So wait, Feinstein took it upon herself to release the transcript. HA, perfect political move since she's seeking re-election! And Grassley's acting like a nazi, like Trump. Hey, the left will do or say whatever works for the November wins!Like endorse a racist, homophobic pedophile? Wait, sorry, that was for tax cuts for corporations.

I'm reading the 'unraveling' linked in the post above mine-- this is one of the personal comments she makes in the course of her commentary:
(I mean, Jesus. If he isn't impeached after this, America is toast.)
sadly, I think we'd better start deciding whether we want butter, honey, or marmalade on our toast, because I can't see the Republicans EVER doing the right thing when it comes to this. He's their party's clueless patsy right now, and they're using him and his chaos for as long as they can.

Right or wrong I think the taxpayers pay for everything that the Secret Service touches, uses, housing etc. With other presidents assorted private citizens, businesses, communities benefited. The president should not have cash benefits for these things. 58/ Trump's golf courses are broke. (Tr. 299-300)

Hey, the left will do or say whatever works for the November wins! So what was Grassley's motivation for not releasing the transcript? (rhetorical question we all know the answer) Personally I believe she is a patriotic American. And it's going to take acts like this from other patriotic Americans to stop the destruction that is Trump. This x1000. But the saddest part is that Christopher Steel, a Brit, cared(s) more about our country than Grassley and Graham do. Itâs a travesty and they should be deeply ashamed.

Yes, Christopher Steele is more of a Patriot then some of these crooked politicians. (Grassley and graham)

JANUARY 10, 2018 U.S. SENATOR BEN CARDIN RELEASES REPORT DETAILING TWO DECADES OF PUTINâS ATTACKS ON DEMOCRACY, CALLING FOR POLICY CHANGES TO COUNTER KREMLIN THREAT AHEAD OF 2018, 2020 ELECTIONS
U.S. Remains Vulnerable to Russian Interference without Unequivocal Presidential Leadership, Learning Lessons from European Democracies
Top Foreign Relations Committee Democrat Makes Series of Recommendations to Counter Putinâs Asymmetric Arsenal, Bolster Defenses Ahead of Future U.S., European, Elections
WASHINGTON â A Senate Foreign Relations Committee Democratic staff report released Wednesday and commissioned by U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.), the Committeeâs ranking member, details Russian president Vladimir Putinâs nearly two decades-long assault on democratic institutions, universal values, and the rule of law across Europe and in his own country. The report comes one year after Senator Cardin introduced the Counteracting Russian Hostilities Act of 2017, which served as the basis for the sanctions package signed into law last August, and makes a series of recommendations to adequately bolster U.S. and European defenses and counter the growing Kremlin threat to democratic institutions.

What's heartbreaking is that Senator Cardin will be met with resistance on what should be a fucking no-brainer. Nothing partisan about the issue. But the GOP leadership will show us again that they are fine with Russian interference because it works in their favor.
Hate. Them.

CALLING FOR POLICY CHANGES TO COUNTER KREMLIN THREAT AHEAD OF 2018, 2020 ELECTIONS It's about time someone called for changes- I was beginning to wonder if they wanted to change ANYTHING before the next foreign attack election happened. What's heartbreaking is that Senator Cardin will be met with resistance on what should be a fucking no-brainer. Nothing partisan about the issue. But the GOP leadership will show us again that they are fine with Russian interference because it works in their favor. but sadly, I agree with this- nothing partisan about it at all, but it's another example of IOKIYAR.

The only reason he should meet with resistance is if the GOP leadership actually has NO brains. At this point, not hard to imagine. They've not been acting with the best interest of the country at heart at any rate. But so many are 'retiring' I have to wonder how many getting out because they're tired of so much winning, they're guilty or both.

âAs the extent of Russiaâs obvious meddling in the 2016 U.S. election continues to be investigated, it is imperative that the American people better understand the true scope and scale of Putinâs pattern of undermining democracy in Russia and across Europe. That is why I commissioned this report shortly after the 2016 election,â Senator Cardin said. âThis threat existed long before President Trump took office, and unless he takes action now, it will continue long after his administration. While President Trump stands practically idle, Mr. Putin continues to refine his asymmetric arsenal and look for future opportunities to disrupt governance and erode support for the democratic and international institutions that the United States and Europe have built over the last 70 years.
âPresident Trump must be clear-eyed about the Russian threat, take action to strengthen our governmentâs response and our institutions, and â as have other presidentâs in times of crisis â mobilize our country and work with an international coalition to counter the threat and assert our values,â Cardin continued.

wait... I'm probably way behind, here, but the unrolled thread says that Steele went to the FBI in Rome, got debriefed, learned someone from the Trump organization also had reservations about what was going on, and THEN, the NYTimes reported that the FBI looked into Trump/Russia and nothing was found. ?!?
So after the election, they took this same info to McCain in hopes that he would take it to the highest levels of the FBI, because they weren't even sure that Comey had heard about the allegations before. (which really WOULD explain an awful lot- she's absolutely right about that!) So who from the FBI didn't pass this info on, after they debriefed him in Rome?!? and why not?!?

I heard someone yesterday ask why would Trump "collude" with Russia if he didn't want to win the election in the first place? Maybe Because Russia needed to have someone in a position to lessen/remove sanctions that was already corrupt?

And why does he skate on every thing, or............ is he the ONE?
48/ Carter Page lost money with the Russians, was really mad about sanctions, and apparently had been an espionage suspect under investigation by the FBI FOR YEARS preceding the election. Jesus. (Tr. 240-242)
49/ And add to that: Fusion had reason to believe that Page had been offered business deals in exchange for being compromised. (Tr. 240-242)

And do you think every single liberal democrat voted for Hillary? I'm guessing NOT. And those liberal democrats that didn't vote for her, do you think they all of a sudden became conservative republicans? I'm guessing NOT. Yet you just cannot believe that a conservative didn't vote for Trump. And you also believe every conservative republican supports Trump. And you twist and turn and throw shit at the walls making up stuff to see what sticks. And when I ask you to show proof, actual real proof, you know something I said like Trump's the best, Trump can do no wrong, I LOVE Trump, this is what you come up with? Dear Lord.

The crazy thing to me is that SO MANY of the Republicans were very leery of Russia - definitely not willing to take their word on anything. "Trust, but verify" was the quote used by Saint Ronald Reagan when referring to the USSR (it was a Russian proverb that he adopted).
Now, we have a guy who trusts the Russians and Putin implicitly - so much to the point that he's unwilling to do even the smallest investigation into Russian interference in our democratic process. Or, more likely, he's worried about what will be revealed if the investigation goes on.
The Russians are involved around the world, looking out for their own interests. It's no different from the US. We have spies (or at least we HAD) spies all over the place. We've tried to influence the outcome of elections in other countries as well. But we're going to assume that the Russians aren't doing the same thing to us?
The Russian government may not be calling itself by the same names, but the KGB is still out there. They haven't stopped. They never will. Russia gonna Russia, and only stupid people don't accept this. You won't find any Russia experts who think that they aren't meddling. You won't find any Russia experts who think that they aren't hacking. In fact, there's really only ONE person who seems to believe this, and he has no expertise in Russia, or in computer warfare, or in the democratic process. So his opinion shouldn't be taken seriously, other than the fact that he fell upward into a position of power.
I feel like this should be an automatic bot, but here it goes again: Only a fool believe that Russia isn't trying to outmaneuver us. And there are a lot of fools in the US these days.
