@elyanef, cute pocket page! I like to use them for heavy photo events but think they are way more work to do. You did a really wonderful job. Thank you! I am shocked that it is harder than I thought, too! I completed another one yesterday and would love some tips from y'all...like have you found a good ratio of photos to cards? I'm going to need to order some more pictures before I can do much more. The album I was just working on this weekend is a 6x8, and though I bought a bunch of pocket pages for it, I found I didn't use too many. Since my book was chronological (and photo heavy,) I found that it was rare that I could match up the grid configuration on the A side with that on the B side (edited because I explained myself badly: when I can get the front of a pocket page to work, I have trouble filling the back side,) so I ended up using mostly the 6x8s with no pockets so I could just do what I wanted. I agree with Lisa, @elaynef , your page came out really cute! I'll be working on my album for awhile to come. I was able to get most of the photos sorted into pockets before I ran out of the bigger sleeves. But I want to make it all cute, like those December Daily albums, so I still need to make all the fun stuff like tags and inserts, and play with stickers. And I haven't even started the journaling! No rush though since no one will be seeing it until next Hanukkah. Everyone, have a good week. nylene , keep telling us good news about Steve.

Love your pages, nylene. I hope Steve's eyesight continues to improve. Glad you enjoyed your crop, msliz, and got to play with some Peas! I usually see my LO's as natural 2 page spreads, and when I work with PL page protectors I often insert a traditional full page in between two different page styles. Somehow it bothers me to have A design on the left and B on the right, even though I often mix it up a bit between facing pages on full 12x12 LO's. Yes, @elaynef, I find the PL style harder to do than a full page LO. I miss the freedom of overlapping photos and using different sizes on a page. I also have trouble with the orientation of some of the cards, getting them to work with the orientation of the slots in the protector and those of my photos. I don't think there is a magic ratio of photos to cards, just what is pleasing to your eye. I have seen pages posted that are all photos and some that have one or two with the rest cards or pp. Some use embellishments either on the cards or on top of the page protector; some are completely flat. The page you shared with us is lovely, so I don't think you will need a lot of help in that department. I hope you get some time to play this week, LisaDV. Adding snow removal to your normal busy schedule does not give you much free time or energy, but at some point you need to recharge your batteries, and I suspect you do that through creativity. Hope you can share the page you completed and can complete and share the one on your desk. I love to see your work. Thanks for all the help with my Silhouette, scrapincin. I am gradually getting it to do what I want it to do. Staying with pretty smooth, light cs for now, using the 3 setting. Was happy to find out that it cut some metallic pp well with that setting, too. Have also learned to KISS (Keep it simple, Stupid!) Duh... Straight lines cut much more easily that curvy ones. Did the title on this LO. The smaller word had letters that were WAY too fine, and the cs had been inked, so it came apart as I took it off the mat, but I was able to salvage it. Happy family by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Over the weekend, I also finished another simple double pager. Not a lot of extras, no Silhouette. Just let the papers step up and do their job. I didn't take the photos. My ddil from the BC coast sent them to me New Years' Eve. Not Quite by Gramma Dee, on Flickr I have another page ready to be assembled. Have cut and matted the photo and pp, and cut the pieces I wanted to cut with the Silhouette. Just decided it needed a little sumpin' sumpin' before I put it together, so applied a little wet medium and now I need to wait for it to dry before I finish it. I am thinking that this will be it for my crafty binge for awhile. We are flying out to see ds & family this upcoming weekend, and my goal is to get Christmas put away before we go. Will see how that works out for me. I had actually planned to start that today, but instead I am playing around with my Silhouette, chatting on line, and now I need to drive into town to pick up a package of dies I ordered a week or so ago... As the song says, "Tomorrow, Tomorrow..."

I love seeing you in a scrappy mood, scrapincin! Can't wait to see what you are working on. What would we all do without your Silhouette machine input on this thread. I hope you are still feeling well. grammadee, I love the way you have dived in and learned so much about your new toy. Isn't it fun. I love the title on your Family page, but I know how hard it is to cut those tiny thin connections between letters. You did great. Have a safe trip and enjoy the visit with your family. msliz, your explanation of PL-type scrapping is exactly the problems I run into when I try to do it. I am anxious to see what you have done so far. @elaynef, I wish I could give you suggestions for # of cards to photos in pocket pages, but I am still just learning. Share your 2nd page. The first one is really nice. LisaDV, I hope you get some scrappy time along with everything else you are doing. That much snow causes problems of its own! I'm just glad your car is fixed. I asked Steve if he was seeing better today, but he didn't think so. Last time this happened it took 2 weeks to reabsorb, so I can't be impatient. I took him to a tool store today and laughed at a HUGE sign behind the counter that said, We are not responsible for marital problems caused by the buying of tools at Timberline." He asked me what it said as we walked out the door. It really made my heart sink. He really is not seeing much right now. We hope that the bleeder will seal and the blood with reabsorb in the next 2 weeks. Waving at kellyr21, justjac, stansgal, and other Pokeys we haven't seen in a while. Have a great week.

Hey everyone. I left some love in the gallery for grammadee and nylene. Great pages, ladies. @elaynef I solved the back of the pocket problem by doing digital Project Life and then printing them out. I can do whatever layout I like and put them in a regular 12x12 protector. I survived wallpaper removal. We had DH's family and a couple friends help on Saturday and we actually got all the wallpaper off. Sunday just DH's parents were available to help. We got about half the walls scrubbed so they are ready to be patched and painted. I'm hoping for a quick turnover time, but DH is less optimistic and thinking if it sells by the end of 2018 at all he will be happy. I managed to fit in time to make five birthday cards, but I can't share them because I used the same basic design for all of them and grammadee is getting one of them! We're heading to yoga class tonight. I have a few muscles I need to stretch out after this weekend! Have a great week.

Happy Tuesday, Pokeys! I need to do laundry and some organizing stuff by phone, so not sure if I will get to Operation Christmas Takedown again! Will have to see. Whatever I end up doing, it does NOT look like today will be very crafty! Here is the calendar page I started yesterday and let dry overnight then assembled. I thought the photo of Jacob skating on the home made pond would be great for a January theme. 19 January by Gramma Dee, on Flickr While I was there, ds was busy flooding the patio just outside their walkout exit to the back yard. He was using a hose hooked up to the hot water tank and a spray nozzle he was holding out through the near ground level window. (Had already built the frame and lined it with a plastic hockey surface). Just after New Years, ddil sent a couple of videos of the boys skating on the home made rink, and on Saturday she sent me some stills to print. Okay, off to do more mundane things. Have a terrific Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday ladies!!! I have been busy in full Spring cleaning and bedroom decorating mode. I have gotten rid of stuff and donated some and it feels good. It is funny when you clean and organize and can't tell you did anything. LOL! But when I get done it will be worth it. THe decorations are coming along. Since we live in an apartment we have some limits but I found several adhesive wall strips for my frames and curtain rods. I am going with white so then throughout the year, I can just change the throw pillows and other minor items to add my favorite colors. So I hope to be finish with this room by the weekend. Then I will more on the the living room. ANybody else still got Christmas stuff up? MEEEEEE!
On my blog, I posted some pictures of two mini album cards I made for Christmas. Kelly's Mini Albums I hope to share a few more cards etc over there and here.
justjac- HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! I hope you had fun. Girl, when you mentioned -35 below I can't even imagine being in that weather. Hang in there and saty warm.
nylene- Hugs to you. You are so brave and strong and loving to support your dh the way you do. I know it isn't easy for you either. That's why I am sending you a hug. I hope his sight continues to improve.
scrapincin- Yes, that Saints/Viking game was crazy!!! I wasn't watching it and then at the end I came in the living room to sit while Ron watched. Just then is when that spectacular play happened! We were shocked! SO exciting!
msliz- Yes, staring the new year cleaning does feel good. I feel like its turning a new page in book. For years, our bedroom hasn't been the way I wanted it but finally I had the ideas and the money to change it up. I want it to feel like a restful and romantic place.
LisaDV- Waving hi to you and your farm animals. How are they doing? I know you all will be glad when Spring comes.
grammadee- That homemade ice skating rink is too cute. Also, you pages are nice. I gotta go the gallery and get a closer look.
@elaynef- Waving hi to you too.

Oh, I forgot to tell you all I started my art class again last week. So glad to be back into art again. Over the holidays, while I was sick I started practicing drawing again. For those of youwho don't know, I started learning to draw a few years back. nylene and scrapincin where there when I started and seen how dramatically I progressed. I just started with my dh's animation drawing book and then went from there.
So, I saw these African head wraps or turbans online. They were so fabulous and dramatic. I wanted to try to draw one I saw in a picture. Plus it was fun practicing drawing a face. I always s have problems with the eyes. These are ok but next time I would like them to be a little closer.

Good morning, Ladies. Your drawing is amazing, kellyr21. Faces are really hard, but I think you nailed it! I always struggle with shading and I envy you for being able to do that so well. I hope Steve's eyes improve more every day, nylene. The sign in the store was really funny. Too bad he couldn't read it yet. And I was wondering has anyone heard from maribeth at all? Haven't seen her on this board. Has anyone been in touch with her through email or PM's on other boards? I really AM going to put some Christmas stuff away today. But the skating photos along with the scraps from the calendar page were calling me from the top of the pile on my counter this morning, so I decided to put together a couple of quick pages first. Still haven't done the journaling b/c the hand written title has to dry first, but thought I would share it now. I was tempted to go to the Silhouette and look for images or to cut my title, but this was simpler for me. Hey, when you write your titles, you don't even have to find stickers let alone cut files! sk8tr boyz by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Filling side B after completing side A was a nightmare. Although I found the whole filling it time consuming and tedious with pocket pages. I could see if you were only using 1 style of pocket page over and over that it becoming second nature. But, of course, I don't. To combat that horrid feeling, I have started my whole pocket page process at the photo editing step. I have my notes and I mark the page protector style, then the photos (& which sizes and orientation of journaling card). I edit my photos right then. I also always choose the back side elements too. It works for me because once I have my photos in hand I just want to tell the story with pretty paper and embellishments. Also, if you have the fuse tool (or you could sew the opening closed) shaker pockets are really cute and works for both sides.

grammadee, your pages are all wonderful. You did a fabulous job with the silhouette titles and I love seeing all the photos on Happy family. I laughed out loud at the "Not Quite the white Christmas I was dreaming of" title. Those pages are perfect! Great paper, great icicles, fabulous title. Your January calendar page is beautiful. And that's so cool that they built their own skating area. Sk8rboyz is also amazing. I'm always so envious of your control on liquid mediums like nuvo drops for writing. When I try it, it always just looks like a mess. I hope you have your Christmas things put away, and unlike me, I hope you didn't forget anything. There is still a Christmas bauble hanging from my dh's mounted fish's mouth. The kids put it there this year and it's usually not, so I keep forgetting about it until I see it. Enjoy your weekend. nylene, I feel for you. I know my heart would sink if my dh wasn't seeing well. But as you said, we have to give our bodies time to heal. Hopefully, he's doing a bit better everyday, even though sometimes when you're in it, you can't see it. Praying he gets better quickly. @elaynef, how are you doing? love the meme. DS does an on-line school. His math teacher is from TX. An email went out the other day that her internet was down due to ice storm. Yesterday morning, the temperature here was warmer than southern Illinois and Austin, TX. kellyr21, wow! that drawing is amazing! I'm so glad you are back into drawing. I think your face is fantastic. They are hard. It's going to be 32F today. I'm so excited. Yesterday it was 23F and felt wonderful. So we'll have another melt off over the next couple of days. The snow plowed pile is already just a small mound with last weeks melt off. I was thinking we were going to have a mountain by seasons end. So yay! Speaking of mounds, I haven't been folding my laundry as it's come out of the dryer for the last few weeks, so I need to go get that all folded and put away today. I'm taking the comforters to the laundry mat tomorrow, so I need baskets to put it in. If I don't come back the laundry monster probably tackled me.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes. DH and his family took me out for supper and then we had cake at my MIL's house. I was quite spoiled. grammadee gave me a beautiful purple winter butterfly kit which sounds funny but is beautiful. DH got me a beautiful necklace made by a local artist. I will post a photo later. MIL got me a great Weekender bag that I've had my eye on. Another friend got me some brush markers and bath bombs. My people know me so well! I think gifts is one of my love languages. I will have to read that book. Have any of you read it? kellyr21 we have had crazy temperature swings. We are now around 32F or 0C. Our sidewalk is icy because all the snow melted off our roof. Your sketch is beautiful! LisaDV I had laundry on my Wednesday list in my new bullet journal and it got moved to Friday. Good luck with yours! grammadee I love your page. My new layered snowflake die would have worked perfectly! We need to get together sometime soon. I have not been crafty at all this month other than making birthday cards. However LOAD is coming in February and I am very excited.

Good afternoon, Pokeys! I have arrived safe and sound at ds's home in Abbotsford. The girls are at school. Dgs has headed off to his university class followed by study hall. Ddil is at work. Ds is using my rental car to run some errands and volunteer at a hockey game. I am curled up on the couch with a specialty coffee enjoying the calm before the storm. 4 kids need to be taken 3 different places right after school, and we hope to grab supper together somewhere. I have my camera battery charged and ready! Like justjac says, we have had freakish weather moods lately. Last week we had -40 windchills. This week it was well above freezing. The drive to the city was completely uneventful. The threatened storm and freezing rain ignored us. Has anyone heard from LisaDV ? Hope that laundry monster didn't get her! hoping you gals can play along with 28-4-28 in February. Hopefully you will be able to use some of the challenges the hosts are cooking up for LOAD, justjac.

Happy Saturday! I have been on a cleaning freezy all week. I almost got our bedroom done and redecorated. Then started on my living/craft space. Still lots to do here but just taking it a little at a time. It felt good to purge some of my craft stuff too. So after all the cleaning it feels good today to take a break and rest.
Check our my blog. My Blog I have more of my Christmas cards/albums posted there. I will post a few pictures on our Flickr but the bulk with be at my blog.
scrapincin - Look great Cindy with your new apron on. What a sweet gift.
grammadee - Glad you made to your ds' and spending time with them. That weather you all are having to deal with is amazingly cold. I guess you get used to it. I just can't imagine having to got to school or work when it is that cold. Hang in there too justjac !
Waving hello to you all! Have a nice evening!

Hi everyone, I'm back and safe. The laundry monster almost had me, but I beat him in the end. bwahahaha. Don came home on Thursday evening. I've been very cautious this flu season. I know dd would not be able to handle the flu vaccine. As soon as anyone comes in from being out in public, they have to go straight to the bathroom and change clothes. (the virus can live on clothing for 13 hours). They have to wash their hands. Then any hard surface (which the virus can live on for 8 days) that followed them in gets either the lysol spray or cloth including cell phones, glasses, etc. I'm way serious, here!! Don does the routine, pulls out his laptop and I hand him the disinfecting cloth for it and his pen. Everything is A-OK. We go to bed, and he has the audacity to cough all night long. What. the What? The next morning, while telling him, no you can't kiss me. here take this (handing him an airborne) and telling him about his night time activity. He was shocked. Luckily, it appears to be a cold, but I have everyone on airborne and essential oil feet rubs. DD is still fighting the virus from earlier this month, which is just natural for her body to take longer, plus we traveled which prolongs her healing. Fun times. I hope every pokey stays flu free this flu season. justjac, I will be looking forward to viewing your pages either via instagram or in flickr for LOAD. You always do a fabulous job. grammadee, glad you arrived safe and had a bit of calm before the storm. I hope you get tons of wonderful photos to use. scrapincin, your page is super cute. and, What an adorable gift!!! kellyr21, congrats on finishing your bedroom. Snaps, Props, or whatever the hip kids say these days to mean "two thumbs up" on starting your living/craft area. We started cleaning on a storage closet on the 13th, and it's still not finished. But I've only been doing about a box a day. I did find many photo albums (the old magnetic kind of dh's from childhood through until we met - he really was a memory keeper) and so many of the newer kind with photo slots. So fun to the kids so small. I'll be going to your blog after I post this. Waving hi to all! Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

scrapincin, I love your page! I left a note on your blog, but I'm not sure it posted correctly. I know you have to approve it, but it seemed different this time when I hit enter. What an adorable apron they gave you. You are really looking good, by the way. kellyr21, I can't pull up your drawing in the gallery. Did you mark it to be on 2peas? I'll go check it out on your blog. I want to see those cards up close too. Congrats on getting you bedroom finished. That will make you feel so relaxed. LisaDV, I understand about the flu. I worry every time I go to school that I will come home with something that doesn't get washed off in time. So far so good here. We both had colds before Christmas but that's all. grammadee, I was hoping to do the 28-4-28 with you, only a bit slower but I can't seem to find time to pull things together. I will follow along and do what I can. You are so sweet to host this. BTW, I received a Christmas Card from maribeth and shot one back to her. She didn't say what's going on in life, so I hope she's just busy. I told her we missed her! Not a lot of change in Steve's eye, but it hasn't been 2 weeks yet. We will just take it a day at a time. He had some dermatological surgery on his face yesterday, so one cheek is all bandaged. I know he feels like he's falling apart but he's really healthy...except eyes and skin cancers. I need to go fix us something to eat. Waving to all you sweet Pokey Peas. You are such great friends!

Good Tuesday morning! After a very busy weekend, I returned home yesterday. Flew into Edmonton, printed my photos, did a few more city type errands, then drove home. Feeling a bit stodgy today, but otherwise okay. Not anything that a pot of coffee won't remediate... Hope your dh feels better, LisaDV and that the virus has not attacked everyone. I guess with your home schooling the kids, controlling the germs coming into the home must be a huge challenge. I don't think families are ever as sick as the first year a child goes into public school. I left some love for your page in the Gallery, scrapincin. What a lovely gift the kids gave you. And it's great to see YOU on your page! Hope your dh is doing well, as well, nylene and that his eyesight is coming back as the blood clears. Please excuse the language, but my dd says that we each have an "Itty Bitty Shitty Committee" nattering at us in our heads, telling us we are not good enough, that nothing is every going to get better, why try, etc. She says the challenge is to "Adjourn the meeting or the IBSC!" and just get on with doing what we do in the best way we know how. Your bedroom redecoration sounds great, kellyr21. It is wonderful that you use your creative strengths everywhere in your home. It must feed your mojo just walking through it. Love your cards. Such rich colours. I have some more steps in Operation Christmas Take Down to do, and won't get them all done today, but getting there... The goal is to celebrate dh's birthday Saturday here, so I need the house to be clean and tidy before people arrive for supper that evening. Later today, dh and I are going over to friends' to play cards, so I really should get going on OCT soon... But first, I want to set up another 28-4-28 thread. I really hope the Pokeys can join in for at least SOME of the fun. The challenges I have had the privilege of previewing look fun and open to all kinds of interpretation, so hopefully you'll find something that inspires you. No need to do a lot of prep: just when you see a challenge that might work with a page or card or other project you are working on or want to do, then use the challenge and share it in that challenge thread. And here, of course! I will link the new thread here when it is up.

Good Afternoon ladies! I figured I better stop by and let you know I am still here. I just have been doing some heavy cleaning and figured you weren't really interested in that! So today we will talk about this place! grammadee so glad to see you are back. We miss you and your wonderful sense of humor! I will give the 28-4-28 but not sure I will have something to scrap everyday. I love your DD's perspective on our problems. nylene- I am so glad to see you have posted. Otherwise I know you are swamped. Glad to hear that Steve's eyes are doing just a little which is better then nothing. Keeping both of you in my thoughts and prayers. LisaDV how is the busy bee? Sounds like you are trying really hard to keep away the germs. I give you a lot of credit for that when so many people are dying from this flu. There was woman here who worked for one of the tv stations 38 years old who died from it. kellyr21 you are up and at them I can see. Your cards and mini album were beautiful and I know your family members had to love them. I like GGrammadee bet your bedroom is beautiful! justjac Glad to see you made it thru the birthday! Happy Belated Birthday from me. Sorry I did not make it over to here for a few days. I know it had to be a lot of fun! Waving a big hello to everyone I didn't mention and hope to see or hear from you soon. Need to get back to my job I was doing in my craft room -just organizing my card making supplies! Trying to do a few things in my scrap room in small steps at a time. BBL

I had a huge long post written and knocked my mouse off the table. The whole thing disappeared! I'll try to remember everything. scrapincin , thank you for your nice comments here and on SB.com on my cards. They aren't stamped. I cheated and printed the sentiments and cut them out with dies. I envy your organized scraproom. I need to find time to do that. My problem is that if it's clean I have a compulsion to scrap, scrap, scrap and that messes it all up! grammadee , so glad you are back safe and sound. I don't think I could keep up all the travel that you do. You are a strong woman! I had to chuckle at your DD's IBSC philosophy of life. So true and so funny. LisaDV , I am hoping that all that Airborne and spray and cleaning has kept the flu germs away from you and the children. How is your husband? Was that night of coughing the beginning of something worse? I hope not. This is such a bad year for flu! justjac , I look forward to seeing all your LOAD layouts. You are so brave to tackle that challenge. Do you plan to play with grammadee and the 29-4-28 challenge too? kellyr21 , I can't find your drawing on your blog or in the gallery. I tried to comment on your blog but it kept asking me to click one of several names, like facebook, google, etc and I don't have accounts with those. I know I have commented before, so I don't know what to click. You know me and technology!! @elaynef and msliz , are you getting any scrapping done? I hope so. I'd like to see more of your work and pocket pages. I was up early this morning to take DH to Home Depot. This not being able to see is really cutting into his woodworking hobby. There is a tiny bit of improvement each day though and we are grateful for that. Cactus Encouragement Card by Nylene Budge, on Flickr I forgot to post the link to my cards yesterday. Here it is.

Happy Tuesday! Warm wishes to you all. Thanks for all the praise of my Christmas cards. They were fun to make. The cleaning continues here. I have this cubbie area in our bedroom that is the junk area. So today I got to tear through all that stuff and straighten it up. We have a limited storage area so we gotta use all these spaces. I got a new belt for my vacuum and was glad to use it again. But it still not working right. Grrrr! So maybe I can see why it isn't picking up.
Yes, finally getting my room the way I want is making me feel more relaxed and maybe I'll be more creative and productive.
LisaDV - Wow, after all that routine to prevent a cold/flu it got your dh anyways. So frustrating. I hope he feels better soon and the rest of you all stay well.
nylene - Yeah, I don't know why that Blogger was limiting your access to my blog comments. I don't get it. But that's ok. I posted the drawing in Flickr but not in Two Peas since it wasn't a lo or card. When you go there to Flickr just look under my name and you should see it. I love drawing and my art class on Fridays. I will share some of the art soon. Oh, I can imagine how frustrated your dh is with his limited vision. I hope he continues to get better.
grammadee - You are busy too getting ready for your dh's birthday. Are you making a cake or cooking anything special?
scrapincin- OMG, my dh's Eagles are going to the superbowl!!! LOL! He is so excited and nervous. I don't know if I can watch the game with him. Not sure if they can win over the Patriots but I hope it is at least fun and competitive. Prayers up for Ron! LOL!
Waving hi to you all and have a good night.

Nylene, so happy dh is having improvement....praying it speeds up! scrapincin, I had a big clean up day this week, too. We've had a guest for a week and he sleeps until noon. I have to get my chores done early, or I will loose energy and motivation, so I used that for an excuse to not do them for several days. What a cute apron and layout! grammadee, it makes my head spin to read about how busy you are, but we love hearing about it anyway! kellyr21, love your drawing and mini albums! Are you going to show us your lovely and relaxing bedroom? lisadv, hoping your family is better! So many here have flu, too. Our town escaped the snow and ice that froze the southern part of the state last week. I would like a little snow before winter is over, I'd like to go to the new hiking trail and get some pics. justjac, I am still working on those pocket pages. I placed another order yesterday...my 3rd one. Who thought PP would be so hard. Pretty sure these are my 1st and last. msliz, thanks for the encouragement on the PP. I can certainly see how 6x8 would be a lot easier! When I get through with the album I will choose some of my favorite pages to show y'all. I got "hired" as photographer at bible study this week! They were impressed when I showed up with my tripod! (they are easily impressed, I think, or just nice) They are making valentines for their parents. About half of the kids smiled for me. Some of them look miserable. I hope I can do some retakes next week as well as the absentees. If I got a pic of my kid looking as miserable as 2 cute little sisters were, I might not bring them back! It was their first time to come. I wish I could show you my favorite, but that would be a big NO NO, of course. I hope to work on the Grands albums while I wait for my latest order for the pocket pages. And I still have a lot of editing and ordering to do for the grands, too. Here is one in my order of the Tennessee River. My grandson took it..he has a bigger and fancier camera than even his grandfather!
