Good Afternoon.. Sorry I have been MIA... I have been trying to scrap and deal with a house guest that has been less than pleasurable. He really needs to get a full time job and move out.. He has made life miserable since his arrival... Nylene- glad to hear that Steve's surgery went well and he is on the mend! I love all of your LOs.. They are really inspiring me to get my Disney LOs done. LocoCoco - So sorry to hear about your issues with your vision been affected by your teeth. I hope they get you on the mend quickly! Toby2014 - what an adorable puppy. That LO is gorgeous. annchristie - what a cutiepie! Love the LOs with your little one.. I miss mine being that little.. scrapincin - very nice photo.. pretty nice looking fish you caught there to. I hope to be back on line a bit more. I have been working on catching up DD's college book in pocket pages.. I have completed 54 pages and have about another 32 to do. I was out of commission for a bit when my scrapping laptop decided not to hold charge and DS13 and DH had to get it fixed up for me. Nylene - I have that file for you. I finally got it to work nicely. I will send it to you yet this week. Take care and I will stop in tomorrow and post once of the LOs I get finished. I have a sketch I want to try tomorrow and I have several from last month that I never got to post on the August thread.

Cindy, what a great photo!! Totally frameable! My DH loves to deep sea fish. NanA, sorry about your unpleasant houseguest. Hope he moves out soon! You definitely need scrapping time!
I got a package of super cute OA goodies today - so excited! Am going to try to stop the spending for a while, as I splurged on this stuff...
Alright, time to get the kids in bed. Ttyl!

Hey all! We found out yesterday that my dh lost his job. It was a shock but we have been through this several times now so hopefully it won't last too long. Keep us in your thoughts. So tough! At times like this, I am glad I have my art and other crafts to help me through. Looks like lots of us have had or are having some stressful things going on so I guess it is time to scrap and create up a storm. LOL! Nylene and Ann- What cute layouts and just left you both some praise at PB. Cindy- That is a great picture of you with your fish! How fun is that!!! What type of fish was it? Nan- Good to see you back and hang in there! Waving hi to everyone and hope you all have a good Wednesday.

Hi Pokeys! Hope all is going well. I added that photo just for fun! The fish is a blue gill which are not very big. Just slightly longer then your hand. Not much going on here. I want to get in my scrap room and scrap but I am not getting there.
Nan-good seeing you and sorry for your problems with your house guest. It is a shame when you help someone out and they take advantage of you. Been there. Hope to see you scrapping soon.
Kelly-sorry to hear about Ron losing his job. I was sure hoping it was going to be a long term job. I know this is very stressful. I am glad you have your art to distract you once in a while.
Ann-I am a beginning fisher. We went several times on a boat but nothing was biting so this is only the second fish I have caught.
Well I need to get busy and will try to get back later.

Hi, everyone!
Kelly, I am sooo sorry about Ron's job. We were all hoping this would be a permanent position. You are in my prayers and I know there must be something better for him around the corner. Hugs to both of you.
Cindy, you look so good! And that is the cutest fish. I've never seen a blue gill. I don't think we had anything like that when we fished in Idaho...just lots of trout.
Ann, what fun OA line did you get? I love their papers but none of the LSS around here carried it and even Archivers quit carrying it, so I have missed it.
Nan, I' so sorry the house guest situation is causing you stress. I know you were worried about it. Hugs to you. How are the college kids doing? I hope you get some scrappy time. It's great for stress. I can't believe how many pages you get done at one time. I'm lucky to do more than one a week. (or more if I'm under stress!)
Pam, I hope you are off on vacation somewhere and not sick. We are missing you.
I need to run. We have the car in the shop and I have to pick up DH with the truck. Yikes, I hate driving his truck! Have a great day!

Hi girls, First of all I love hugs!! So get ready to hug, because since you are huggers I won't kiss!! (LOL) Nylene, I hope your car was ready from the shop since you hate driving a truck. I guess I would have too, but I have never drove one. How your husband doing? Kelly- I am so sorry about your husband being laid off. I totally relate. Last year in august my husband lost his job too. And the economy in Brazil is terrible, and the year was not a good one (with the soccer world cup and president's election coming everything is still). Nobody is hiring. So he is at home. I thought he would get depressed. But he didn't. Instead he is waking up early, exercising and taking the kids to school. He is much closer to the boys now. I do have 3 boys, you know. It was so good to all of them having their father close: man-thing. I hope Ron's situation reverts soon. Hopefully, something will come up really soon. US's economy is picking up again, right? Cindy, I love reading about your fishing adventures! I tried a few times, but I guess I am too anxious. The fish run from me and I never caught not even 1/2 of a fish! Keep the news coming (hiking, fish, and all outdoors adventures you participate. You inspire me). I agree about selecting this pic for a frame. You look great! Nan - I guess we haven't met yet. So its nice meeting you! I am sorry to hear about your house guest. Its very annoying to have someone for a long period of time and the person does not leave. I lived in the US, as many of you know, for 7 years. During this time we had many house guests. They stayed from a week to 15 days. Some were really fun to have. Others... were a nightmare. But the worse was when DH's cousin came after he got ditched and his wife filed for divorce. He was depressed, drunk a lot and stayed for one month and a half. I don't have the right works to describe and if I find the right ones, I guess you all would be shocked... LocoCoco - I am also sorry about your theet problems. I hope you get better soon! Toby2014 - Nice meeting you too. Welcome to our group! I hope you like it here and stay. annchristie- Love your LO. Nice meeting you too! Before I go, I must have to confess I didn't do anything during the weekend. Not a sketch, not glued a sequin... nothing. I guess I was the one a bit down. But I am much better now as you see. Big hugs to all you huggable girls I was missing you all! PS: I came back just to add a question, one that I don't have the answer to, but I am very curious... Whats LSS stands for?? Thanks!

Hi all! Kelly, so sorry about DH's job! Yikes! What does he do? Hope he can find something soon, that would stress me out! Cindy, well good job for the 2nd time! My DH doesnt' always catch anything, or at least anything worth keeping, but he says "that's why they call it "fishing", and not "catching"" lol. He's threatening to go on Monday, his day off. Nylene, hope you got your car back! My DH has a truck too. It's super comfy but feels so much longer than my SUV. I don't mind driving it, but I hate parking it. Ugh! Dani - nice to "meet" you too I've actually been reading for about a month since the last time I was on here, so I kind of feel like I "know" you already! Hope that's not creepy, it's not meant to be Don't worry about not scrapping, that's why we're the Pokey Peas, lol. I've got 2 little kids, so it's tough to find the time for me too. I'm hoping to go home and put together a small kit for my next LO. I realized there's more of a chance of me getting a LO done if I do a bit of prep before the weekend. I'm working a bit late tonight, so I won't have a ton of time. My 18 month old (the subject of my layouts) has been waking up a bunch at night lately...I'm so stinkin tired He's the sweetest kid, but he sleeps like crap, I'll tell ya. It has not been easy. My DD was the best sleeper! Ok, better go. TT ya'll later. Have a great night!

Good morning Sweet Peas! Happy Friday! I'm getting ready for several of my managers to come over. We are working on writing a whole bunch of proposals, many of our contracts are up for bid so we have to go through this process every few years. We have to prepare 15 bids and a couple of grants, so we are hiding out at my place today and Monday to try to get a bunch of it done.
Kelly - I'm sooo sorry about Dh's job. I've been there with my hubby in the past and I know that it can be really stressful.
Nan - I wouldn't cope with long-term visitors, I would probably be overly blunt about being inconvenienced. I hope you can get your home back to normal soon.
Well, my people are starting to arrive, so I'd better get off here. I did get my scrappy room cleaned up last night, so I'm hoping to do some crafting this weekend.
Have a happy day!

I feel the same way about Tina, even though we have not had a chance to chat yet! My oldest son, now he is 20, he was like your 18mo boy. He woke up at night, every night until he was 2. Then I don't really know what happened he begun sleeping the whole night! I was constantly tired and some nights I was mad at the poor boy. He was and is very sweet too. Hang in there! I hope he sleeps a full night soon enough. Tina, good luck with your proposals! Have a great friday!

Good luck with all of your work, Tina! Dani, yep, I'm afraid this boy will be the same. He does sometimes sleep through the night (like last night, yay!) but he still goes through phases where he wakes up more often than not. I think sometimes he just wants a cuddle with mommy. I know what you mean, sometimes I get upset too, especially when he's up for hours and I'm just wiped out. Oh, Nylene, I never answered your question. I got the Daily Flash All Boy and Girl Talk lines from OA. I've never bought an entire collection before, and I just love both of those lines, especially the boy one, and knowing how hard it is to get OA stuff, I just went ahead and spent the $... I'm now on a scrappy spending hiatus for a couple of months though, heh.

This is a happy Friday! My dh got another temp job and starts Monday. Plus he has some other things in the works so I feel so relieved today. So thanks for all your prayers, hugs, inspiration and cheers. You girls are the best! Although I still get pretty stressed when this happens I am learning that somehow it all works out. Whew!!! LOL! Also, today I am happy because I am inviting you all to my 2nd online art show. Some of the art you all have seen and there are lots that will be new. Boy, was it hard waiting to share some of the new stuff weeks ago. But I wanted you all to see it in the video. So I hope you all stop by and enjoy! Here is the link. Kelly's Art ShowAnn- My dh is in HR/recruiting. So this next job will be in that too. Hope you get caught up on your sleep this weekend. Also, it is pretty hot weather we are having. So stay cool too. Dani- Yeah, I see sometimes good things can come out of a job loss like you dh having more time with the kids. I hope the economy picks up over there soon, too. It has been a tough season. Nylene- Hope your dh is continuing to feel better. Thanks for the hugs too. I sure needed them. Tina- Good luck with the proposals! Sounds like lots of work but I am sure you all will get them done. Then, you can reward yourself with scrappin'!

Tina, I hope all your proposals and grants go well. You do such good work with the children in your state. I hate writing grants. I had to do that when I was more involved on the County and State level of 4-H. I don't envy you, but you have such a good way with words and such compassion. I know you will do well.
Kelly, I can't get your art show to start for me. I know DSIL put some heavy duty blockers on my computer, but usually I can get to what I want. I'll try it later tonight. Maybe just a glitch here. Can't wait. Hooray for the job for Ron!! I knew there was something else out there for him, but will continue to pray that he finds the perfect permanent fit.
Dani, I'm sorry your DH is still out of work. Hugs and prayers (and some kisses) for you guys also. Being out of work is so hard on families. The economy is picking up around here, so I hope it is there too. We'd love it if he could find a job in the states.
Ann, I hope your little one will decide he needs to sleep while it's dark! and not keep you up. My grandson that is 23 months is going through the same thing. He used to sleep, but got a cold and now thinks getting up with mom is fun. This too shall pass...I keep telling my girls.
It's time that I head to bed. Waving to all. Talk to you later.

Kelly, thanks for the new link. I had my DSIL walk me through how to unblock it and I tried to post a comment, but could not see if it really posted. So I copied it and am posting it here too: Kelly, where to start! I love it all. I especially love hearing your voice. Where are you originally from? I hear a bit of an accent but can't place it. Love the new stuff you have done with the stencils. I love so many of them that I lost count of my favorites. Really like the one with the medallion in her hair and the medallions at her neckline, the one where half her face is showing, and my favorite is your canvas! You are so talented. I'm amazed at your shading and highlights and the "fun" that you add to each piece. When you publish your book, I speak for an autographed copy!! I'm so proud of you and how far you have come with your art. Love it
I want Pam to do a coffee table book too and I want an autographed copy!

Nylene- Oh, I am sooo happy you got to see it and liked it! And yes your comment did post! :)You sil did a fine job helping you too. I originally was going to record myself on the video but decided to just do my voice this time. Maybe next time you all will see me in person. But I am a native Californian as far as my accent. Once someone asked if I was from the South so not sure if my voice sounds southern or not. I guess I could say yes, I am from the South, Southern California that is. LOL! Thanks for your support to. You ladies have cheered me to some heights I never thought I would about. The funny thing is I am still sort new at all this. So I wonder where I will be with my art down the road. But wherever it takes me I hope you and these ladies will be there with me celebrating all the way. And yes, if I become an author, your copy is free! LOL! Hope you are having a restful day. Oh and thanks for your prayers about Ron's job! He starts this week. So grateful it all worked out so fast. Dani and Cindy- Thanks for the comments on my blog. Now you all see why I was so excited to share this video with you. Also, it was a blast using my movie maker software to make the video. So, I will have to do another down the road just so I can play with this neat program again. LOL! Oh and Cindy, I read Ron your comment and although he was in the other room, I know he was smiling and blushing. LOL!

Good evening! Well My Cleveland Browns won their home game opener today-for the first time in 10 years. Made my day! We ended up beating the New Orleans Saints 26-24 in the last few seconds of the game. Finally a win and a really decent game compared to what we have had the past few years. I hope it continues. Loving all the great work being produced here. Hopefully I will be getting some scrapping done here-going to try to get in there in the evenings and get somethings accomplished!
Well gonna run it is getting to be bed time! BBL.

Hi ladies! Kelly, so glad your DH got a temp job so quickly! Phew. Hopefully something permanent will come up soon. I'll watch your art show tomorrow at work (lunchtime, of course!). Can't wait! And yes, I've been hunkering down mostly inside. Not excited about the a/c bill that this month will bring... Nylene, always love your Disney pages! Keep 'em coming, seriously! They are too cute. Cindy, yay for winning football! I'm not much of a fan, but my DH is. I'm more of a baseball gal, go Angels!! Well, did 3 pages this weekend. Only photographed one though, not sure what happened there lol. This one is my favorite anyway, so that worked out. For my kids' first bday parties, I always print pics of each month to display. Then, I've taken each photo and used it as a "title page" if you will for their one year album. After each title page are a few pages with photos from each month. No journaling on these. So this is the 9 month page Ok, off to bed I must go! Hope you all have a great week! ETA: the colors in the pic are bad, sorry. Card stock is yellow and grey.

This was a fun layout to do. Some of you from 2peas Pokeys will remember our DD, Angie. This is such a cute photo of her with her dad at Disneyland. DH has never been a big Disney Theme Park fan, but he was usually in Conferences when the kids (and now grands) and I enjoyed the parks. Being basically retired now, we talked him into flying down to meet Angie and family in Anaheim. I think it was the first time he really captured the Disney Magic through the eyes of children. I think we have him converted. Angie's DH is an animator for Pixar, so their family gets in free to all the parks and can take a certain number of others free. It turned out to be a very cheap vacation because when we tried to pay the hotel bill, we were FIRMLY informed that the bill was prepaid and they were under strict orders not to tell us the cost. So we paid plane fare and that's all. Now, that's a great vacation!

Just popping in to waving hello before dinner. Hope you all are doing well this evening. Nylene & Ann- Just left some praise for you both on all your adorable pages. You all are so talented! Ann- That little guy looks like he really melts your heart. Such a happy baby! Oh yeah, we all are doing to be a little sad when we see the higher a/c and electric bills. But it is worth it. LOL! If we didn't have a/c right now I would be hot, literally! Cindy- You did win! I wish they showed the game live out here but I did hear about your win. Congrats! Both my teams lost and we are watching Ron's team now on MNF. I hope the Eagles win tonight for his sake.

Hi,all.
We were happy to go pick up our car today after being without it for a week. We turned on the AC which worked, switched it to heat which worked, switched it back to AC and it stays hot. Same thing we have taken it in for every summer since we bought it. So now they are ordering another whole panel unit and we'll have to take it back in for more work. $$$$ This is the 3rd time we've taken it in for a recall also, of course, no charge on that, but I'm wondering if we got a lemon. DS suggested this car because he has one and had really loved it. I'd blame it all on the flood it survived, but the problems started long before the flood....exactly 1000 miles over the warranty. CARS! Ugh! I need to be grateful that I have one.
Tomorrow DH returns for his post op on his eye and hopefully it will be healed enough that they can do a refraction to change his glasses and get him back to driving. I'm also looking forward to getting a perm tomorrow. It's pretty bad when "getting a perm" is the highlight of your day!! LOL! Actually I've needed it since we went to Disney, which is obvious in the photos!
Have a nice night and a great day tomorrow.
ETA: Cindy, I didn't see your post when I started typing this several hours ago and got interrupted. I'm sorry about your headache. I have one too and am trying to decide if it's the beginning of my annual allergy related sinus or if it's a reaction to meds I'm taking for a rash. I hope you can get yours gone and do some scrapping. Hugs, friend. Have fun at your dinner tonight.

GOOD NEWS! DH can drive, even with his old glasses. He tested 20/40 which is legal. They want to wait another 2 weeks to see if it still needs to heal and then they can correct it to at least 20/30. We are thrilled. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers on his behalf. So glad we went to the specialist surgeon in Salt Lake.
