Spitfiregirl, slight hijack but weren't we looking for Jones Soda with your daughter's design on it? I am still looking whenever DS gets one...

Yikes! It's shocking that they lasted so long with that kind of practice! I actually did shop there, back in the days when I first joined. But then they jacked up the shipping costs and decreased product availability, so it just wasn't worth it anymore. That's why I quit shopping there as well. The shipping was insane!

Add to it that they had a bad habit of not paying manufacturers and quantities certainly were limited. That is why there was little to no restocking of the items used by the GG's! (Suspected but still a DUH! moment) Many brick & mortar stores had similar set ups for people to do some LOs to sell product, BUT also had good reputations with their vendors and were able to get restocked quickly. I know of two stores that sold the exact same stuff as Two Peas and had it in stock, of course I would buy from a local place, rather than take the chance on Two Peas. I did buy many items, and I did buy many digital kits, and was very upset when they wiped them out in a short time. Wasn't like a week; from giving notice to the files were deleted for good?

Has anyone ever gotten a reason why their shipping was overly priced compared to other online stores? I wanted to buy from 2Peas but when I went to checkout shipping was just outrageous. I'd go to a competitor and pay half of what 2Peas charged for shipping or sometimes free shipping.

I agree with those who are surprised the site lasted as long as it did. That's a crazy bad business model.
"Hey ladies, here's a layout using all of the new October Afternoon products! Head on over to the store and---oops! Too late!"

I did online sales for a few years. When you pay for shipping, you are also paying for the handling - the packaging, etc.
Anything past that is profit to you.
That's why ebay got so carayzee on seller's shipping costs. I'm pretty sure they were both making sellers more accountable for the prices they charged AND getting a percentage of what was charged at the same time when I left.

Why did they think that would be a good idea? It's no wonder they went out of business. Oh, and more gossip, please.

My daughter was on a bottle and my mom was on a bottle. I never found them in the wild, but Jones sent me a dozen labels so i relabeled some of their sodas… !

I didn't know that...honestly it would have never occurred to me because that seems like a really bad business model. Oh wait...it was. Funny-and so true!

Poor business skills.
I bought from them a few times, several years ago, but the cost of shipping to Canada was ridiculous. And then on one order, they sent me part of my items, charged me a ridiculous amount, and then sent the rest, charging another ridiculous amount. I didn't even contact them about it, because back then, they never answered customer service e-mails. But I never bought from them again. I bought from other online stores in the U.S. and shipping costs were less than half of what Two Peas charged.

Yeah, no kidding. Shitty business model indeed!
I always thought it was bad form to have a group of people showcasing supplies for a store, and the store had NONE of the supplies. UGH!
