Well, LisaDV found her way out from under the pile of laundry and I have rid my living room of Christmas! I did what I do best: moved the mess to somewhere else, LOL. All of the decorations and the tree are now down in the basement, and about half packed away into their tubs &/or boxes. Still need to finish packing the bits & bobs up, and then stacking the tubs along the wall in the corner. And the living room furniture has been put back where it resides for the rest of the year. Dusting and vacuuming done. Just one coaster left behind, but that can go into its tub before they are all squared away in the basement. How about you, @elaynef? Have you come out to breathe after all that photo editing and PL experimentation? Those photography gigs are fun, aren't they? And not quite so scary if you can go back and do retakes. I love your dgs's photo! Bet you will have fun scrapping it! Would love to see a photo of your redone bedroom, kellyr21. Bet it is really pretty. Yes, my housecleaning has to do with dh's bd supper to be held here on Saturday. I plan to bake his cake tomorrow and then ice it on Saturday. Since I have already frozen the entre (it just needs to sit in the oven for a couple of hours) and dh is picking up salads from town, the cake is really all the fussing I need to do--besides shovelling out the mess in this house LOL. I managed to find time to make a couple of shaker cards. Still trying to discover the perfect, EASY way to put these together and have their insides stay inside. Larger things like sequins work best. The problem is I like to use beads and glitter and other tiny bits. I also do NOT need to start stocking up on anything else, and I really don't want to start collecting sequins in every colour combo. Anyway, here are my cards: a couple of shaker bd cards by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Hoping to get back into crafting next week, or certainly by February 1st. I am getting excited about 28-4-28, and glad to see so many of you expressing an interest in playing along.

Hi Pokeys, I ended up with shingles, so I've been doing as little as possible this past week. I love catching up on all your stories and seeing your projects, and I'm starting to think about grammadee's February challenge. Just trying to stay positive and get motivated, which isn't easy while my back feels like I've been stomped on by a big jerk wearing boots with cleats. But I'm trying!

Take it easy on yourself. I hope you start feeling better soon.

msliz So sorry to hear you have shingles. I have had them 3 times and they are not fun. Did you get an antiviral from your doctor or was it too long. I think you have to start them within 48 hours of their appearance. They are coming out with a new shingles shot but not sure when. Here's wishing you a quick recovery.

I did get the antiviral, and it helped, but it wasn't in the first 48 hours because I didn't know what it was at the start. I thought maybe it was a spider bite because it was just one spot for a few days. The doctor said they don't usually give the vaccine until age 60, so I have a ways to go before then. scrapincin, 3 times! That's awful. My craft table is almost cleared off, so I'm going to take out a layout that I've been working on in stages for way too long, and see if I can finally finish it up. I'm glad the weekend is here! What are your plans?

msliz, I hope you are feeling better now. That so stinks. grammadee, great shaker cards. It's only a couple of days until 28-4-28, so I'm sure you are excited and busy. nylene, how is Steve's vision? Is it getting better? Your cards are so cute. I laughed at the I'd endure the pain to hug you one. What a fantastic sentiment! My flu cleaning has been working. It was just a cold for DH. It wasn't even a "man" cold sized cold. So I'm definitely counting my blessings. @elaynef, Wow! that photo is amazing. I hope you are getting through your editing process. I need to do some, but have been putting it off. I ended up with 2 photos edited the other day before quitting. kellyr21, how's the art class going? stansgal & justjac, waving hello! I've just been busy with family and life. Never ending chores like cooking, dishes, laundry and topping it with all of the other stuff like school, other cleaning. I did just join Lynda.com. I have to go through their quickbook tutorials so I can take over DH's business bookkeeping. I still haven't even had time to go through them. Well, the never ending chores are beckoning as is a little girl. Have a great week.

Good Monday morning, Pokeys! I hope those antivirals have kicked that shingles out of your system, msliz. And I hope that you were able to get some crafting done after clearing off your table. There isn't a clear surface anywhere in here, so I think I will need to spend some time sorting a few things out before 28-4-28. I have a small iris container packed with photos, pp, cs, and some extras to take with me to the LSS on Thursday for a day of crafting there while my vehicle has some work done on it. The only thing remotely creative I did this weekend was cut a few pieces with my Silhouette to use on one of the LO's I want to put together there. Those diecuts are in a ziplock in the bin. The smaller ones--letters, etc--have already been run through my Xyron sticker maker and are still attached to the tape. Looking forward to Thursday when I can play all day and then have supper with justjac. Good luck learning the accounting program, LisaDV. I could never do that: not enough attention to detail. I think if you did a brain scan, you would find the left half of mine almost missing... Other than trying to get a handle on this room, nothing much planned for this week. The Scotties Tournament of Hearts (Canadian women's curling championship) is on TV all week. It is one sport that both dh and I enjoy watching, so I predict lots of TV time. Hope your dh's eyesight is continuing to improve, nylene, and that your health continues to improve, scrapincin. How is that vacation album coming, @elaynef? Have a great week, everyone!

Sorry to be absent. I have been under the weather all weekend. It's hard because DH can't drive to the store, to the Pharmacy, etc. so our daughter has been running him on errands. He feels like the eye is clearing, but much more slowly than last time. Still praying that it WILL clear.
I'll be back in a day or two. Hugs to all.

Hi Pokeys, I'm slowly finding my way back to health. I went all day today without any ibuprofen, when just a couple of days ago I was eating it like candy. I'm determined to go to my crop this Saturday, so I've been making up page kits for as many layouts as I can manage. I'm hoping to get some of the basic elements on the pages, and then I can add to them and finish them at home according to the different challenges during the month. nylene, I'm glad to read that Steve is seeing a little better. He must be very frustrated with how long it's taking. It can't be easy on either of you. (hugs) grammadee, your Thursday plans sound fantastic! Will justjac be able to join you at the LSS? LisaDV, I bet your house is looking great. Mine, on the other hand, looks like a tornado blew through. I've been doing the bare minimum for the last three weeks, and it shows. Waving hi to the rest of you and reminding you to get ready for the February challenges - only a few more days!
