Manu Raju.
“McConnell steps back from Roy Moore criticism. Asked if Moore should be in the Senate, McConnell says on ABC: "I'm going to let the people of Alabama decide."
I knew just knew that if Moore was/is elected the McConnell led Senate wouldn’t expel or refuse to seat Moore. And you can kill that idea that if Moore won he would be replaced by another Republican. This is true hypocrisy and you watch. The Republicans will find some way to blame the Democrats for not expelling Moore.

Josh Rogin....
“Pompeo says Trump’s tweets have helped the CIA because they have learned command and control and decision making of other countries by watching their response to Trump’s tweets. Really. #RNDF #RNDF2017”
And this who trump reportedly wants as Secretary of State.
It’s taken me awhile to get to this point because up until today I was unhappy with the 61m registered voters who didn’t vote. But now it’s screw you trump voters. You and you alone got us into this mess with your vote. And when this country tanks and it will tank the people solely responsible for it are the ones who voted for trump. So do us a big favor when you start to feel the pain that is coming keep it to yourself because now we really don’t care what you think. Anyone who thought it was a good idea to vote for trump, despite the warnings, doesn’t deserve a say in the running of this country. IMO.
It appears I may be a little grumpy today.

I know it's par for the course, but I am so sick of non-committal non-answers from politicians. Never a simple yes or no. Always somewhere in between in the maybe-zone so they can spin it or change opinion depending on future happenings.

Because the lawyer is trying to claim that dt did not know, was the lawyer's mistake. Because knowing would be obstruction as stated above.Do I believe the lawyer...... UMmm, NO!! But couldn't the lawyer then be disbarred if he knew that Flynn lied to the Feds and he knew trump tried to cover it up? Could be, but I think the lawyer is saying he made a mistake including FBI in the tweet......

Apparently there is something called “goat yoga” and for some reason DC banned it. Which prompted this from Paul Waldman....
“The left and the right both have their extremists. But I'll take a harmless idiot doing goat yoga over an AR-15-toting neo-Nazi any day of the week.”

After praising the “terrific job” CHIP has done for families who need help, he immediately added, “ I have a rough time wanting to spend billions and billions and trillions of dollars to help people who won’t help themselves – won’t lift a finger – and expect the federal government to do everything.”Hnag on, isn't he talking about a CHILDRENS HEALTH Program here? What exactly are children supposed to be doing? Should they be out there earning an income, so they get health benefits? Yes, children, but I guess he's talking about the working poor parents.

Yes, children, but I guess he's talking about the working poor parents. Oh, I know. It just really gets to me that these guys can't eccept that there are people out there who work their butts off and are still poor. I know there are a few members of my family who fall into this category. Fortunately, they don't live in the US and so have reasonable health care coverage for themselves and their children. My niece will have major heart surgery this week, through the Australian public system, and it won't send my brother bankrupt for her to be healthy again.

Trump lawyer: Flynn tweet ‘my mistake’ BY BRETT SAMUELS - 12/03/17 12:52 PM EST President Trump’s personal lawyer said on Sunday that it was “[his] mistake” that the president sent out a tweet about firing former national security adviser Michael Flynn, prompting speculation that it showed evidence of obstruction of justice. “I’m out of the tweeting business. I did not mean to break news,” attorney John Dowd told Axios. Flynn pleaded guilty on Friday to lying to federal investigators about his conversations during the presidential transition with the Russian ambassador to the U.S. about sanctions related to the Kremlin’s election interference. "I had to fire General Flynn because he lied to the Vice President and the FBI. He has pled guilty to those lies," Trump tweeted on Saturday. "It is a shame because his actions during the transition were lawful. There was nothing to hide!" he added. The tweet caused shockwaves, as legal experts suggested that if Trump knew that Flynn had lied to the FBI and then asked James Comey to drop the investigation, as the former FBI director has testified to Congress, it could amount to obstruction of justice. The Washington Post reported Saturday that Dowd had drafted the tweet for Trump.
Dowd told Axios on Sunday that the point of the tweet “was entirely correct.”"It's just very sad. I don't know why the guy lied. He didn't need to," he added. Trump in February said he fired Flynn because he lied to the vice president — but did not mention anything related to what the national security adviser told the FBI.thehill.com/homenews/administration/363005-trump-lawyer-flynn-tweet-my-mistakeGot it. Lawyer says he DRAFTED it. Soooooooooo, dt just copied it and did not REMEMBER what he had said not so long ago. I have said it before 'if you tell the truth, you don't have to try remember to what you said before!' "The point of the tweet "was entirely correct" .. um ok?!?!? " From a lawyer twisted words? Can I try that too?

“To make their "math" work, GOP assuming a 3.9% annual growth rate for 10 years.
Has never happened in history.
This is 0.7% higher than average from 1947-2017.
But yah...let's bet the future of America, and our ability to avoid a debt-interest death spiral, on those numbers.”

Bush ethics lawyer: Trump lawyer should be disbarred if he wrote Flynn firing tweetBY JACQUELINE THOMSEN - 12/03/17 04:43 PM EST The top ethics lawyer in President George W. Bush’s administration said that President Trump’s lawyer should be disbarred if he wrote Trump’s tweet suggesting the president knew Michael Flynn had lied to the FBI. “A lawyer who writes a Tweet like that incriminating a client should be disbarred. He can tell Mueller he wrote it,” Richard Painter tweetedTrump’s personal lawyer John Dowd has said that he wrote a tweet Trump sent Saturday. The tweet claimed Trump knew before he fired his former national security adviser that Flynn lied to FBI agents about his contacts with Trump officials."I had to fire General Flynn because he lied to the Vice President and the FBI. He has pled guilty to those lies," Trump tweeted on Saturday. Dowd said that he had written the tweet and that it was “my mistake.” “I’m out of the tweeting business. I did not mean to break news,” Dowd told Axios. “I think not having the estate tax recognizes the people that are investing,” Grassley said, “as opposed to those that are just spending every darn penny they have, whether it’s on booze or women or movies.”
Working kind of hard there Grassley trying justify this particular tax cut.
Ah Paul Waldman has the best response I think...
“So for the record, if you have less than $5.5 million in assets when you die, the GOP thinks your life was a contemptible waste.”

Just a question:
Doesn't the money that is spent on "booze and women and movies" go back into the economy? Does it not pay the wages of the people who work in liquor stores and restaurants/bars and movie theatres? And don't THOSE people squander their money on surviving? And pay taxes?
And I am sure these people who are spending "all their money" are also investing in other frivolous things like rent and groceries and utilities. And THAT money is going directly into the economy as well. In fact, no one would be "investing" if they didn't think there would be a return on that investment--as in other people buying their products, using their services, whatever...

“Reposting as a thread: FBIAA President Thomas O’Connor (@tfoconnor83) issued the following statement today: (1/3)”
“(2/3) “Every day, FBI Special Agents put their lives on the line to protect the American public from national security and criminal threats. Agents perform these duties with unwavering integrity and professionalism and a focus on complying with the law and the Constitution.”
“(3/3) ”This is why the FBI continues to be the premier law enforcement agency in the world. FBI Agents are dedicated to their mission; suggesting otherwise is simply false.”
This was in response to president tiny hands tweet
“After years of Comey, with the phony and dishonest Clinton investigation (and more), running the FBI, its reputation is in Tatters - worst in History! But fear not, we will bring it back to greatness.”
What a jerk trump is.

"I think he's a kook. I think he's crazy. I think he's unfit for office." -- Sen. Lindsey Graham on Trump, Feb 2016
"What concerns me about the American press is this endless, endless attempt to label the guy some kind of kook not fit to be president." -- Sen. Graham, last week“
I’m curious what exactly has trump done in the time that he has been in office that would change Graham’s opinion? Anybody?

I think the rest of the world sees America going to hell in a handbasket if Trump isn't reigned in asap.
With the effects of Brexit on the UK and Trump's damage to America, I think the world is going to be a very different place in 10 yrs time.

His Tweets this morning endorsed Moore. I'm not surprised by Trump living down to my expectations, but I am surprised that more people aren't coming to their senses.
Asking for a friend: at what point do you write off family who are still firmly in the pro-Trump camp?

Asking for a friend: at what point do you write off family who are still firmly in the pro-Trump camp? I can sympathize with you. As I've said, my dh and parents are pro-Trump. And so are my father and mother-in law. I barely speak to them but MIL will pipe up on Facebook now and again if I post something anti-Trump. She's married to a bullying narcissist so I just roll my eyes and move on. I don't engage. My IL's opinions mean nothing to me at this point. My dh and parents, otoh, I love them. Since Trump was elected I have had to remind dh that we don't talk politics. We never did for the 8 years Obama was in office and I'm not about to change that now. He's entitled to his opinion and I am mine. We respect the fact that we are on opposite ends and always have been. It disturbs me that dh isn't clued in to how dangerous Trump is, but I am not going to be the one to tell him. The truth will come out in the end. It always does. As for my parents, I don't talk politics with them either. My mother will still get annoyed and triggered if something comes up about Trump but I bite the hell out of my tongue. It's just not worth it. I value my relationship with my parents and dh too much to let some crazy, deranged, narcissistic, delusional idiot come between us. I have to keep reminding myself that the truth will come out. When that happens I will just smirk and move on.
