Ds19 likes to tailgate during his break at college. By tailgating, I mean he puts a lounge chair in the bed of the truck and hangs out listening to music on his iPhone. Any ideas for gifts? It’s getting too cold for him to do it much longer, but when spring comes I’m sure he will be right back out there.
I looked on amazon and all I got was stuff for the typical group tailgating, barbecue etc.
ETA He hangs out by himself in the back of the truck. He goes to community college and gets an hour or two break between classes some days.

A very large sheet of plastic so that he can turn the bed of his truck into a pool?

A little cooler. A portable charger for that iphone. A bluetooth speaker. Something like this bedside caddy to hang over the lounge chair side? (I picked that one because it looks like it might secure through loops with velcro instead of sliding into the mattress.)

A blow up rectangle pool would fit.

Well you can buy a very small hot tub. Coleman makes them.
A small artificial Christmas tree?
Seasonal stuff to decorate with?

A Yeti cooler would be the bomb! Yeti also makes some really nice tumblers and beer coolies. Expensive but worth it. A portable grill is also a nice gift. I have a Coleman that uses small gas tanks. A nice Bluetooth speaker would also be great. Bose makes a chargeable one that is very cool. There are also portable picnic tables on the market that fold up flat.
When you say tailgate, is it for ballgames or just hanging out with his buddies in the back of the truck?

Does he need a better chair? I will say that making the bed of the truck too comfortable might take by e quirkiness out of what he is doing. College kids like being quirky.

And this manchild of mine thrives on being quirky! A new chair is a good idea. He’s using an old, old lounger we keep by the pool. I had bought dh a really nice lounger during our camping days. I offered it to ds but I think it was too bulky. I’ll look for something new that will take as little space as what he’s using.

Would he want a sleeping bag to zip into for warmth? He is going into the cold winter. Then again, these kids don’t wear coats.

The way you describe what he's doing I don't think I would spend too much money on this. I'd be leery of evening replacing the chair. I probably have the perfect one in my garage - one of the old fold up loungers with the arms. I'd maybe just buy one of those little Playmate coolers and fill it with snacks and pair it with some of his favorite beverages. If you wanted to get something a little nicer to go with it I'd maybe buy a Yeti Colster. It costs about $25. I got one for a gift and I love it.

That is so cool! A wee bit out of my price range this year. There’s something else he has in mind for his main gift. I’ll have to keep it in mind for next year.
