The world's cutest kitten is typing the thread this am. He refuses to stay off of my arms. Secretly, I love kitten cuddles. His human owner only has one person at home for dinner tonight. That means leftovers.
I tried to post a photo of our furry tribal member, but I can't figure out how to do it. I'm technically challenged.
What's on your menu?
Have a delightful day.

I am making fajitas for dinner tonight. We all agreed that we would like that for dinner. Still need tomatoes and sour cream from the store. I can't get away with not going at least once in a day.

It's easier if you use the tapatalk app, scrapmaven (as easy as uploading pictures to FB). Dinner? Spaghetti carbonara and brookies for dessert.

I am sick. Campbell's Tomato Soup with croutons in it or Campbell's cream of Mushroom soup, with additional mushrooms. Comfort food.

We’re still without power. Dh said he’s going to cook hamburgers tonight. He’s also cleaning out the refrigerator. It’s been over 36 hours now.
I managed to sleep pretty well last night as did dd. I’d really like to get back to normal but honestly, I shouldn’t be complaining, there are so many worse off than us.

There are over 100,000 without power in our area.

I think we're having chicken. DS is flying to Orlando to spend 9 days at WDW with 14 or so other people. His best bro Kevin with Kevin's wife, Tiffany, and their 3-month old, Kevin's parents, Tiffany's parents and assorted friends/family. They are going to have a ball. The 3-month old is dressed up in a flight attendant costume.

scrapmaven , I'm working on an iPad in the browser (not sure if it's the same on a regular computer) and I just click on Add Attachment in the upper right corner of the Create Post window. Then go find your photo. It needs to be 1meg or smaller. I resize my photos by emailing them to myself, because I don't know how else to resize on the iPad. KelleeM , I sure hope you get your power back soon. For dinner (or more likely, after-school snack ... I think he's actually going over to his dad's for trick-or-treating), I need to run out and pick up one of these. It's a surprise. Hope he's impressed. (click on thumbnail to see it full-size)

I made a chicken casserole that is a cross between a jalapeno popper chicken casserole and a ranch chicken and cheese casserole. It smelled good when I was putting it together. We'll have that and roasted sweet potatoes, and salad.
Growing up it was traditional for us to have chili on Halloween night, but even though I tried to make that a tradition in our house, DH and DS didn't ever buy into it.

We neither have a ToT'er nor get ToT'ers in our neighborhood, but we are still having the traditional hot dogs for dinner! It wasn't planned, just worked out that way!

Ugh, KelleeM, I really hope you get power soon. I'm not sure what is for dinner. After complaining about the heat all last week, it is cool and drizzling today. My helpful DH took tuna out of the freezer yesterday and didn't tell me. I discovered it thawed in the garage fridge this morning, so I guess we are having tuna. I usually grill it but want comfort food tonight. Would it be criminal to use it in a tuna casserole? My other problem is there are only salad vegetables in the house and it isn't a salad night. The struggle is real. Our sidewalks are being torn up this week and replaced so I suspect very few ToTers tonight unless they walk down the middle of the street.

My daughter is going to a friends to watch scary movies and eat candy. A bag of candy is the ticket in!
I'm going to one of my friends for a party / tot. They get a lot of kids and have fantastic decorations.
I'm making jalepeno cornbread muffins and bacon cornbread muffins.. and maybe some jalapeno bacon muffins.

We never get tot-ers at our house. I used to go to my mil's or a friends to see the cute little kids in costumes. I'm just not feeling it this year.
Kait's friend is coming over to carve pumpkins, eat candy, and watch Stanger Things.
I am making mummy hotdogs, frozen fries, and homemade vanilla ice cream.
Should be a fun night at home.
ETA...I didn't want to bump yesterdays thread but, scrapmaven, they sent him home with oral antibiotics.

The Birdhouse Lady, I'm glad that he's home. Oral antibiotics means they trust that he's healing. Whew. lucyg, thank you for the info. I'll try it on my android. bc2ca, might I just second Lucy's sentiments about a torn up street on Halloween. STUPID!

For our dining pleasure this evening we will be enjoying maidrites on buns along with chips and dips. The children and grandchildren will be eating at our house while or after trick or treating. Hopefully we will get to see some wonderful costumes this evening. Except it is again 32 degrees at the tail end of Trick or Treating time. bc2ca I agree with lucyg what dickhead public works person decided tearing up sidewalks would be a good idea during Halloween...... KelleeM I am so sorry you are now having to throw stuff away because your power has been off too long. lucyg BooLaLa Pizza? Baaaaawaaawwwaaaa! Happy Halloween Everybody!

I am fixing left over whole roasted chicken, steamed green beans, left over rice, and potato oven steak fries (I call them wedges) that are seasoned with kosher salt, pepper, paprika, parsley, and thyme. Soooooooo delicious. I am also making a BBQ sauce for the potato wedges.
We will be eating at about 4:45pm because ToTing here starts at 5:30pm and the kids (they both have ASD) prefer to ToT before it gets super dark. We tend to wrap things up when it has just gotten dark.

This cooler weather is a nice welcome for sure though. I am just concerned about Saturday as we are going to Day Out With Thomas and it might rain. Hopefully later in the day!!! Our ride times are 9am for Thomas and 10:10 for Percy.

I got a flu shot today and my arm is killing me Positive thoughts for everyone that needs them

Good lord KelleeM! I can't believe you have to wait so long for power. It gets old fast! The Birdhouse Lady, I just posted on the Halloween thread that we don't get any T or T and I'll be curled up watching Stranger Things tonight! quiltz, hope you feel better soon. Dinner will be leftover Chinese for DH and some pears for me. I love pears, but they must be perfect before I eat them...just the right firmness and color. I'll probably add some crackers and cheese to my dinner.

I logged onto the power comany’s website and found that our house is scheduled to have power back by 11:45 pm on November 2. Not quite the news I’d hoped for. You may have said this before or in another thread, but I missed it-- how come you're without power? (Did you get a snow storm this week?) Regardless, I'm sorry for the loss of all your stored food! And of course the massive inconvenience of it all! I don't get trick or treaters in my apartment building. Boo. I always thought it would be nice if the management company would make that a thing for residents-- how great would it be to be able to take your toddler through the fifty apartments in one building where it's all nice and warm and dry and well-lit inside and easy to take them home when they tire after half of a floor? But I actually think we don't have that many families with small children-- mostly retired folks, a handful of graduate students, and professionals like me in this place. I know of one family with small kids in this building, but that's it. Anyhow, dinner tonight is garlic shrimp and parmesan rice, all made WITHOUT A RECIPE using the handful of cooking skills I have.

I wouldn't survive the power off that long KelleeM. That pizza is hilarious lucyg. scrapmaven I came home today to my kitten having unraveled almost all of a hat I was working on. Yarn all over the living room. Crazy kitten. Well I did trick or treat. It was cold but this mornings slush was gone. Then I put on Halloween. I had to go out to the shed and clearly there is some animal in there. Scared the absolute heck out of me! I came in, locked the doors, and turned on all the lights. Changed the channel. That's enough fright for me tonight. I ate just enough swedish meatballs to justify the chocolate that I'm going to have tonight.

I love that baby costume.
Plumber has to replace the pipes going down to the basement so still no water. So we ate at dh’s golf club. I had salad with chicken. Dd & sil came over for TOT. Thought we’d have a lot but some idiot at the city ordered the sewer lines replaced on my street along with the rain garden installation. So we are missing sidewalks and our entire block has a deep trench dug out. I think people avoided our block.
I hope they finish this soon.
