This took two months and lots of angst, but it's done! (And my house is on the market, so someone is going to luck out to a new kitchen. Life is funny that way.)
Cabinets are Ikea Ramsjo Red Brown and I love them. 16" tile on the floor, new better lighting, and drawers for pots instead of cabinets. We accidentally ended up with a farmhouse sink - wrong cut somewhere. But it works, and we love it.
Get ready for some bad iPhone photos.
This is before.. the white cabinets were that godawful foil stuff and were peeling. Popcorn ceiling and flourescent lighting.
After, from the same viewpoint..
We moved the fridge over to where the old desk/pantry was, and added pull out pantry cabinets to the sides.
And we always hated that island.. it was too small, and cut the kitchen in half. We got rid of it in favor of a peninsula, and like it so much better. Much MUCH more open.
So now I have to hope someone buys it! I hate hate hate home selling.. we're priced pretty competitively for the market (20 year old houses in this area, and I'm the only one for sale now that is four sides brick.) It hit the market on Tuesday and I've only had two showings, so I hope it picks up. (one gave feedback that the "upgrades were nice, but more were needed". The only room we haven't touched is the master bath, so I guess they want a perfect house? I don't know. The stress is gonna finish me.)

Looks fabulous! I really like the cabinets-we're planning on re-doing our kitchen in the near future so a trip to Ikea is going to be a priority. Good luck on the house selling-it sucks, doesn't it??!!

I love were you moved the frig too. That looks wonderful. I agree that the island needed to go....opens up the space a lot. Great remodel!

Looks totally different! (I have the same tile as your before pics though I think, and I still love it!) (Is your original tile 12"? Mine is 18" so maybe that's why I still love it, I am a fan of large tiles)

It's beautiful! I think it would break my heart to do all that work and then move. I hope that it sells quickly for you and at a good price.

Very nice! Your kitchen is set up exactly like ours. I have occasionally considered a center island so hearing that you didn't like yours makes me reconsider keeping our peninsula. I love looking at remodels. I always get great practical ideas.

It looks fantastic! Such a shame that you will have to leave it all behind, especially after all the work into planning it out and getting it finished! Good luck with the sale!

I love the new layout I especially like the china cabinet tucked where the fridge used to be and the new fridge area. Enjoy it while you're there, and hopefully it's just what you needed to sell your house quickly! Maria

I think it looks great! I definitely like the new layout better as well as the larger tile. As for the bathroom upgrades, some people have no clue how real estate works. You either get EVERYTHING updated and pay through the nose, or pay a decent price for a 20 year old house and have a bit of leeway to change things like faucets and light fixtures yourself.
If your master bath has really dated wallpaper, I would think taking a weekend to strip it and paint the walls would be worth the $$-- many people can't see past bad wallpaper or bright gold fixtures.
It drives me crazy how so many people on House Hunters focus on stupid stuff like an ugly chandelier. Dude. You can get rid of it. You're not signing a contract stating you must have that for the next 20 years.

It looks great. I love the colour of the cabinets, and the fridge is much better where you moved it to.
Good luck on a quick sale.

Beautiful! I was looking at IKEA cabinets a couple of days ago and really like the ones that are like pantries with shelves that pull out. I would love to have one like that. IKEA cabinets are made to be very practical and usable. Sorry that you won't get the enjoyment of your new, beautiful kitchen for very long.

Love the new look. Very elegant but not so trendy it will quickly date. This should really help the house sell fast.

It's beautiful, what a great job! I didn't think your before pictures were that bad though.
I opted out of putting in an island in my kitchen even though it was in the plans and have never really regretted it.

Sigh. So beautiful. Even your before is lots better than ours (90's oak). I would be heartbroken to do all that work and have to leave it behind but good look with getting a buyer soon.
