I'm not sure how this created any less drama. I know I personally emailed them and told them my feelings, and I am sure I am not the only one. They did respond to my email so I am sure it is creating more work for them that way. Instead, they could have just posted a notice and then ignored the message boards until the time to close came.

You know I panicked when I saw the message boards were closed, and now here I am and I am so happy to see people here that I never thought of as friends, but now I am like getting tearful seeing everyone's familiar avatar and username. I even imported my siggy from 2peas. How crazy is that!

I was a daily lurker on NSBR, but didn't actually post very often. Can't say I'm surprised that 1.) they're closing and 2.) they are going about it this way.

I think it's pretty bad form, as well. The email that I got never said it was happening today, just, hey, we're closing.... everything's on sale. I thought that would mean we had a little time to get used to the idea. Too bad we weren't worth that.

Definitely sad they didn't even let the boards stay up for at least a little while so people could finish trades, sales, swaps, etc. and discuss a new place to go.

It was a real dick move. They could at least have given a weeks' notice and ignored all complaints. But it looks like people aren't having a lot of trouble finding this place. Then again, there are peas that can't go to Trader Joe's without the advice given in 8 different threads, so it may take some a bit longer to get on board.
