I am currently babysitting for my friend and her husband. Their son is sleeping. It's so weird being in their house without them. I overdid the exercise yesterday. I walked before work, with my students at work, and then did an hour yoga class in the evening. I was tired today! Nothing crafty in my world lately. Fortunately grammadee and I are going to a card class Saturday. I'm off to raid their fridge.

grammadee, I LOVE your face paint page. Looks like you're getting a lot of crafty time again, so hurray for that. I hate it when my appliances act up, glad it's just a water line. I always feel I can do without ice and water in the refrigerator as long as it's functioning otherwise. Is your blind scraplift for here or another site? We totally have fall in the air here as well. We picked some of the tomatoes, including green and started harvesting everything we could last weekend from the garden. Today through this weekend, I'll be putting up tomato sauce and green salsa. We had to dig up our potatoes as well, so how do you store them? nylene, I hope your finger is better and that your computer gets fixed soon. I am sorry about the school position. If you don't enjoy doing it, my vote is not to. You can find other opportunities to volunteer that you would enjoy. Have fun at your reunion. scrapincin, how are you doing? justjac, it's good to see you around this month even with no crafty things going on. Good for you with all of your exercise. I'm trying to gear up to just walk on the treadmill again. I was going to start on the 1st of the month....hohum....it's now the 13th... Preserving and school is taking over my life right now and the other moments I just don't have it in me. Have fun at your card class. I finally made some time to clean off my craft desk, which has been buried under piles of crafty stuff that was being organized, paperwork for school, from the mayo, my Bible study things, and other things that get placed there when no one knows what to do with something. I don't know if that is going to get me any closer to actually creating a traditional page. We shall see. Did I already tell you? We started getting eggs!!! It's very exciting. They started laying the weekend we returned from the Mayo. This morning, there were 3 and 1 didn't have the hard shell around it. We've heard this can happen, especially as they start laying, but it's a bit weird and kind of cool at the same time. OK, I need to make my way into the kitchen. I've been postponing the start of the tomato preserving frenzy that will now take over the kitchen, but can postpone no longer. I feel like I should have a super-hero cape or something for these preserving endeavors. I'm sure it's all easy peasy for grammadee who's been doing it for years, but for a newbie, the thought of it is many times more daunting the the task itself. I feel the same way about rolling pasta out. It's really easy once you do it, but it takes me FOR.EV.ER. to finally get around to doing it. I'll be doing that this week as well. DS wants my homemade canneloni and chocolate cheesecake for his meal of choice for his birthday which he celebrated in Minnesota. But he still gets his home meal, probably this Saturday night. OK, grabbing my cape or apron and getting off.

Would love to see you in that cape, LisaDV! Believe me, I still approach a lot of preserving chores with trepidation. I used to do a lot of it from memory, but now I have all the recipes written down and I need to continually recheck them through the process. And still sometimes jars don't seal properly; jelly doesn't gel. Because I dread the job so much, I tend to do huge batches, and try to do most of the work at the beginning, so later I can just "pull something out of the freezer". With tomatoes, I like to get a lot of them into lasagna before they get into the freezer. Thankfully, they don't ripen all at once, so I usually get enough at a time for a large pan or two--something I can handle in a day. And some processes I have definitely spread into two days: cook the sauce the day before and then assemble and bake the lasagna Day 2. Home made cannenoli? Fageddaboudit! To keep the longest, potatoes need to be in a DARK, COOL, DRY place. Onions like the same environment. We have a designated cold room off our basement. Not as effective as the old root cellar under our homes growing up, but it will do. They keep quite firm and nice until January or February, and after that they start to send shoots and get a little soft, but they are still fine for eating. If your garage doesn't freeze, you can keep them in a closed container in there. Or you can put them in the corner of a cool basement if you insulate them well with something. A fridge tends to be too damp for them, in my experience. Don't play yourself out the rest of the week, justjac! We need to get our card making skills revved up for Saturday! Waving hello to scrapincin, kellyr21, maribeth, msliz, @elaynef, and the rest of the Pokeys and friends! Off to browse the rest of the boards, and then I need to wipe down my green tomatoes and layer them in boxes in the cold room. Later I need to tackle lazy cabbage rolls...

Just a quick note. I made the decision and went in to resign my volunteer position this morning. My advisor begged me not to take another position somewhere else for a couple of weeks. They have only run the new program for a day and a half, and already they have teachers pulling out saying it's too distracting in their classes. (which is what I said would happen when it came up last year) She thinks it will change back to something similar to what I was doing before and wants me available if possible. So I will wait a while and if it doesn't change I'll check with other local schools. I'm so relieved to have made the decision!
Waving to each of you. I may not get back on until after the weekend. Have a good one!

Happy Wednesday y'all! Not much going on here today but it is still early. I did get my Christmas pp kit from Scrapbook do com. It looks good just maybe a tad darker than I hoped. So now I can shop for the rest of my supplies and make some plans for my upcoming cards. I got an order already for ten Christmas cards so I gotta get to planning and shopping. Ladies, I am so far behind on the gallery so justjac you are not alone. I will be getting over there today to see all your great pages. nylene- Sounds like the best decision. I hope you find the best fit for your time and skill. I know they will miss having you. scrapincin- I hope you are enjoying football. We are and now if our Dodgers baseball team can get it together that will be good. LisaDV- Your chickens must of been so glad for you all to be back home they gave you some eggs as a welcome home present. LOL!

Hello everyone! Hope all is well with all of you! Sorry I have not made it here sooner but trying to get a few things done. First of all I have to tell you grammadee that I will have to leave comments on your last 2 layouts tomorrow as it kept telling me there was an error. I loved all of them You are doing great with the paint! I also never knew you could ripen green tomatoes like that. Also I never heard of corn chowder in the oven. I had to google the chowder part and read a few recipes. I am just learning so much from you ladies! nylene So glad to hear you had a great time at your reunion and now getting to go to another. Sorry to hear about your volunteering job at the school. It is so evident that you are trained and got pleasure helping these children to learn reading. I can not fathom what might be more important then that. How is you finger doing-I assume better or you would not be planning on going to the reunion. LisaDV -thanks for asking me how I was doing. I think this rehab is helping not sure if it is helping my breathing but you feel better after doing that workout. So excited to hear your hens are laying! How fun is that. I bet your DD is enjoying them also. kellyr21 I actually did not get to watch our first Browns game but did listen to it on the radio. I think our new QB is going to be able to do the job. He is a hard worker and we were only down by 3. But today our Cleveland Indians won their 21st game in a row and are number in the Central division. They are having so much fun playing the game that I do not know anyone that could beat them. They tied with the National league Chicago Cubs from consecutive games from 2002. I am going to close for now. Waving hi to everyone!

Hello to everyone from me, too. I love hearing about your projects and goings on! Our lives are all so different but we all are addicted to the same hobby. I am having trouble remembering what I posted and what thread I posted under, but I guess everyone reads most of the General scrapbooking threads like me so maybe this won't be too random. I got my old 1993 pics from Big Bend National Park printed and have started working on them. Dh helped me scan them and renew their color a little. We have been there several times, starting when we were newlyweds, and dh likes to recommend it to his friends because most people, even Texans, have never heard of it and it is really an amazing place. He is always asking me, where is that pic I took..... and I could never find it, so I took all our pics from there (4 different trips) and I'm putting them in a 12x12 album of their very own and redoing some of the faded old pics that I scrapped in a style I don't like any more. Our 1st trip, we had a polaroid an only took 10 pics! Did you notice I'm still working on my clusters? I think they are getting a little easier. Here is one I did today and one I did with the Lazy Scrapbooker paper that we talked about last week. I also used that pad for some 6x6 layouts in a album where I keep pics of just me and dh, usually on a trip or an anniversary. And I wanted to show you my latest "scrapbook page on a Table". I took some old pics out of an album to make a page for the wall and a couple pics on the table. You might notice I used that sketch on Big Bend, too. When I find a sketch that I like, I tend to get stuck on it. I'm still stuck on that August sketch challenge that has the huge 4x12 in the middle of 4 rows of tiny pics and have done some layouts in the grandchildren's album with it. It's great for all the little pics that grandma's love to snap of every little wonderful thing those kids do.

Your fall table is GORGEOUS, @elaynef ! And your pages look great. Love all the clusters and banners. nylene , I think you made the right decision. And you still have your options open if they decide to make some changes. Have fun at your reunion. How did your salsa tourn out, LisaDV ? I ended up making lazy cabbage rolls yesterday. Still have way too much cabbage to do something with. That's really Wierd about your rogue Flickr comment, scrapincin . Can you go back now and delete it? I tried, but although I could click on the little garbage can, I was not given full access to delete the comment. Guess there are worse things to be hacked than your Flickr account, but still... Glad you are feeling a little more fit after your therapy sessions. Hoping your breathing will improve with time as well. Sounds like Christmas is coming early to your house, kellyr21 . Good sign that you already have orders for your cards. I am looking forward to our card class on Saturday. I will TRY not to buy out the LSS of christmas pp. I have tons here at home, but I really love all things Christmas! This morning the temp was just above freezing. We picked off the last of the beans and I dug some carrots. I am really ready for this garden to just be DONE. Craft wise, I finished the 2 pager I started yesterday. Not quite what I had in mind when I started out, but I'm pretty happy with the results. bubblicious by Gramma Dee, on Flickr bubblicious 2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

grammadee, I actually have the superhero emblem drawn out on my apron, I just haven't gotten around to painting it. Sadly, I don't have the cape. Thanks for the potato storage info. I'm going to have Don clean them and get them ready to store. WOW, Love the bubble pages!!! The background is fantastic! Is this the background that you "messed" up? If it is, there is no mess ups, it's perfect for these pages! I love the circles on the photos too, like the bubble wand. I'll leave love later today on the pages. nylene, I'm so glad you resigned. I do hope they change back as it sounds like it's not working at all the way they want. But I really disliked the idea of you doing something you didn't like as a volunteer. kellyr21, I hope your staying cool with the heat in CA this past week. That is wonderful that you already have card orders. Do you enjoy the shopping process? I usually only enjoy it if I'm not really looking for something. If I'm looking to coordinate, it's like going down the rabbit hole. scrapincin, yay! I'm so glad the workouts seem to be helping and that you feel better after them. @elaynef, I love each of your pages and your table decor and layout are perfect. I think you've got the clusters down now, as you're doing such a great job with them. I have 2 easels on 2 different tables, but now I want to dig out my 12x12 frames and put them up behind the console table to make coordinated seasonal decor. On Wednesday, I put up 6 quarts of diced tomatoes, and have the green tomatoes all prepped for salsa. Yesterday, I had to take dd to her well child dr. appointment, so nothing got done in the kitchen. Today, I'll put up the salsa and I have to make the cheesecake and cannelloni. Although Don thought he was helping yesterday while I was at town and picked more tomatoes for me. If it wasn't for wanting to get the table cleaned off for ds's birthday dinner tomorrow night, it would have been helpful. Hopefully I can find a place for them until Sunday. For me, my days will consist of tomatoes and garden harvesting for the next week. Yesterday, dd & I did go pick out fabric for our sewing class in October. The pattern is lounge pants. So I decided to make ds's Christmas pj's I'll make the bottoms and find a long-sleeve T for the shirt. Maybe I'll even put a decal or something on the shirt, but I'm not going to commit to anything like that yet. OK, I'm off to start my day. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Sounds like you have had a productive week, LisaDV. I'll bet your dd is looking forward to the sewing class with you. Will she be sewing her own lounge pants? Picking out material together sounds like fun. Carrots are on my agenda today. Dug a bucket of them yesterday. Cleaned a bunch for storing in the fridge, and am in the process of getting the "culls" ready to put through the food processor and eventually transmorgrify into carrot cake. Before I started on the carrots, I put together a couple of quick pages. In my sorting/reorganizing this past week I came upon a dragonfly piece I had done for a Make-n-Take a year or two ago. And I remembered that my dil had sent me a pic of our 3 1/2 year old dgs with a dragonfly in his hand. So this morning I was able to unite the two on a page. Lisadv and granmmadee so jealous of your gardens and too much produce. It is too hot for gardens here and there is no water. We finally got a desertscape for our yard because the grass won't grow without water! I have a friend who has a beautiful yard that she tends daily and she knows all the right plants to get that don't require much water. She goes to a garden club and they share plants and ideas for our environment.

Thanks, @elaynef. I really do appreciate my garden--MOST of the time! Just means that there are days during the year that the garden or the weather makes the decision for us as to what our activities will be. Hoping all the Pokeys are having a wonderful Sunday. I spent the morning putting finishing touches on cards from yesterday. justjac and I participated in a LSS Christmas card class where we put together 9 cards from a manufacturer's kit (Photo Play Mad for Plaid). We had a bunch of extra pieces from the kit left over, so at the end of the class I cut them all apart and used some of the cs she provided to put together 13 card fronts just gluing pieces together. This morning I attached those card fronts to ready made card bases, and glitzed up the fronts of some of the my cards with glitter and glue. I then used yet more of the extra pieces to finish the insides of almost all of the cards (including those we made in class). Still have some bits and pieces left over--prob enough to add sentiments and a bit of accent to at least another half dozen cards--but I am done for the day. I added all 22 cards to my yearly total in my profile. Guess I owe myself 4 card insides...

Happy Monday! I took this morning to scrap some of the many gorgeous photos my dil posted about their month at the lake at her mom's cabin in August. Got two double pagers finished, and am working on a third, but ran out of steam. Here are the two I did. Not sure why they are a little blurry here. Happy Monday! I hope you are all having a nice day. I went to M's to get a few more supplies and was surprised to see the shortage of red satin ribbon. The last few years this happened and I forgot about it. But I was reminded that folks start buying up things this early. So maybe this week they will have gotten more. Also, looking for more embellishments ideas. I usually go with ribbon or flowers but I would like to add another option. I made flowers last year and that was fun so maybe I will do that. Lisadv- I usually like shopping for craft supplies but sometimes it gets frustrating when I can't find what I need. That is so fun you and your dd are taking the sewing class. Making pj pants sounds like a nice start. Grammadee- Oh that class you and justjac took sounds like fun. Waving hi to you all and have a nice evening!

Hi Everybody! Hope all is well with all of you. I had a strange weekend. Went fishing out at the club! It was a beautiful day but I ended up with sunburn and the fish beat me-Fish 10, Cindy 2! LOL Actually I also started a page but it is taking me forever and a day to get it done. Its a digi layout too! kellyr21-yes the Christmas supplies go fast as a lot of people start early, Do you pay attention to baseball? I have been watching the Indians again and saw everyone of the 22 in a row they won. Now we have clenched the central division Championship so locked in home field advantage. So far the Browns have not done too well either. But lets hope the improve as the games go by. grammadee I left you some love in the gallery! Such cute pages ! The one with sand just blows me away!It looks so real! msliz -missing your posts over here..you must be busy. Is your DD back at school? I may have written it but don't always remember. LisaDV you are a busy bee too. You seem to stay busy and I think you are going to run out of time in the day. It's so nice of you to share the art work your friends leave at your home Ok I am fighting sleep this evening so am getting off of here! Here's a big WAVE to nylene. Miss you but know you are having fun!

Hi Pokeys, sorry I've been absent. It seems like I've only been able to Pea for a minute at a time over the last couple of weeks. DD14 has been having a rough time getting her homework done on time, so I'm up late with her every night and napping anytime I get a chance. I did get to do some scrapping though. I went to a day crop a little over a week ago on Saturday and I had a great time. I met some really nice ladies including the Pea that told me about the crop, and I signed up for another one in November. Can't wait! And I finally bought some Gelatos, though I haven't had a chance to try them out. My birthday is in late November, so I decided they'll be a birthday gift to myself. All my yardwork and winterizing will be done by then, so I'll have a little time to play. Other than that, I've just been pulling weeds in the gardens, gathering whatever I can for the donation pile, and making a lot of soup for some reason. scrapincin , How's the sunburn today? I've only been fishing once in my life, and only caught one fish, but that's enough for me, thank you. Glad you got some pictures to scrap! And, you asked about DD? I'll be going to pick her up tomorrow to bring her home for Rosh Hashana. She's only been gone for a few weeks, but I can't wait to see her! kellyr21 , I can't wait to see your Christmas cards. If you're taking requests, I'd love to see what you would do with snowflakes! grammadee , love all your layouts, especially the Happy Place pages with the sand you made and the wood planks PP. They're the perfect complements to the photos and the story. I'm glad you and justjac had such a great weekend! LisaDV , the sewing class sounds like a great idea! Years ago, DD and I picked up a pattern for pajama pants with the intention of learning how to sew, but we never did anything with it. It's sitting somewhere in a box of good intentions. I like the idea of taking a class, and it's a fun girls night out too! @elaynef , your table looks beautiful, but I really wanted to comment on your Lovely Day page - It came out really nice! The colors are great, and I love the paper airplane. Nice touch! Waving hi to nylene and maribeth !

I've been so scarce this month you probably don't remember me! LOL. I apologize, I haven't read all the chat and I can see lots of layouts I want to study, but I just have a minute. I'll try to sit down and actually be a hostess tomorrow!
We returned from our trip where the Class Reunion was so much fun. It was good to see old friends. When you are from a little town you know everyone and everyone's siblings and we got hours of visiting in. On the way home I hit something on the freeway. It looked like a fist sized rock. Immediately the car began making awful noises and I couldn't control. Luckily I was in the HOV lane and could pull off to the left. Steve checked and said the tire was totally flat. We called for roadside assistance and in the meantime a UHP trooper came by and offered to help change the tire. They got the tiny temporary tire on and it was almost flat. The trooper gave us instructions on how to get to a service station with air. I limped off the freeway at 40 mph and we made it to the service station. Steve worked for about 20 minutes and it didn't seem to be filling. A young woman pulled up waiting for air and while he helped fill her tires I mentioned it was too bad there wasn't a tire store close. She instantly pulled out her phone and found the only tire shop in the valley that is open on Sunday and it was 11 blocks away. We limped there and they filled the tire with air and we drove the last 40 miles home. We took the car in early Mon morning and they have found extensive damage underneath too. The tire sidewall had a fist-sized hole. So we are without a car for a few days, but we made it safely home. I think of all the little miracles that occurred for us to get help and get home. I call those tender mercies. We were blessed.
I am trying to get ready for a meeting tonight so can't stay now, but will be back to chat tomorrow! Hugs to all.

Misliz, thank you for the lovely compliments. The lovely day page is from Lazy Scrapbooker pad... I've been using the heck out of it. Its totally done, just add picture! I'm amazed that I'm using it on the majority of my Big Ben album. I would have never believed it would work. Nylene , what a story! So glad you made it home safely and hope your car gets repaired quickly and doesn't cost a bundle. Lisadv, so excited about the sewing lessons. That was my hobby before scrapbooking. I was looking at patterns in Joann's when I overheard somone talking about scrapbooking and thought to myself, " that's what I want to do". I'd never heard the word before. I'm still working on big Ben album and a project for bible study...8 spy glasses made from toilet paper rolls! I also got more pics ordered and got a new backup drive installed for my pictures. Less time scrapping because I got a blue apron box this week ...those things are very time consuming compared to my normal cooking, but challenging and delicious. Just got a text from dd. She and dgd went shopping for a wedding dress and bought one in less than a hour!

@elaynef, your dgd looks gorgeous in that dress, and she obviously loves it and will feel extra beautiful on her wedding day. nylene, I am glad you got home safe and sound! Thank heaven for those "tender mercies", but that must have been a very long and very tiring day! Good to hear from you msliz. What a wonderful adventure it must have been to meet up with a Pea at a crop! Glad you are planning to attend another one. Too bad you didn't catch much more than a sunburn, scrapincin. But it sounds like a beautiful day. I don't really enjoy actual fishing, but I do like to sit in a boat on still water and breathe in the fresh air. And I like to eat fresh fish, even if I am not a fan of getting them ready for the pan! Hope you can find your card making supplies, kellyr21, or find a design you can use with the supplies you have. This morning it was very dark and dreary and raining. The plan was to clear off some of what remains on the garden, but I didn't end up going outside at all. So... I scrapbooked! I finished two pages I had started yesterday, and then went on to start and finish two more. Used some mixed media: some mists and paints and a stencil with embossing paste on the last set of pages, so I am happy about that. Too dark to get decent shots of my pages though. Will try to post them tomorrow. I spent the afternoon proofreading a paper dd plans to submit tonight as part of her Masters' program. I have read it so many times already I am not sure I am the right person for the job anymore: not sure if I am reading what is actually there or what I think is there. Tonight we are meeting a friend for supper in town. Have a great evening, Ladies!

Wow nylene what a trip! I am so glad it was the return trip so at least you can remember the reunion as being fun! Soglad you had a great weekend! msliz so glAD you will be spending time with your daughter and that she will be home so you can enjoy her. Elayne-that bridal dress is gorgeous. She looks beautiful! I forgot to tell you that your table scape is beautiful also! grammadee looking forward to seeing your new pages! The place we go is a private small lake that the group has stocked in the m spring before the fishing derby for the kids. That way the kids catch the fish, then the guys clean it and cook and the kids get to eat the fish they caught Others were catching lots of fish but not me just fed a bunch. I have only been fishing for 2-3 years. My sunburn is feeling better just was sore the first night. I have a layout in the works I just can not get it to look the way I want it too! So getting off for now and will be back tomorrow.

Hope you get that pesky LO finished, scrapincin. Glad your sunburn is feeling better. I finished another couple of pages this morning. I have to check, but I think I can declare my Summer 2017 album complete!!! I still have some photos, but I think I have all the distinct stories told and the album will be ready to take to Calgary at the end of next week. I uploaded six pages to the Gallery this morning, but rather than fill up half a page here, I will link only these two birthday pages. I was not at this bd party, but my ddil posted these photos. He is such a little rascal, and I am glad she caught that on "film". 2! page 1 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr 2! by Gramma Dee, on Flickr After I finish this cup of coffee I am heading off to the garden to dig some more carrots. I think these will become soup...

I am doing it digi and all of my products are on my ehd. The ehd is causing me problems. So bought a new one and will try to find time today to transfer those onto the new one. Sometimes it will let me open a folder and move the image but then it tells I have no access. GRRRRRRRR

Hi all. I have a lot to catch up on. I had some computer difficulties over the weekend and the week gets busy. nylene, I love that you call it "tender mercies". You definitely have a very positive outlook. I'm glad you had a good time at the reunion and sorry it didn't end perfectly, but glad you're safe. scrapincin, I hate getting sunburned, which with my fair skin happens rather quickly. Glad your sunburn is feeling better. Those fish need to eat too and it just lets the kids catch bigger ones later. You were doing the kids a favor! (That's the spin you need to tell everyone!) I hope you share your digi layout. @elaynef, your dgd looks gorgeous! When's the wedding? Also, please share those spy glasses when they're finished! We're pretty excited about the sewing class too. She's been wanting to do it for about a year. It just hasn't work out with our schedule and theirs. Then I saw the create a class sign and the lightbulb went off. She's chosen 2 fabrics. I thought we'd make one in class and then have her make the second here at home to reinforce what she's learned. Oh, and I almost bought a blue apron box with a coupon thing but let it expire. grammadee, I will try to make it to the gallery to leave love soon. I knew I was missing a few pages, but I see you have actually been much more prolific. They're wonderful. I hope the garden is getting preserved and cleaned up. I haven't touched anything since the weekend, and need to get back to it today. I looked up the lazy cabbage roll recipes which were all for the cabbage rolls with red sauce and I do a brown. I'm thinking of just freezing the meatball combination and making the brown sauce at the time of cooking. It's definitely quicker than making cabbage rolls, so thanks for the idea. A tip that might work for you, it does for me. When I've proofread something a zillion times, I try to carefully read it out-loud. I pick things up better that way if I've already seen the document many times. kellyr21, I'll second msliz's suggestion of snowflakes for your card options. I hope your ribbon is back in stock too. msliz, I'm so glad you made it to the crop. This is the one that was canceled before and rescheduled, right? You'll love your gelatos! It's a great gift for yourself. Sounds like you are productive in the yard, good for you! I finally started a traditional layout this week. It's a minute here, 5 minutes there. So very slow going. Our 17 yo cat has decided not to use the litter box anymore. She went on the outside chair cover that was on the floor inside the door so it didn't blow away, some laundry from everyone's shower as I hadn't put a basket back into the bathroom yet (they were full of clean to be folded laundry at the time) and now her favorite spot is a corner of the dining room. We bought those puppy training pads to put down there. So my laundry this week is getting washed twice - once with vinegar and then once regular. So far it has worked like a charm to get the smell out. I need to make a vet appointment. Otherwise everything here is the same. School and cleaning took the majority of this week, so I'm hoping more garden preserving will happen today and tomorrow. Saturday/Sunday is reserved for outside work. Since they just dropped off a bear at the forest preserve next to our place, we think the bee fencing needs to go up this weekend for sure. Off to do some more of the same around here.

I was feeling a little blah this morning b/c the shaker card I was attempting to create did not turn out the way I had thought it would. Not sure shaker cards are in my wheel house! I ordered supplies especially to make them and the parcel arrived yesterday. This morning I had planned to create a couple of birthday cards I need for next week, but the new stuff was calling me, so I thought I would just make a quick prototype Christmas card. The video I watched before I ordered the supplies made it look really easy. Not so easy for me, and I don't really love the results, and now any urge to create today has drained away. Guess the bd cards will have to wait! But then I read your posts, scrapincin and LisaDV, and realized my problems are not that big! Ewwww! Not a fan of cat pee. And on the clean laundry? At least when our old cat was still around, he chose a spot down on the cement floor in the furnace room as his impromptu litter box. And computer issues are not the way I want to start--or finish--my day! We need to get our potatoes out of the ground and everything else cleared out of the garden by next Thursday when we leave for Calgary. Weather is really cool and wet here this week, but supposed to be nice Monday/Tuesday. October will be a busy month. 1st weekend we are away. Then Thanksgiving here with dh's sister's family, then I will be traveling with justjac to an adult ed conference. 4th weekend we are at a three day crop. The last weekend of the month I am off on a trip to Abbotsford BC for a weekend with ds's family there and then flying to Ontario to be with dd & family over Halloween. Booked my flights yesterday. Okay, off to deal with the carrots we dug yesterday...

Good morning, Ladies! Today is a house cleaning day for me. I really need to get some of the clutter out of the kitchen that has been collecting while I do my veggie prep (and sneak in here to scrapbook). This weekend I plan to make a couple of huge pans of lasagne from our garden tomatoes, and if I am going to invite people over to eat it, they should probably have a neat clean house to come in to... Before I get to that, I was able to complete the two bd cards I wanted to do yesterday but had no ideas for. This morning I started with a pad of cs I picked up at M's last time I was there. I like it b/c the patterns are pretty generic, it has foiling on some of the pages, and it is one sided, so then it can really be CARD stock (used directly as a card base). And the whole pad is coordinated, so I was able to use scraps from each card base on the other card. Just mixed and matched a bunch of small stickers and elements to finish them. your day by Gramma Dee, on Flickr eat cake by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Have a fantastic Friday!

@elaynef, I love your pages, especially the one of the two of you together with the big LOVE. You do great work. I love your use of embellishments. You Fall scene is really pretty. I should go down and get my fall things out, but today it is winter! We have snow on the mountains near us. That wedding dress is so pretty. Is it your granddaughter being married? She looks beautiful. BTW, I want to know more about the spyglasses you are making. msliz, I didn't take photos of our freeway adventure because I was told by the Highway Patrolman not to get out of the car. DH was on the traffic side, but he let him get out. Didn't think they'd appreciate being asked to take photos while trying to change the tire. LOL I did take a photo of the 4 brand new tires! It was getting time to replace them anyway. scrapincin, I am sorry about your sunburn. I'm glad it is feeling better. Your fishing derby sounds like fun. I did a lot of fishing when I was a kid, but mostly my job was to keep my sister out of the creek! How are the exercises going? Are you feeling better with those and the O2. Thinking of you often and you are in my prayers. I need to email you so questions about the new software for Silhouette. I am doing ok, but missing some things. grammadee, you have really been scrapping, and picking and cooking and putting up garden produce. I only grew tomatoes, but we have enjoyed them. They will freeze tonight so I need to get the last ones picked. Loving your layouts. I don't know how you have time to do such great pages! They are all so original and fun. I had to chuckle about shaker cards not being in your wheelhouse...there are a lot of things not in my wheelhouse. I love your cards. That's a cool paper pad. LisaDV, your sewing class with DD sounds like fun. I always loved sewing with my daughters and granddaughters. I wish they had more time to continue it. I'm sure you will have a great time. How are you enjoying having fresh eggs? Are your chickens still doing well? How is your DD doing since returning from the Mayo. Have you made changes in a lot of things? kellyr21, I would love to see what you are doing with your pretty Christmas papers. I'm excited that you have orders already. I guess I should start thinking about Christmas cards. We aren't going to Wendover this year where I usually do cards while DH is in meetings, so I need to get busy. justjac, I am sure you have lots of great things in the gallery, but I still haven't made it over there. I'll do that later today. I'm glad you had fun with grammadee. It would be fun if all of us could get together and spend a couple of days scrapping. We can dream... maribeth, we are missing you. Hope you are busy doing things you enjoy. Drop by if you get a minute. I have been working on some "twist pop" cards. I learned to make them at card club and they are so much fun. I will post photos. I made a Fall one but sent it to my grands before I took photos. I still have a birthday and some Halloween ones here. I have a few more things to add to a layout I will post too. Have a great weekend, Pokeys.

I should go down and get my fall things out, but today it is winter! We have snow on the mountains near us. That wedding dress is so pretty. Is it your granddaughter being married? She looks beautiful. BTW, I want to know more about the spyglasses you are making. 8 spyglasses. The older kids will be making these, but they wanted some for the toddlers to take home, too, so they wouldn't be wanting big sister/brother's. It seems I may be the all things crafty lady for bible study in the future. dgd is getting married in May on the beach in Florida. It's a destination wedding! I was surprised that she chose a formal dress for a beach wedding. I need to ask what I should wear. I was thinking just a nice pants and top, but maybe need a dress. That page with the big LOVE is from the lazy scrapbooker pad. I am still using it on everything! Most of them I have modified a lot to fit another size page or another size picture. That one is a 6x6 page. I think I've actually learned some, especially about clusters from using them. Enjoying everyone's pages and reports and I love hearing about the weather in Canada. Still 100 here in Texas. I've put away Big Bend until I get some more pics and am starting on some beach pics from South Carolina back in the spring. I got to open 2 new beach kits this morning! Putting the pressure on dh to tell me where he wants to go for our fall trip. He mentioned Seminole Canyon State park...sounds good. It is near Del Rio and Amistad lake...have been looking at some cabins with a lake view.

Happy New Year, msliz! Love your binoculars, @elaynef. Bet the little kids will LOVE them! Glad to hear you are busy crafting away. Nothing like getting some new product that exactly goes with your photos! Can't wait to see your twist top cards, nylene. I love seeing all the interactive cards, but my own attempts never quite work out the way I want them to. I have been missing maribeth, too. Hoping it is just a busy summer camping that is keeping her away from the board. Hope you got your computer issues resolved, scrapincin. Life is too short to fight with a computer! Hard to believe how hot it is other places in the continent. It has been below or at freezing every night here for a week. Some places in Alberta got snow already. It was a good day to bake lasagne, not worrying about the house getting hot! I made two large pans of it: froze one whole pan, ate a bunch of the other with our company and then sent home leftovers with them, so the one pan is completely gone. The only thing crafty I did today was transfer my summer pages into a larger album and create labels for my Spring and Summer albums. Tomorrow I hope to start my FALL album. I have a photo I think will work really well for the cover page, and I can't wait to dig into my golds, and coppers, and oranges and browns and other fall goodies. I picked up a layered leaf stamp last week I would like to play with as well.
