I have so many of the other classes already. I may grab Lens of Joy. I really wanted the Plan, Prep & Play class and was sad to see that it's excluded.

I bought the WITL kit and the 10x8 album last year.  I did choose a week in September and I did take pics and do journaling, but I never put the album together.  It just seemed like my life was so super boring.  I'm debating doing it this year instead with my old supplies.  Is there a class that happens?  Or a Facebook group?  Or is it posted in the Craft the Story group?  How does that work? 

The blog said this year there would be a WITL prep day as well as a new class from Ali.

I haven’t seen any sneaks yet but I have it on skip- I almost always put the story kits on skip and then after the reveal walkthrough video I unskip if I like it - since you have over a day to decide after seeing everything.

I bought the day in the life kit digitally. I wasn’t sure about participating but decided to do it.

I’m frustrated with the SBTH kits. I was originally quite disappointed when the change was made this year but then decided I could make it work since I like mixing and matching and creating some of my own cards. But the papers just aren’t working. Ali had said the 6x8 papers would be something we could cut up to fit pockets and the monthly 3x8 in later months (after January) would be able to be cut to fit a pocket- I’m finding both these things to be not true. Plus, while the vellum sheets are pretty, I am not using them. I’d have to cut them and back them on another card… it just seems sort of weird.

January 6x8 paper: that postage stamp thing. Ugh. I cut it apart and made a couple 3x4 cards that were mostly white with a boarder of the floral print

February paper: those 1-6 hearts. I fussy cut them out and added to a PL page. I guess it worked but I didn’t like it much.

March: that yellow details paper with the circles. I’m trying to use it this week- I cut it in half for two 4x6 cards. Again, it’s ok and working I guess but I don’t like it much.

New for April: that 5 things paper. Crud. That’s not going to work. If you cut out the “five things” part you probably get two of those white writing spaces- I am thinking that’s not going to look right. I’ll probably just cut the side with the patterned paper to make some cards like I did in January. Do not love that. At all.

All those 3x8 monthly cards I’ve just been using as monthly recaps for my OLW.

April has those black outline circles again. Um. We just got those in January. I think I’ve used one so far. And then got similar rectangle ones in February! Otherwise I have been mostly liking the embellishments in SBTM which is causing me to keep the sub. Hate the cheaper stamp. I could cancel as I met my 12 month commitment already but dang it, SBTM was my favorite and I want it to work!

Wish I would've skipped the Make kit. It's fine I just could've done without it.

Now that I've had time to use the products I'm also finding the SBTM kits not as easy to use as the 2022 kits. It's disappointing as I was excited for the changes. The complete lack of inspiration for the new paper sizes is frustrating. Has anyone used the 3x8 or 6x8 papers in the classroom? Other than as a digital to create a 4x6 or 3x4 card? To me this indicates its not easy to use.
I don't necessarily dislike the new papers but they are adding a layer of complication that wasn't there before when doing PL. For me keeping PL simple is how I am able to get it done. Also, there aren't enough of the regular journal cards. I wish the vellum was just plain cardstock patterned paper since I'm only using it as filler. Vellum is just not something I would regularly use in my PL. Of course the stamp set quality is a major disappointment. It definitely feels like the kits are now geared toward a 6x8 story album, and less toward the larger PL style album. The colors and graphics have been good tho.

Undecided if I will finish out the year or not. Thinking maybe next year I will just do all digital or stash busting. The storytellers basic card set has been a good supplement. Thankfully I bought all of the 2022 digital kits as an add on.
