Whenever I go an entire day without outrage, I remember that one person in some place that one time got mad when someone said "Merry Christmas" to them, and I realize that when the war on Christmas doesn't take up at least 363 days of the year, it's obvious that we're not spending enough time on important things like forcing complete strangers to recognize our religious holidays.
And red solo cups are such a trigger now. It reminds me of the battle of Starbucks ca. 2016. The cups, they were just...red. Not a hint of Jesus to be seen. How could I possibly drink a coffee without Jesus on the cup to remind me whose season it was? I simply can't attend any backyard BBQs or wild and crazy parties anymore, because I might be offered a red solo cup and that triggers my flashbacks to the time we did battle at the Starbucks inside the mall, forcing the baristas to call out "TRUMP" as we paid them $4.50 for a latte in that heretical cup. We showed them, though! They had to get rid of those red cups within a few weeks because of our righteous indignation.

Oh well, if people feel that they simply must be outraged all the time for the next four years, that's their problem. No skin off my nose. But then, keep in mind that that constant state of anger and upset leads to a decreased immune system. Think cancer, stroke, heart attack. No matter how much you rant, Trump will be president for the next 3+ years and I'm betting another 4 after that. If you can sustain the anger that long, more power to you. My my aren’t you the optimist about trump’s time in office. I mean Steve Bannon only gives him 30% odds that he will complete his first term. And I suspect Bannon knows where the skeletons are buried so he may know something we don’t. As to the reception of this thread because you started it, how all of our threads and posts are treated is based on our track record on this board. There are some who can start a thread with this topic and people will agree with what is being said without wondering what her motive is. And then there are those who start a thread with this topic and folks think “yea right what’s she up to now.” We are all judged by our past actions and on a place like this most of us only have a one dimensional view of the person we are interacting with. |

I don't remember why Liz Juan went after Lauren or vice versa as to what their deal was, I don't recall all of the details of how & why it first started either because it didn't involve or interest me, but it was an all our war between the two of them, obviously Liz was more unstable and lauren just kept at her and pushing all her buttons until she had a meltdown. No-one else was ever as obsessed with Liz as Lauren was (I do remember Liz accusing Lauren of joining some knitting forum to harass her). Then whenever a new person came on the scene and disagreed with Lauren she'd pull the "I know it's you Liz" routine. No-one ever mentions Liz apart from Lauren. The new ID was so obvious though, I can't believe she didn't put in more effort to try to hide who she was it was pretty transparent right from the first few posts I read, and she sticks to the exact same MO. As I said on her attempt at diversion on a colouring thread, it passes the "duck test": If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck...then it's a fucking duck. And this duck has a very distinctive and unpleasant quack. |

100% confirmed that you are Lauren. For the win. There's an epic "gotcha" if ever there was one!  I haven't given a single thought to Liz (& Juan) since the last time Lauren posted about her and I doubt 99% of the other regular posters here have either, Lauren is the only one who ever brings up her name because she's the only one who ever had that feud and a total obsession with Liz. I have to admit the significance of that post & those names passed me by (although the true ID was already confirmed as far as I was concerned)...nice pick-up. This. Although I still entertain the idea that Lauren shares this I.d. with mapchic/Ruth Margaret. It used to be a popular red pea strategy to share alters so that it was hard to pin down/identify the voice. |

I went 8 years without outrage and then something weird happened. I wish I could put my finger on it.  Same. I wasn't outraged by sleeveless dresses and flip flops like some. I guess I saved up my outrage for issues that matter. I'll go further than that. I haven't been this outraged with/by a POTUS in my lifetime. Something about him, hmmm... maybe the fact that he is a miserable example of a human being. Not to mention he is so far over his skis and is flying by the seat of his pants with no plan- other than the ever present It's.All.About.Him. plan. |

Lauren loves to get super personal. She will lash out at those who cross her, using the lowest comment she can assemble into typed words. Like that time Lauren told a poster, who had recently lost her mother, that she was going out to lunch with her own mother. I've seen a lot go down throughout the years...but that one was so hard hitting. She intentionally injured that poster when she was at her most vulnerable.
If you've ever posted something personal and you find yourself sideways with Lauren, brace yourself.
I'm disappointed that the admin tolerates this.

I'm going to regret this post but whatevs.....
I am slightly in agreement. I do not have the energy to be outraged by national issues every day the way some peas appear to be. I am more concerned with my community :
why my school district seems to be under reporting DASA violations and why I cannot find out who the DACA rep is in our schools.
why an 11 year old student in my daughter's grade hung himself last week, and why I have to talk about suicide with my daughter
why my bosses see fit to cause the law firm I work for to implode, affecting 300 employees including myself - not to mention publishing our salaries in court docs
How my mother's pet scan will go next month and wonder and worry if this is our last holiday season together
So when "you" accuse us that are not outraged daily as being privileged, it's offensive and dismissive. Some of us have more pressing issues. It IS nice to take a break from the outrage once in awhile. We are not unaware of the world and the nation's inequities, abuses, etc.
We just can't invest every day. Or every week.

She, then, in turn, turns to us to listen to her vents about the world. |

I don't recall her imploding at all. I thought she conversed well and don't remember her calling people names. She was conservative but not skybar conservative. I think that would be way too hard to keep those two identities separate. |

the last 2 days I have managed to stay away from news and the associated outrage for most of the day since we have been so busy with wedding planning. I hope to stay away from it for most of the weekend when I am at craft retreat. It is extremely refreshing.

I am going to scream at someone soon. I am effing sick in Barcelona. I knew this would happen again. It hard to find tea here and there is no kettle in the hotel room. A Starbucks would be great.
I would say I am so outraged right now you don’t want to be near me.
Actually I am just sick with a fever and runny eyes. I can’t go anywhere without getting sick so it seems. I am really hot.
