Vickie uploaded a new video using the new MFT stamps and used the TH platform instead of the MISTI.
I mostly just watch the create 8 and SSS kit videos so I don't know if she used it in other recent videos.

I don't follow "celebs" so I don't know who she is. Last name, please? I can use more craft videos to watch while I exercise.

scrapnnana Her last name is Greek, very hard to remember how to spell! Vicki Papaioannou www.youtube.com/user/vickypgrI haven't seen her use a platform for a while but I don't watch all her videos. She does use new tools when she gets them though - she uses her new folding Big Shot now instead of her old normal one.

I noticed that too! I've never seen her use it before.
It puzzles me why some of the other YouTubers don't use it. Like no one at all! Do you wonder if there was more to the story that insiders know, and lots of people were mad at Tim? This and the timing of his leaving Ranger adds to my curiosity.

I just looked it up and I'm all ETA and then I notice it's news from a year ago and now I'm really laughing at myself for being out of the loop...

Sorry! I was too lazy to look up the correct spelling. LOL 90% of the time I am too. But her videos are awesome, so I figured dropping a link in would be a public service. And then her name was right there...

I just looked it up and I'm all I know, right? It happened so suddenly, and the PR made it seem mutual and congenial. But reading between the lines, and looking at events since make me wonder. Purely speculation on my part.

Correcting my statement to say that characterizing TH as leaving Ranger may not be entirely correct. He "stepped down" as Creative Director. But now they're all about the other designers, not him. He mentioned that he had to fight hard to get the Oxides produced, and that Ranger didn't understand why anyone would want it. It's one of the single most successful crafting items ever. Possibly another piece of the puzzle.

I just went on a big rant about stars. Vickie is a sweetheart. Stay a sweetheart Vickie. Pretty please! She is so very talented. I don't sub to her channel but when I catch a video I start binge watching other videos. That is amazing that Ranger didn't think Tim's Oxide's were not going to sell well. I don't go out and buy the latest greatest. I wait a few months. I just recently bought two of Tim's inks and the first time I used them I was like "These are heavenly!" I am planning to get some more. I also want to add that I think those inks are more formulated for my kind of style. I don't want anybody to go out and buy the inks, bring them home and say "Well, I don't think these are heavenly." I haven't seen a lot of people use Tim's platform either. To be fair I haven't seen a lot of platform's get any use. Most stamper's I watch are still using acrylic blocks. I wonder if it is because it takes longer to get the platform's ready. Maybe, it is easier to use the blocks when filming videos.

I've noticed that Kristina Werner hasn't been using the Misti lately either. I wonder what happened, because she used to use that thing all the time.

Thanks for the link, joblackford!
On the Ranger topic, I was resisting the new distress oxide ink pads. I have a ton of ink pads, but maybe I will buy one and see why everyone is excited about them.

Re; Tim H. Sounds like there was something going on at Ranger for him to step down and now they are ignoring him. I wonder if the Iliana fangirls turned on Ranger and started making problems over there. We all know how boycotts can make companies testy, esp companies in such a niche market as crafting. I doubt highly that, in reality, the fangirls could threaten Ranger but no one likes bad press.

Scrapnnana, I have a ton of ink pads too but these are a MUST have. They really are completely different than any other ink pad out there!

That's what I did too. I love it. Now waiting for small cubes. I know he said he's not doing cubes for oxides, but I'm an optimist.

Not happy. They are a bit of a drive. I needed something for another project. I knew there was something else I needed.

Funny that you say this ~ she posted a video within the last several days where she specifically mentions using the MISTI and why she loves it. She talks about it quite a bit. It's the one with candy corn. I thought it was a bit odd.

Jennifer McGuire had a video a little while back where she pretty much stated that she wasn't even going to try another positioner. I felt it was really unprofessional of her, and just badly done. She totally lost my respect after that, and I had watched her for a long time.

I've also seen her post a few times of Instagram pictures of people from different companies within the industry all together and how wonderful the getting along is. I'm a stamper, so I see companies post collaborations all the time. Which is why I find it so interesting that some YouTubers vehemently using the MISTI. Quite honestly, and I've said it in another post, I really wonder if they have signed a contract with My Sweet Petunia. If they have, hopefully it has an end date.

The really bizarre thing is that a lot of these people are doing the YT videos for places that sell the other stamp positioners! It's so weird to me that in a video for Simon Says Stamp you will see someone intentionally and openly ignoring a very popular tool such as the TH stamp platform, when SSS promotes Tim Holtz stuff regularly. The whole situation just smells fishy.
