It's a mess! I bought some cute new bins and baskets to motivate me. And I'm going to purge, purge, purge! I'll post some after pics when I'm done... Here goes nothing... Attachments:

OK, that's what mine looks like AFTER I've tidied it (embarrassingly!)

Good luck! I've been working on that myself in recent weeks. Feels good to get rid of old stuff. For things you are hesitant to get rid of, turn the hangers backwards on the rod. Once you wear an item, hang the hanger in the normal front to back manner. Then set a period of time (6 mths or 1 year). If you haven't used the item at the end of your time frame, then get rid of it. Good tip, GypsyGirl - thanks! And good luck, Katy - as Gypsy said, it feels so good to get rid of stuff just taking up room in your closet!

I just did mine a week ago and got rid of a mountain. It's so nice to walk in there now! Good luck with your project. Keep going!

Since I live in NY, we have four very defined seasons. I store clothes at the end of each season for the next year. As I'm packing things away, I look at what has not been worn and get rid of the items that haven't been worn during the season. This way, I'm not storing items I didn't use and I'm not simply waiting until the next year to decide. Plus, it takes a lot less storage space.

Good luck - I'm going to start my craft room today. That project won't be done till the end of next weekend - but that's my goal!

Good luck! I am also in the midst of a purge of the crafting space. I have signed up for a consignment sale near the end of July and am hoping to make big bucks! But I will settle for some bucks.

Over here, we also have four defined seasons, we just never know which one we'll wake up to which makes it a nightmare! However, I really need to at least get into the two seasons (dreary or very dreary) and store clothes - I like the idea of doing that and getting rid of what hasn't been worn beforehand. That sounds like a plan! How do you store your clothes? Do you use those vacuum bags, move them to a different wardrobe, box them?
