Do we think there will be a Christmas in July “sale” of old DD products this year? Ali posted in the DD Facebook group "Heads up that our Christmas In July Sale is coming later this week: July 11th through 14th. There are definitely limited quantities of some of the items and they will all be offered while supplies last. Markdowns will include the following: December Daily® Products: 20% off December Daily® Albums: 10% off December Life Items: 40% off December Daily® Digitals: 40% off"

I won't even bother to take a look. Sorry. Eta: the shipping fees alone will negate the discount.

I will take a look at the 40% off the DD Life Collection though... And 40% off digitals is a good deal, will need to look at those. 10% off Albums! That's not a sale if you ask me. I don't think anyone will be setting their alarm...

Speaking of markdowns... Any Ali codes? I squandered my welcome10 on a cheap order (kicking myself...) and I already used the 15%. I keep clicking around with stuff in my basket hoping for one to pop up.. lol but they aren't

DD digitals are all I would bother looking at. The rest? Not a sale - especially when you know some of the stuff is YEARS old.

Thank you mrsshampoo! I'm not sure that I'm going to have $50 worth, since they are (as usual) out of the page protectors I want. I just don't think they understand supply and demand. I may make this the year I do a makeshift album and punch holes in all the old Project Life and other brand page protectors I have and use that stuff up. Destashing is a goal I've been chipping away at. I suppose it may just be time to bite the bullet.

Between the page protectors being out of stock and the crappy Christmas in July sale coming up (seriously, too much of a supply, and no demand, and you Discount 20%), it is a joke. I was hoping to use the sale to push my order over $50 for free shipping, since I wanted an album, which made shipping $$$. Instead, I just went to Tuesday Morning and bought a 12x12 album and lots of page protectors for $30 and won’t be shopping the lack of sale. Good job, Inked!

I don't understand why they want to hold on to old inventory like that.
Do the old OLW kits/albums ever go on sale?? I can't remember

Studio Calico is doing 30% off albums if you buy 2 or more. Soooooo I bought two and some page protectors and it put me up above the free shipping threshold. Equivalent of about 20% off and free shipping. I can live with that. The thing that drives me batty though is that I have a 30 2B page protectors since I just can't find a way to use them. I bought 2 multipacks so between those, and the ones in the albums that's another 8 or so onto the pile lol I wish I knew someone close by that would want to trade!

The real SC warehouse sale looked very interesting a few years back, before they decided to make it into an online 'warehouse box sale' disaster.

So I know everyone has already complained about the Travel Product Play 2 class but WOW.
I honestly can't believe I paid $18.00 to look at flip throughs of albums that I feel like I could see for free on YouTube.
Where was the "product play"?? The only one I haven't watched yet is Amy's, saving the best for last, I hope...

She continuously mentions how she wants to get it done and so do many people with trips they want to catch up on. So basically just slide in pics then go back and slap down/staple minimal flat embellishments. The "craftiest" part of her album were some tags she stamped back in 2014. I don't consider that playing with the current product which is what I thought what this class was about.

The Journey add ons I know August has no holidays, but nothing looks like a SBTM themed add on

I haven't watched Ali's lesson, but I don't expect much from her anymore.
Overall I'm pretty disappointed in this year's class vs last year. Nothing innovative or interesting and the videos were meh.

She crammed 4x6 photos into pockets, added some hexagon embellishments and a circle sticker here and there. I am really disappointed. I LOVED last years class but this year between the crappy videos and no new ideas, the class just fell flat.

Sorry for all of you who bought this year's Travel Play and feel let down. Sounds like it is a major step down from last year's. Was Ali's the final lesson?
Thank you for keeping us informed despite the negative feels. It helps narrowing down what's worth investing in.

Thank you for keeping us informed despite the negative feels. It helps narrowing down what's worth investing in. I did like Ali's finished album from the Travel Play class overall. But I didn't think any of the use of product was new or interesting or "playful". It was typical of Ali's normal use of product. She did provide quite a few videos detailing her process. However, I purchased last year's Stories of Travel class and I felt much of the information in that class was repeated here in a more succinct manner. I was not satisfied with the Stories of Travel class last year for the price paid, by the way. Amy Gretchen's album was far and away the best in terms of using the new kit collection. I would rate the class a 3.5 stars out of 5.

Re: Ali not using product in a new or interesting way - She doesn't need to call the class "Product Play' if she isn't going to deliver on that. I specifically wanted to see new ways to use the products she designed. There was nothing new in her album. Rewatching an old video of her travel albums would have given me the same info I got from this class. I feel like Ali lost focus of what the class was supposed to be - using her product in a new or interesting way. She didn't. She put together a travel album with basic techniques (which would have been a better fit for her Stories of Travel class). And using Ali's own words from her site: If you are looking for a more in-depth discussion about travel documenting including what to think about and do before, during and after travel to tell the kinds of stories you want to tell check out my Stories Of Travel Self-Paced workshop. aliedwards.com/shop/classes/travel-product-play-2019I would give it 1.5 stars.

I purchased the class and I feel the same way. I'm very sure that I will never purchase another class from Ali because this was so wrong on so many levels and they should really give everyone who paid for the class a coupon code or something. It was terrible minus Amy's. I don't understand why she would sell products and own a company about memory keeping and it's a chore. This is really a hobby, safe space, stress reliever for most of her audience--not a chore. Then, as if the audience is totally oblivious to what nonchalant mannerisms are, she tries to coerce the viewer into feeling okay with not doing "too much," well Mrs. we have already invested in the product and purchased the class to play. PLAY with the Product...rename the class all together because no one wants to play without toys and/or with a person who really isn't into the game.

I contacted Customer Service, like others, but haven't heard back yet. I honestly think we should just keep contacting them until they make it right. Why should we waste our hard earned money on someone who doesn't want to work to earn theirs?? The class was honestly a joke and I'd agree with mom and give it 1.5 stars. I typically like Jen's work but she used most of the product from last years kit and kept bringing that up. "it's from last years kit but still available in digital." Ummmm I bought THIS year's kit and THIS year's class. Also like Ali continuously brings up, I'm short on time, I don't jack with digitals, hell I'd really never get a project finished! I always love Ingunn's projects but OMG, give me a bullet. This was painful to watch. I hate to say that because I really like her, but SH*T!! I already listed how bad Ali's was so no sense in rehashing that. Everyone that purchased this class needs some type of compensation back. Either a full refund or a coupon for a class of our choice.

Honestly, I don't think Ali cares what the feedback is. She made her buck, time to move on. If she cared, she would be asking for feedback & responding to what we've said. If you watch her stories, she put this album off til the last minuet, after she got back from another vacation. My sympathy has run out on her. She did the bare minimal because thats what she's trained everyone to expect from her (and thats not a compliment).
