The owners are being praised all over my IG feed lol they had their personal IGs public now it's closed. I'm wondering if people started bitching on their personal IG and they had to close it off. Sucks this happened. I was a 7yr pea mostly a lurker. But I will say when I lost my dad I went on the board to "get away from real life" and just reading the boards helped. I love this set up a lot better though!

One thing that really pisses me off is that I will no longer have access to classes I have purchased through them. Now, maybe you ladies are better but I didn't even get a chance to do the classes or watch the videos. Grrr...
I do agree though, epic hair-flip!

I'm with the masses on this one. That was a completely assholian way to close down. I'm really glad to see some form of the boards continue.

I emailed them to telling them how disappointed I was that they closed the message boards so suddenly. Camille responded pretty quickly but only said that peamail was still available.

I KNOW that 2 Peas didn't owe us anything, but seriously, I think, after 15 years, a little notice would've been nice. It would have given everyone the chance to regroup and find another place to hang out (thank you for this board!!!). Would it have killed them to give us a few days notice that the boards were going down? Intellectually I know they could do what they wanted, emotionally, I don't think it was well done of them

You can still try and download your class material. There are programs out there that will allow you to download the videos. I know there is an extension for Chrome called video download professional.
I was able to download my digital purchases last night. I would get errors, bit was finally able to get everything.

I wonder if all the employees had any notice? I heard the GG didn't but what about the actual warehouse workers? Feel bad for them if they only got a weeks notice they would be out of a job. I thought about placing a final order from them, but was pissed off about the message board, so figured I wouldn't bother. Glad to have a new site though, I would miss having a talk place.

My parting thoughts about 2peas would have been way different than they are now. Instead of 'wow, they really suck' it would have been more of a 'bummer, how sad - that must have been such a difficult decision to have to make'

The "secret" Garden Girl Board where there was some bashing of other Peas. One night (or weekend) it was left "open" where any logged in Pea could read it.
Wasn't that around the same time as "HOF-gate" and the cheating, (or rather pre-selected winners) for CK magazine?

Sandy, if I remember correctly, the Garden Girl Board was always open at the time, they just didn't have it connected to the main index, so it was invisible unless you had the link. Some anonymous Garden Girl shared the link to the thread discussing Cindy with her, the link was shared at NSBR, then we all went over and looked around, chaos and uproar ensued, and then all-of-a-sudden it became closed. That was just one of the many incidents between NSBR and management that probably led to them slamming the boards down with a "don't let the door hit you on the way out!"

HOW DARE the peas get upset about private bashing and react in a totally normal and completely human way!

I used to sell shoes 20 years ago. One day, a store down the street went out of business. They closed over night. I believe the employees found out when they showed up for work in the morning and found a note on the door. I was talking to my boss about what a shitty thing it was to do to their employees.
He told me it was a smart business move. I was shocked.
He said, if you know you are going out of business you want to stream line things as you get towards the end. He added that if your employees know that you will be closing, they will start looking for other jobs. If they get one, they'll take it and leave. Apparently, you don't want to be in the position of needing temporary help when you are going out of business as no one will apply, potentially ending your revenue before you are ready to do so.
I definitely took note. I knew that if his business ever tanked, that was going to be how I lost my job.
and I still think it's a crappy thing to do....

My boyfriend was Director of Operations for a chain of Hallmark stores. Hallmark generally writes all of their leases to end February 28th to take you through your high seasons (Christmas and Valentine's Day) before you close. The last store he closed before he left that chain everyone (including the store manager) got less than two weeks notice of the closure. They were all told February 15th that they were closing the 28th. No one in the chain knew except BF and the owner. Two weeks is better than no notice, but it still seems pretty shitty. ~dawn

Was it ever determined how it was 'left open"?
