades to come.

May his children and wife find a way to come to peace with his act and find comfort in the years and decades to come. I hope as a society, we can find a way through medical research and much more health care, to stop the cycle of abuse and resulting despair, from generation to generation.
