My crocheting attention span is very limited these days. Last night I finally sat down to watch Call The Midwife and did some Victorian lattice squares for my blanket which I’ve decided I’m making for my queen size bed.

Love that pattern lainey. I've seen a few like that and thought I'd maybe make one at some point. Looking forward to seeing how yours turns out. I've been plodding on with my apache tears blanket. It's very easy .

Ok so my bestie who is an ultimate crocheter looked at the video of the blanket I was making and she got really mad at the person making the video for a lot of reasons. She found me some more videos to watch and then hook. I liked the shell design, but she said it was too difficult. I was getting frustrated so she was right about that. I will try again on the weekend. I went to the video of the shell afghan blanket that you mentioned a month or so ago and I made the blanket. It took me about 4 weeks. I haven't crocheted since I was about 10 years old. It wasn't too difficult. I had to stop the video and go back and repeat sections a few times. I also had to rip apart my stitches a few times because I made mistakes, but I completed the project and it turned out fabulous. Follow along, you can do this!!! Now, I did know how to do single crochet and double crochet. I remembered from years ago. Maybe you can watch a video on the basic stitches before you try this project. I also did one of Melanie Ham's beginner beanies last night and it turned out great. It took less than 2 hours. Great starter project.

Not really, because it's a "hotel" for bees, where they live not the bees themselves. I think their decorating colour schemes are always yellow/white/brown. I don't think they'd like turquoise honeycomb On a side not have you read the book The Bees by Laline Paull? It anthropomorphises bees and their lives and I thought it was completely fascinating. It's a hotel not their home. Hotels are sometimes decorated way different that homes, although sometimes not it a good way. Go crazy and imagine what bees would want if they could get away from their homes built from bodily fluids. LOL

So many pretty projects in progress or completed! My Stitch & Bitch group has taken it on the road to the Rockies this week. I brought along 2 UFOs and a couple of small projects just in case I finish the others. Unlikely, but you never know! The first project up is the oldest UFO in my stash, a needlepoint that will become a wool tidy. The pincushion and needlecase are already finished. I purchased this Royal School of Needlework kit in London in 1987. It’s been moved all over the world, worked on, put away for long periods of time during moves, etc. I have decided that come hell or high water this project WILL be completed this week. Next week all 3 pieces will go off to the finishers. Here is the point I am at this morning:

I have decided that come hell or high water this project WILL be completed this week You're on the home stretch, you have to finish it now just for the bragging rights! When people admire it you can say, "that took me 30 years" It's worth finishing just to be able to say that. It's lovely.

I'm behind on everything I want to do.
I screwed up a pair of mittens. I put them away for a bit, claiming it's too hot to fix it right now. That will change soon.
I'm working my way through a stack of can cozies, lip balm holders, and key fobs for my craft shows.
I've made two new project bags and will see how those sell.
I've done a couple of small cross stitch projects and am working on one now. When I finish it, I'll fix the stupid mittens.
In between all this, I'm still dealing with band uniforms. A drummer ripped the crotch of his pants. The color guard's new costumes are splitting at the seams, right under the zipper. Several snaps on the new jackets have come off. I have three pants, two color guard, and a jacket to fix or alter by Thursday. I can get them done in one day, but this is getting tiresome. My first craft show is in a month. I need to get more stuff knitted!

I've finished my Dwell cardigan and I'm wearing it right now, it's so cosy I'm still debating about the pockets, it's really bulky and I think that adding pockets might make it too heavy. Save

Oh lainey that Dwell cardigan is lovely - I'm not sure I'd put pockets on either. Oh heck - that's a shame about your hexagons 😠

Very nice lainey and a lovely colour too. I would have to put pockets on as I'm a hands in pockets kinda gal but I would do almost triangle ones rather than square. So what did you receive if not hexagons?

Hmm I may have to look into that Dwell pattern. I've got some lightweight tape-style yarn that's considered a bulky weight and haven't found anything to do with it yet. Yay!
I started and finished a shawl for my Mom for Christmas, and am now looking for something to make for my MIL. Going to a big (like 50 people yeeps!!) crochet weekend getaway tomorrow and am super excited.
Still have WIPS - 2 baby gifts, a circular vest and scarf/hat set for Special Olympics.

That IS a hexagon because it has 6 sides but it's irregular because not all the angles and lengths are the same. Is it worth seeing if they will swop them for you? You can bodge up your own using those by folding one end in and cutting off the surplus. Or use those to make a different design?

I've been in touch with the seller and they quite generously offered to refund me 1 English pound I guess that's the risk of ordering from China! I'll keep them and see if I can use them, the biggest problem is they are seriously small. Save

Oh my, you all are so talented. I wish I could learn to do any of these crafts. I broke the cat litter scoop and made a throw away one out of newspaper...that's all I got.

I whipped up a few beanies this week too. I hated hats until my mid 40s now I wear them all winter. I can't stand the cold on my head anymore LOL. The light blue one is a slightly slouchie beanie. I want to make a pair of slippers before I move on to an afghan for my son in October. Attachments:
