like now...when you can't look away because can't believe what is happening (train wreck) and you are afraid to look away as you want to be prepared for the previously less likely/unheard of disasters in the making.

Rachel Maddow MSNBC... “A single source familiar with the meeting tells us: Surprise meeting tonight between Deputy Atty General Rod Rosenstein and House Speaker Paul Ryan was requested by Rosenstein to discuss matters related to Congressman Devin Nunes and the Russia investigation.” Interesting. Whoaa......... That could be big! I was thinking that Mueller may have things that he and DOJ do not want to share. ETA: ROSENSTEIN BRIEFS RYAN ON RUSSIA PROBE The Hill: “Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray met with Speaker Paul Ryan on Wednesday about the House Russia investigation, a GOP aide confirmed. Rosenstein, escorted by his security detail, walked by a number of reporters who were staking out budget negotiations between top White House officials and top congressional leaders. The meeting in the Speaker’s office came at the request of Rosenstein and Wray, the aide said. ‘Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein and FBI Director Wray asked to meet with the speaker and we accommodated the request,’ Ryan spokeswoman AshLee Strong said in an email. ‘I’d refer you to their offices for anything further.’ No other information about the meeting and what was discussed was immediately made known. The Wednesday meeting in the Capitol comes amid an intense feud between House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) and the Department of Justice (DOJ).” www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/01/03/bannon-gets-company-in-his-misery.html

Not only is it true its kind of funny.

They just don't know it yet. Will get a rude awakening when they do their taxes for 2018. And after Ryan gets done with entitlements.

Before Trump was "elected", I read up on Trump's past. I remember hearing enough NY stories that made me detest him in the 80's, but after days of reading, Felix Sater seemed to be the key to Trump's REAL Russian mafia ties. If he is cooperating with Mueller, then I'm THRILLED and hope that this will progress quickly.

Deputy AG, FBI director make unannounced visit to Paul Ryan's office www.politico.com/story/2018/01/03/ryan-rosenstein-wray-fbi-justice-322618"Rosenstein was spotted entering Ryan's office, and a spokesman for the speaker confirmed that Rosenstein and Wray had requested the meeting. A second person familiar with the meeting said it was related to a document request issued over the summer by House intelligence committee chairman Devin Nunes. Nunes (R-Calif) has mounted an aggressive push — with the threat of contempt citations for members of the FBI and Justice Department — to glean more information about how the FBI handled a disputed dossier alleging illicit ties between President Donald Trump and the Kremlin. " Here's hoping they laid out for Paulie that the whole fetid, putrid lot of them are about to be indicted on money laundering and blackmail.

Chuck Grassley...
“Law enforcement shld NOT be independent of constitutional oversight. Like the military, FBI/DOJ accountability to ELECTED leaders is essential for liberty. We are ACCOUNTABLE to the PEOPLE in our representative govt. Hoover FBI was unaccountable/did great harm w abuses of power”
prompted this response from Bharara...
“Correct. But law enforcement SHOULD be independent of political interference. And presidential meddling. ELECTED leaders are not to direct whom to prosecute and whom to protect. As the Chairman well knows.”
We really are doomed.

“As Americans, you need identification, sometimes in a very strong and accurate form, for almost everything you do.....except when it comes to the most important thing, VOTING for the people that run your country. Push hard for Voter Identification!”
Not true. The last time I had to show my ID was three years ago when I flew to NY.
Having said that if individual states feel one must have a specific type of photo ID to vote then it’s up to the officials in that state to make sure all the individuals in that state have the means to get the ID. That means the cost of and accessibility to . And not doing what I read was happening in one state where they were closing the local DMV offices in areas with large African Americans populations.

“Many mostly Democrat States refused to hand over data from the 2016 Election to the Commission On Voter Fraud. They fought hard that the Commission not see their records or methods because they know that many people are voting illegally. System is rigged, must go to Voter I.D.”
How about your administration show this same concern about safeguarding our elections from meddling by outside sources say like the Russians.
I read, and I don’t know if true, that in president tiny hands written daily intelligence briefing they leave out any reference to Russia meddling in the election cause he gets mad.

“NEW this am: Trump attorneys send cease-and-desist letter this morning to Wolff and book publisher @henryholt demanding they stop publication and issue an apology to @realdonaldtrump for defamatory statements made thus far.”
Prompted this response from Benjamin Witties.
Color me skeptical that Trump will actually sue either Bannon on Wolff. Remember that they will get discovery if he does.”

“I'm confused by talk of WH nondisclosure agreements. Aside from classified info, I haven't heard of anything like that in govt. It's contrary to transparency, 1A, Congressional oversight, whistleblowing, investigations/audits, etc. Does the WH grasp any concept of public service?”

From from Newsweek...
“There is evidence Trump campaign committed "crimes," says House Intel Democrat bit.ly/2EWgovk”
and this from Alyssa Milano...
“The founders of Fusion GPS said they described for lawmakers a "yearlong effort to decipher Mr. Trump's complex business past" and troubling evidence of relationships with "dubious Russians."
Sign the petition to get these transcripts released!”
What I think will be found is the trump family, through its businesses, will be found to be complicit in money laundrying for Russian Oligarchs in order to get the funding he needed to prop up his “successful” businesses.
And if true, it may have come to light before the election if the “left leaning” media had not been so fixated on Hillary’s email and the trump side show created by his outlandish comments. Unlike almost every other person running for public office, especially for president, trump was never really “vetted”.
There is no question trump is hiding something and I think it’s money laundering and possible blackmail rather than collusion.
And if I’m right and this does come to light I bet anything trump will claim as President he can’t be held responsible for any of it.

Here is a good description of Discovery in a Law suit from FindLaw. It actually may be more than you were looking for. But it’s worth a look IMO. I wasn’t sure what it meant but knew people seemed to get all excited When it came to law suits against someone others believe are hiding something. link

“MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
And Paul Waldman scenario leading up to the tweet....
“As the president screams and throws things against the wall, a quick-thinking aide grabs Trump's phone and taps out a short message.
"Here sir! Click 'Tweet'! It'll make you feel better!"
Panting heavily, Trump does as he's told, and calm is restored - for now.”
Its funny but the sad part is there could be some truth to it.

My party used to care about a lot of things that no longer seem convenient: fiscal probity, debt, deficits, the size and scope of government, the rule of law, character, dignity, and principle. But we *do* get a fake news award ceremony on Monday, so that's a good trade, right?

Alayna Treene 1 hr ago Bannon goes back to praising TrumpFollowing the fallout from Steve Bannon's explosive quotes in Michael Wolff's forthcoming book "Fire and Fury" — including a scathing statement by President Trump — Bannon assured listeners on his morning radio show Thursday that he still supports the president: "Nothing will ever come between us and President Trump and his agenda ... There's nobody we think higher of than President Trump, and the agenda, so let's not let the left wing media stir that up." — Steve Bannon on Breitbart radio
On Wednesday night, speaking on Breitbart News Tonight on Sirius XM radio, Bannon reiterated his praise: "The president of the United States is a great man. You know I support him day in and day out." The backdrop: Trump is outraged with the Bannon remarks, and one of his lawyers said legal action against the president's former chief strategist is "imminent." He also sent Bannon a five-page cease-and-desist letter ordering him to retain any relevant texts and emails. www.axios.com/despite-scathing-statement-bannon-praises-trump-2522380514.html?utm_source=sidebarDid he cave and cancel his book?!?!?!?!

He's an opportunist who thought he was smarter than Trump (and likely is), but Trump washed his hands of him, so now he's groveling. This group will eat their young to claim victory. Sick what is 'running' the country.

just to be clear, I don't actually 'like' what you say about the group eating their young (I hate that this is what our political system has become), but I do AGREE with that analysis and agree that I'm disgusted with it.

Greg Sargent - Washington Post..
“Politico reports today that a number of lawmakers met with a Yale psychiatrist in December to receive a briefing on her view of President Trump’s mental state.
“He’s going to unravel, and we’re already seeing the signs,” the psychiatrist, Dr. Bandy Lee, says. “Trump is going to get worse and will become uncontainable with the pressures of the presidency.”
The meeting, Politico notes, was attended almost exclusively by Democratic lawmakers.
Only one Republican came, and he remains unnamed.”
Something to ponder...
