Well, a food collection for someone with gastroparesis, easy pass. Though I did like that more coffee please card. Beyond that, can I say I'm having a hard time with my scrapping? I'm 3 months behind on PL, haven't made a layout in 6 months, still have 2018 WITL not finished. I'm so out of the Ali loop right now, and the only reason i went over to look at it was because you guys were talking about it. I'm just not feeling it. My boys are working for their co-ops this summer. They will be home this weekend, but one is going back to Pittsburgh in a week, as his job is there. It's the first time, besides them being at college, that at least one is away from home, on their own. And I'm hurt over it. Ridiculously so. And it is ridiculous. They are 19, will be 20 this summer. I don't own them, always knew it was a brief time they were mine before they go off into the world. But it's here, and I can't pick up an album, stamp and journal card to save my life. I know this will pass. I love my hobby. I love my albums. (I really love my stamps!) But right now? Don't want anything to do with it. Because i miss my kids, and wish for what was. Ridiculously so. Sorry to go on. I didn't want to hijack the Ali thread, especially since I've been off the Ali train for quite some time. Awww, I'm sorry. I know the feeling. I have my kids send me photos of themselves and I add them to my PL, it helps a little. Big hugs.

I agree the prices have gotten too high. It has kept me from purchasing all the previous releases from this year, with the exception of a couple WITL stamps. I missed out on the eat story kit from the past. I don’t love the colors but I’m hoping this release will be useful for creating my own WITL kit. I don’t do DD and have no interest in the upcoming travel release since I haven’t even opened the one I bought last year. I’m sure I will like the read release tho.
Do any of her old releases go on sale anymore?? I used to pick up the old DITL, WITL, OLW kits to use for the next year, but I never see them on sale anymore. That old OLW album with the smaller spine has been in stock for ages.....you think they could mark it down by now.

I bought the bundle, but I honestly don't think it's overpriced, I'm surprised everyone is taking that opinion. I do think $55 looks like a lot, but there is a lot included and like someone said above it's really the "buy all" function with a discount. I added up all of the a la carte prices of the things that are included and it is $67.92. So I think $55 is a good discount for buying everything, plus I got it for $49.49 because I waited for one of those random discount codes to pop up before I hit order.
Also, compare it to the WITL main kit: The WITL kit was $30, this is $55 so not quite double. (WITL left / foodie bundle right) 16 3x4 cards - 24 3x4 cards 8 4x6 cards - 6 4x6 cards 1 4x6 sticker sheet - 6 4x6 sticker sheets 7 cork pieces - 8 wood veneer pieces 1 4x6 chipboard (very basic design) - 3 4x6 chipboard 7 rubber shapes - 6 rubber shapes 1 3x8 notepad, 13 die cuts - 1 3x4 stamp set 7 patches, 10 transparency tags - 6 4x6 puffy sticker sheets
While there is slightly more variety of embellishment type in the WITL kit, the volume is definitely greater in the foodie kit probably by more than double. Plus the WITL kit has more paper "filler" with the notepad and die cuts, doesn't include a stamp and has way fewer of each embellishment type (e.g. 1 sticker sheet instead of 6).
I do think that it is wrong of her to change the stickers from 10 sheets to 6 sheets for the same price, but most of the other a la carte prices have been the "going rate" for awhile. Rubber embellishments have always been pricey, I'm assuming they cost a lot to make because that has been the case regardless of manufacturer, even if you leave the "inked" umbrella. They are so cute but because they don't hold up and are so expensive I wish they would cut back on making them. I am also confused by the horizontal 3x4 cards but they are called "story cards" which she usually makes 2x3 so I wonder if they were intended to be that size and then there was a miscommunication with the manufacturer? Regardless, the ones with the writing down the side I will just flip to be 3x4. The "on the menu" cards won't flip easily so I will likely cut them up or stick them on top of 4x6 or something. Or maybe give them to my friend who does use the various page orientations.
The thing that annoys me the most that no one else seems to have pointed out yet is that she explains the "bundle" includes everything from this release except the 4x6 stamp and the inks, but that is not true. The pleather circles are not included in it either and I didn't see anything about them at all on her blog post. I could see people assuming they are included in the bundle and then being upset when they aren't. I definitely would've been but caught it before ordering and added them on. It was an easy pass for me on the 4x6 stamp, I have the eat story stamp and this one has too few/too large icons. I prefer when they have some smaller items because I'm not a fan of stamping huge stamps, especially if they have solid areas (I'm just not that great at getting perfect coverage).

For me, I could easily be persuaded to buy it but I think its color scheme is gross. Also, for me, I don't care about documenting my food enough to pay so much for it, where I would pay that much for stuff for WITL as I would have a completed album in the end vs just some random pieces to use on different things.

Man, I don't want to be the Party Pooper here, but I wish she would do a 'basics' release instead of these themed releases. I need grid cards...cards with room to write....cards in generic colors that will go with everyday stuff. I miss the grid card packs SC used to sell. I am almost out! I find myself wishing for a basic black&white TN paper pack from KP with journaling and title spots (she has such a great eye for balance), maybe some basic prompts. I love using her TN papers for 3x8 albums... Sigh. Have you checked out In A Creative Bubble’s 3x8 sets. Geralyn has several black and white combos that might fit what you are looking for.

I was just going to post about the Bundle Savings. I was wondering if it was a better deal vs ala carte. And you're right it's a savings of about $12. So this is the way to go if you like everything. She should have made this known that if you buy the bundle you save $12 -- like getting one item free. That would have made the $55 easier to swallow. It's a good selling point, I wonder if it was just an error on their part OR if they knew it was a better buy as a bundle b/c you would THINK they would totally advertise that. How do you get the random codes to pop up -- I never get one. P.S. the pleather circles sold out and are no longer listed or shown on the page.

Having a "buy it all now" button is a really smart move and one that will make lots of people happy. Highlight the benefits by letting people know they're also saving money! Ideally you want people to go straight to that button and add it to their cart without giving it a lot of thought. I would've thought "save more than $12 by buying this bundle!" would be Marketing 101.

I would've thought "save more than $12 by buying this bundle!" would be Marketing 101. I'm pretty sure that nobody there has ever taken Marketing 101...
Lately, I have had the following situations which any other company would have handled differently:
1) I ordered the three stamps for WiTL that came in after the rest of the product. I had to order them one at a time on the website, which was a hassle, but OK, I can deal. I received a shipping notice in a couple days...and it never updated...after a week I started a conversation with customer service. They asked me to wait 7 to 9 days and they would re-send the stamps. OK, no problem, it happens. Then on the FB page, it became clear that this happened to a lot of people. Interesting. Eventually, all three of my tracking notices started updating (after 11 days) from New York. So my packages went from Kentucky to New York to (hopefully soon) Virginia. Again, OK, it happens. BUT...they sent out an email to everyone affected denying responsibility...basically they said, "we gave you free shipping, which is why it took so long." THAT irritated me. They didn't have to say anything. But to give a lame explanation when I have gotten free shipping in the past which came pretty quickly??? Whatever. As long as I receive the stamp sets, I will be happy.
2) I ordered the bundle from the Foodie set. As usual, I got on the internet when they went live and ordered as fast as I could, thinking they would sell out. I'd read that the stamps weren't included in everything, so I ordered the stamps. Turns out one stamp was included, so I will have two of the smaller stamp set. As soon as I realized it, before my Paypal had been charged and well before it shipped, I asked to have it removed from my order...but was told that "all sales are final."
I subscribe to all three of her subscriptions, always do WiTL and DiTL and December Daily, and purchase the special releases...they've made enough money off of me...it is just irritating. And, again, I am pretty sure nobody at Inked has studied Marketing 101.

It's gone now but I'm pretty sure the discount for bundling was mentioned in an Instagram story on the AEdesigninc IG account. Not sure why they would limit it to just that platform since not everyone uses IG or even looks at the stories. amp I almost did the same thing with the stamp set. Frustrating!

Probably because Kelly does the IG now and everything is so freakin’ disconnected under the Inked umbrella. Also, I know that the rehashing of the same products over and over again in different themes and colors has a lot of people over AE regardless of the price increases, but does it bother anyone else that the DT is the same? So not only are we seeing similar products, we are seeing the same designs using the same products over and over. Not to mention it seems like half the DT is in a creative rut and not creating. Is it really that hard to find new fan girls to showcase products in a new way? End rant.

While I do like the current DT it would be nice to see some diversity....not only demographically but also use of product. I would like to see someone who does TN or is an avid stamper, makes mini books, etc.

I have the rubber shapes, chipboard shapes, and puffy stickers in my cart but I can’t pull the trigger! The prices are INSANE and I can’t justify close to $40 for so little product. Yes, I can purchase the bundle for $55 but for a super specific themed release, that’s too high. I was hoping for a $29 bundle, not a $55 bundle.
I love Ali and I love a lot of her products but she needs to get her pricing under control or she is going to price herself out of the market.

I like the chipboard shapes but they are so similar to all her other releases it begins to get redundant. I am going to be patient and wait for a sale b/c I like them but don't absolutely love them. And I like Ali's products overall and would buy more if her prices were more reasonable. I don't understand why she only sells the chipboard in bundles, why can't she just offer them individually. Same with the sticker sheets. Hopefully she will make some changes. I am holding out for the READ release. Maybe she can have a BUY IT ALL option for $55 and then offer a mid-range bundle for $25 -- i.e. the Day in The Life Kit -- I felt that kit was reasonable for $25. One can hope.

There is only so much money most of us can allocate to scrapbooking, with her record of mistakes, misprints, etc. it is difficult to accept rising prices in conjunction with poor quality control. I’ve just got back to scrapbooking. I’m dipping my toes into new things all the time and buying things rather frequently. But I haven’t seen much from there that inspires me, and there wasn’t much to inspire me to spend $55 on food related pocket release. There wasn’t any layouts or examples that inspired me, the colors are eh, and I just couldn’t justify it. Where as there were layouts to inspire me to buy a few pieces of the sparkle city papers that I normally would not have looked at at all. I spent that money without reservation. Perhaps it’s because I’m not all the way ‘in’ for pocket scrapping, but I definitely see the attraction. I scrap the photos that inspire me and slip the rest into pockets. It’s a great combo. However I do 8x8 albums for travel and pretty much no one has anything to slip into that 2x8 vertical or horizontal slot left in the 8x8 so I’m making my own. Pretty much titled. But theres not a lot out there to attract me to pocket based releases right now. We will see when I finish these albums and try out other formats. The 6x8 calls to me a bit. Clearly pinkfresh has inspired me since I’ve just spent $60 on thier stuff.

I skipped all of this release I'm just not interested in it. Plus, for $55, I could go find something nice to eat instead of buying rehashed designs. Me too, I wasn't drawn to this. For all those who don't subscribe to her Story Kits - this is just an expanded version of her "Eat" kit - same colors, same designs, concept, sayings. I liked her Eat kit and used it to document a whole week of what we ate in my PL album, but I'm not remotely interested in purchasing a huge bundle. I think Ali is adding new fans to the wagon all the time who buy up these releases no matter what. There is a lot of talk of people putting their own kits together for WITL from her old projects. I did buy her new chipboard and an album, but other than that, I'm doing my own products from WITL too. I was so surprised to see I had plenty of DITL product from past releases and I'm so happy I skipped buying her DITL release this year. For subscribers, it's just a LOT of product. The repetition is high and I'm really getting frustrated with the amount of quote cards in each kit. I just don't want my albums filled up with quotes. I've brought this up a million times, but Breathe was more wordy than ever.

There was a post yesterday that someone posted about them buying the whole bundle and 30 other girls commented that their spending freeze was over, that they also bought the bundle, that Ali is bad for their spending habits blah, blah, blah. I wanted so badly to comment and ask them all if they were newbies to scrapbooking LOL.

I miss seeing 12x12 layouts heck even 8 1/2 x11 layouts too. I don't do PL. I wish Ali would feature her new releases on some layouts. The newest post on her blog is the design team working with the April SBTM and they are almost all traditional style pages, many 9x12 and at least one 12x12 (it's hard to tell size for a lot of them). I'm curious to see if there are ever any specific DT assignments from the foodie release. I wonder if she didn't send it to them? I haven't seen any of them posting with it.

Yeah, I do a mix of both pocket pages and traditional but really prefer to see traditional inspiration because I think the pocket pages are "easier" to come up with ideas on my own. Ali does seem to do a lot of layouts still but they are all in paid content such as her Hello Story 2 class (which had some great ones) or her story classrooms. It's a shame she doesn't share any for free on her blog anymore.

I wonder if she doesn't share any for free because the ones she does are for the class? She may not have any others to share. No clue if that's true or not and not trying to excuse it, definitely a bummer for those who do traditional! I solely pocket scrap but I totally agree it's easier to come up with stuff on my own. The inspiration I take tends to be more techniques based.

I follow at least a few of her DT I think, and no one has shown anything from it yet. I'm guessing she rushed to release without sending any of it out to DT members first. It looks like she doesn't feel like she needs that extra marketing.
