What yarn did you get? I'm very tempted to give it a try. Scheepjes Stonewashed - same yarn used in the image you posted. I've loved working with it for the NAS so it was a no-brainer to me. I'm using Peridot for the widest section, Moonstone for the middle, and either Tourmaline, Smokey Quartz or Turquoise for the narrow end. Keep changing my mind about that, but currently leaning towards Tourmaline, I think the green and pink together will look really fresh and spring-like. What do you think? I love the pink!

Wow you finished that off quickly! It looks great.
Has anyone made the Hotel of Bees shawl? No, but I've seen it pop up in my FB groups several times and I always think how pretty it is.
I love those colours, but with it being all about bees I kind of feel like it should be done in all yellow & brown tones & that's why I haven't planned to make one because I don't wear yellow, but I really love the pattern. It's silly I know, because of course I can make it in any colour...if "bees" wasn't in the name, then I wouldn't have this colour conflict issue

Not really, because it's a "hotel" for bees, where they live not the bees themselves. I think their decorating colour schemes are always yellow/white/brown. I don't think they'd like turquoise honeycomb On a side not have you read the book The Bees by Laline Paull? It anthropomorphises bees and their lives and I thought it was completely fascinating.

Wow you finished that off quickly! It looks great. Thank you. I really surprised myself with how fast I finished it, I did have a really lazy weekend where I pretty much sat and crocheted the whole time though!

Uh, I think their decorating schemes would be inspired by their favourite flowers. So maybe not turquoise but I bet they'd use some lovely pinks, purples and greens as well as yellows and browns Yeah, I've read it, like you I thought it was fascinating. Great book.

I'm not much of a crafter but I had this crazy idea that I would try to make all of my Xmas gifts. I'm on vacation at Hilton Head, SC. I went into a Dollar General picked up some stuff and worked on it last night. This is what I came up with. Not sure how to post a picture so hope this works.

This is pretty much much what I achieved on my long car journey. It's 245 stitches wide and just single and double crochet so it doesn't need much thought. The sides are fringed hence the long tails. Each row is worked individually from right to left. Ive ordered some red, orange, yellow and green yarn with a view to doing like adult rainbow colours to jazz it up a bit. MadamG2U I can't open your link, sorry.

All I have managed to do this past week is cut fabric - lots & lots of fabric! On Friday I will be sewing pillowcases at my local quilt shop for the 1 Million Pillowcase project. I have 14 pillowcases (body & border) cut and ready to sew. In addition, there are another 11 fabrics cut that need either a coordinating body or border. I plan to pick those fabrics up on Friday. People who couldn't attend were donating fabrics so I am hoping I can find fabrics that coordinate with mine.
I've also been working on more of the kennel quilts for the pet shelters. So far I have 24 ready to sew up once I cut the batting to size. Was able to use a 60% off coupon at JoAnn Fabrics for the batting! This has been a stash busting exercise, so I have quite a few scraps cut to size that just need piecing. I'll probably end up with another 6 or 7 quilts from that stack.
Next week I'll take a break from the kennel quilts and pillowcases to work on a couple of quilts that will be gifts. One is a baby quilt for a soon to arrive great-niece. The other is a wedding gift for my cousin's daughter. That wedding is Oct. 22 so I need to put it in high gear! Hope to have photos of everything soon!

I'm making a scrappy blanket to use up the rest of the Stylecraft yarn, it's just simple rows of double and treble crochet after the circle in a square squares. It looks a bit wibbly because it was on my lap when I took the photos. Attachments:

It`s been very quiet around here lately. What`s everyone up to then? Here are a couple of pics of stock for my soon to be finished 1/12th scale Market stall. When it is all done I might post pics on the main board as I would like to see other Miniaturists work.. So in the pics are hats, bags, purses, scarves, shawls, hat pins, bracelets, gloves, make up bags, carrier bags and display boxes, floor mat. Think that`s it. ps. Sorry I couldn`t get the pics onscreen. Attachments:

I've been finishing up my Lilypond throw. I seriously underestimated how long it was going to take. At first I didn't sew in the ends on purpose in case I needed to redo any of the squares, but I did on the last 2 sets. I've estimated there's been over 1000 ends to sew in, plus I have to add boarders onto the 24 sides and then sew up 90 sides and then I still have the final border to do! Plus it's been winter here so it wasn't very good weather to block the pieces. Once I finished the actually crocheting all the pieces, I thought it would only take me about one week to finish it off - wrong! It's been 3 weeks and I'm still going. Will post photos when it's actually finished. I'm not letting myself start anything new until this piece is done.

I'm making this Dwell chunky sweater JoP shared the pattern with me The yarn I bought to make it was unfortunately far too chunky so I'm using a green/blue varigated yarn instead. I'm finding using a big hook difficult, my fingers are cramping and it's slow going. I'm still working on my scrappy blanket as well, it's almost ready for a border.Save
