I don’t need the kit but I will say kudos for finding a different theme to fun with that is generic enough for anyone. I mean she has her monthly word kit(story kit), the month specific kit, the day and weekly project. This new branch into shapes let’s one go with it in their own way.

The kit is now delayed. Not sure for how long. Oh the irony.

OK but THREE 12x12 papers is a bit light on the one item that makes it a more distinct “scrapbook” kit.

Well people have time to buy this because they want it, and not because of FOMO - from the AE blog: IMPORTANT UPDATE: In preparation for the launch of our new Quarterly Scrapbook Kit tomorrow our warehouse team notified us that a piece of the kit was missing. Unfortunately, upon further research we discovered this item has been delayed in shipment. What this means: We need to delay the launch of the kit and will notify you all on a new launch date and time once the item has arrived and been checked into our warehouse (hopefully in the next few weeks!) We thank you all so much for your continued support, enthusiasm and understanding!

I mean, I have a bunch of Ali stuff that says "love this story" and so on already.
I was also looking at the Read kit this morning because I want to document my reading in 2021, and it's all so uninspiring. "Chapters", "the end", etc. Blah.
She is really good at sparking stories, but it can't be the same stuff over and over again.

"double-sided 6x8 papers (sized to fit the outside of the page protectors)" What does this mean? I am pre-coffee, so maybe it will make complete sense in just a bit, but right now I cannot make heads or tails of this. And the kit is a hard no from me for all the reasons dawnnikol listed. I do find it funny that SC is trying to get back into traditional sb via Ali though.

That just jumps the gun on the people who will get them and expect them to fit in the page protector, but they will need to be cut down. ie: It's not actually 6x8, so bust out your paper trimmer! If you don't have a paper trimmer, please feel free to use our affiliate link or purchase directly from our shop. Also, don't forget: less is more.

Don’t worry the album will soon be $33.99 on sale, and sit for years and years Surprise! The 4x6 DITL Album sold out. I don't see it on the DITL shop page anymore...

I watch Ali’s you tube channel and she’s been mentioning A LOT since December Daily how much she works outside of page protectors. It’s a frequent comment if hers, and I think she’s making it easier for those who want to also work outside the pp and have the paper dimension the same as the pp.
She’s mentioned it so frequently that I feel this is going to be her “thing” that differentiates her scrapping from others.

So is it the same size as a pp including the crust where the holes are punched? What a weird thing to have.

Lisacharlotte is right, she has been mentioning working outside the page protectors a ton, so much so that I wondered if doing so had been part of her creativity spark of late - or if not spark exactly, then rededication to the craft of constructing pages. I like the idea of 6x8 pages large enough that they can serve without a PP, I thought that was rather clever of them to offer something versatile like that.

Yes, there was a “warning” of low stock on Facebook at some point. I was on the website when there was only 3 left and it is sold out now. I think with both OLW and day in the life projects (and the last DD) the main kits were sold out which is a different trend. Maybe it’s a sign that we won’t see the same items for many years in the future.

KP has been working outside the PP for years, hell, her DD in 2019 had the extra bit with holes punched and people complained. Ali starts mentioning it (based on Pea comments, I can't watch SB videos) and now stocking it at premium prices and it'll be the new rage. Now anytime her papers or SC's papers don't fit, it's on purpose, when they've been having problems with cuts for years. Brilliant.
I'm all for whatever works for you, but let's call a spade a spade. On a more personal note, since this is nothing new, be careful if you do start doing this, because those pages do not hold up very well, especially if you have a full album.

Some of Ali’s newer DT members are also out side of the page protectors scrappers so that probably influences the new products.

There are so many scrappers that scrap "outside the pocket". I'm not sure why she was pushing it so much in her video.

The think I hate most about all these inked brand sites is I just want to be able to pick up packs of journal cards, sheets of puffy hearts and fun word strips. Not entire kits. I used to sub to the story kit and the sbtm and for over a year now haven't even bought a thing from the site, not even DD. So when I see yet another kit I am just over it.

The only thing I want from that kit is the large pink chipboard heart. Everything else I have in different colors. I don’t 12x12 anymore but 3 pieces of oaper seems a bit thin for a sb kit.

That kit does not say “Ali Edwards” to me. It says “Studio Calico with a touch of Ali Edwards”.

Between cards/papers that aren't cut correctly and then PP that aren't cut correctly, it seems like a perfect solution to these problems to me. Next up will be how to use your albums when the binder mechanism won't stay!

I really like everything about the kit EXCEPT the fact that there are only 3 sheets of 12x12. I like the color scheme and even though I don't work much with hearts I can see myself playing with them.
I'm on the fence about ordering a kit when it's available but only three sheets might stop me.

Zero interest in the new story kit but I’m shocked it’s already sold out?

Zero interest in the new story kit but I’m shocked it’s already sold out? Yes, the SBTM kits have been selling out for the past 3 months. Looks like they are better with the inventory or have a lot of new subscribers. I like the kit ok but so far no regrets on cancelling the sub. I think this kit is popular as there are a lot more usable things for regular scrapbooking vs some other words so people love it.

I forgot to check the website, but I love the chipboard in the SOTM kit. Maybe someone will sell, but I am not holding my breath.

I forgot to check the website, but I love the chipboard in the SOTM kit. Maybe someone will sell, but I am not holding my breath. Let me take another look at it when I get it, but there's a lot of yellow in it, so I'll only want a few pieces of it. Edit: I looked at the SBTM chipboard, and I know I won't use any of the triangles or pennants and the two yellow/orange circles. Let me know if those are the ones you wanted. I'll see what the others look like in person, but I know I'll use the winter piece - it's been a rough winter.

I was tempted by the story kit but it sold out before I had decided. Is there anywhere to pick them up on a buy and sell site?
